If they said “its a pleasure to announce I’m leaving”

@Bargebill19

Op. You’ve not been inside an office since March 2020. So how do know what was said as per your original post? If you weren’t there.
It’s called an email .... welcome to the future!

I assumed the OP had heard it via email.
ZZTopGuitarSolo · 14/07/2021 22:48

LOL cross posted.

Bargebill19 · 14/07/2021 22:51

Then there no context it what it said and really no judgment to be made. It’s the physical indicators alongside the spoken word which give rise to the indication of wether it was ride or funny.
An email is just a collection of letters into words with no emotion behind them

Bargebill19 · 14/07/2021 22:52

Rude not ride.

WhiskeyTangoFoxtrot1 · 14/07/2021 22:53

OP just curious how you knew to Google dirty seat as well as dirty bum? Don't remember that being said (may have missed it)

Also, is this a new insult game - finding cringy posts to suggest are other posters Grinnever seen it done in this way before!

FrangipaniDeLaSqueegeeMop · 14/07/2021 22:54

@TomForddr I think you'd have had more replies to your liking if you gave even a crumb of context.

Is this person has slimmed the department down, fired loads of people and got paid loads more for doing half the work of his subordinates then yes it's cheeky to say "I'm pleased to be leaving". If it's just an uncontroversial person moving on then it's fine. But until you tell us the context we don't know

HeyDemonsItsYaGirl · 14/07/2021 22:55

WhiskeyTangoFoxtrot1 I nominate this thread as one of yours Grin www.mumsnet.com/Talk/food_and_recipes/4296837-Ive-got-a-million-carrots

WhiskeyTangoFoxtrot1 · 14/07/2021 22:55

Never mind, I saw the follow up with the dirty seat comment 😂

😂😂 you got me 🥕 🐰

Bargebill19 · 14/07/2021 22:57

What I find weird is that someone bothered to let people know they were leaving by email. I get letting their HR and line manager know, which the op says she isn’t, but I certainly would be bothered doing it by email
for anyone else. No matter what I thought of the company or colleagues.
Is this a thing now??

Oh my god ... for real. It’s not that deep. Literally this post and then troll hunting claiming I posted a thread that I didn’t post and so I know there’s no “evidence” to say it was me. So no idea what you’re basing any of your accusations on. And then still trying to “catch me out” Confused
OP posts:
MotionActivatedDog · 14/07/2021 22:58

Definitely you who posted this one.

Yep that’s me. Any advice? I’m sure it will be worth hearing. Grin

FunTimes2020 · 14/07/2021 23:00

OP, you come across like a rude twat!

MotionActivatedDog · 14/07/2021 23:00

Seriously OP- your people skills have taken a massive hit since covid started. You need to go back to the office.

Yea you clearly did miss it.

“Dirty bum?! I missed that post grin
OP had another thread outraged that their colleague was so unprofessional for saying they wouldn’t sit on a dirty seat because they’d get a dirty bum.“

OP posts:
Timeisavirtue · 14/07/2021 23:01

That’s my kind of humour. To be honest I’d probably say worse 😂

HorridHamble · 14/07/2021 23:02

At my workplace, it’s practically expected to say something silly like that. We have very low staff turnover and joke about being institutionalised as our sector has limited opportunities for progression without relocating. I’m one of the newer people and I’ve been there 10 years.

I’d find it amusing. A chuckle rather than a guffaw.

In another context, it could possibly be construed as mildly insensitive, or someone mistakenly believing that is how you start an announcement, or someone getting their words muddled up. Or a smug bugger saying “I’m outta here! Eat my dust, losers!” Hard to say without more background info.

Can you provide context OP? I hope you’re not ruminating and upset. Maybe we can put your mind at ease.

Bargebill19 · 14/07/2021 23:03

Er you are the one op who’s seeing things in an email that aren’t there. It’s just words. Unless you give us the proper context as other posters have said. Then you may find that some people will think like you.
But as it took you 10 pages before you even admitted it was an email I doubt you will ever give the context.
If I received an email just stating what you originally posted and NOTHING more, I would just shrug my shoulders and send it to the dump bin. In that context it’s neither funny nor rude.

TomForddr · 14/07/2021 23:04

Maybe ... could have been the isolation after my partners death in September 2019 and being classed as vulnerable due to a heart condition I’ve had my whole life which means my body can’t handle pregnancy and not being able to leave the house and see friends and family - or even work colleagues. Takes a toll I guess.

FrangipaniDeLaSqueegeeMop · 14/07/2021 23:04

OP no one is trying to catch you out. We just want a smidgen of context!

Bargebill19 · 14/07/2021 23:04

Oh and op. It’s not me troll hunting. But thanks for the character assassination.
I’m quite pleased for the person who’s leaving if that they way you accuse people.

Admitted yes. It was a massive secret I was trying to hide.
