Shouldn't put things online that are so private to her? None of us should?
I just think the money wasted on this court case with Rebekah vardy.

I know we all have our own opinions. I found the way Colleen dealt with it wrong personally. Rebekah was 7 months pregnant and she wasn't just causing stress to Rebekah but to her children too. She went all public about it and aired her dirty laundry in public whilst being angry about her own privacy.

I just saw an update and one of the things she said was Rebekah was sitting behind her at the 2016 euros to be seen even though it was someone else's seat. What a petty thing to say.

The whole thing is just ridiculous.

The news of this court case has reminded me that I couldn’t pick the wife or girlfriend of a current England player out of a line up, which is a refreshing turn of events compared to past ‘WAG’ culture.

Wayne Rooney is well known for soliciting prostitutes, and Jamie Vardy has been caught on video racially abusing a person. They don’t need to worry about their wives, they’re more than capable of embarrassing themselves.

This is the petty world that they live in surely though, where the smallest things are slights and etiquette etc is huge. Its It's also how they make their money. I'm with the people who say leave them to it

Since this is the thread for people who don't care about Coleen Rooney or Rebekah Vardy, having read all the posts I thought I'd also post here to declare I don't care about them either.

I don't understand this. If I take a shit builder to court, might he not be blameworthy? One party goes to law in order to try and get satisfaction: if there wasn't the remedy to 'blame Colleen', defamation law wouldn't exist.

Exactly. Colleen outed a leak that’s all, anyone would have done the same. Rebekah is one who has brought the ridiculous legal case.

Team Colleen over here. The story makes a refreshing change from COVID cases. Colleen has no motive to make this up - she is literally leagues above Rebekah. She’s probably worth millions more and whether you like him or not, Wayne is more of a legend that Jamie will ever be.

I thoroughly enjoyed wagatha christie when it happened. And I think the idea Rebekah Vardy was somehow unaware of what happened with her private insta account seems a bit unlikely. Her public one, sure, I'm sure they all have social media managers. But this sounds like basically a mates' WhatsApp group they had going.

I guess she has good legal advise that suggests she might win, but I imagine most people will still think its most likely she posted it. And I think the legal ramifications are huge for most people: this and the Arlene Foster twitter case show that there's a real shift away from anonymity on the internet, and I mean the private parts of the internet. It will be really interesting to see where all this leads.

I know someone called Rivkah but I never realised it was the Hebrew form of Rebecca, so I have learned something form this thread - thanks Smidgexxx and so there to all the people saying that the thread is valueless when they themselves have read enough or at least tell us all they are above such things

Agree completely with Motleyvegetables that it was awful the way the wives and girlfriends of earlier players have been objectified so badly. Things have improved slightly or perhaps they can just post on instagram and don't need to have a relationship with the press.

I am pro Colleen on this. We all have a right to a private life. It's not as if she (or indeed Rebekah) is using taxpayers' money to pay for this. I read that both of them had been advised to reach an out of court agreement but refused to do so. I've no idea if that's true but it doesn't reflect terribly well on either of them if it is.

Not really. She specifically identified Rebekah Vardy as being the source of the leak.

The courts will decide whether there was indeed a leak; whether Rebekah Vardy was that leak; and whether Rooney was entitled at any rate to identify her in a public forum.

@nettie434 I’d read about them not wanting to settle out of court too and do wonder whether how public their lives are has an impact. I always think of whichever tournament it was where England had a base in Baden Baden. Victoria Beckham and Cheryl were seen as ‘head WAGs’ and, if memory serves, Colleen was seen as the young newcomer who would take the role forward. That must have an impact on how you perceive what it public and what is private and how you manage things in your life as a consequence.

Ah well I hope it's sorted out soon. I googled the secret wag thing and there was something about Peter Crouch being unfaithful and criticising Kate Wright for being too blingy. That made me splutter a bit because they all seem to be into ostentatious wealth. Didn't read any further.
