A library thought it appropriate to book this 'entertainment' for children and I feel sick

I thought it was a joke, a photoshop job, a hoax even but it's not.

WTF

A children's entertainer in a library with this costume?

What the hell is this?

It’s part of a systemic and determined culture of breaking down of boundaries and this is just a small symptom of the rotten whole.

Of the same ilk as those who demand that men should be allowed into women’s shelters, women’s rape/crisis centres, women’s prisons, women’s changing rooms, women’s toilets, women’s groups for survivors of DV and so on and so forth.

As pp have said, beyond the fact that women have always been, and will continue to be, the preyed upon sex class, women are also the gate keepers of children and there is a sizeable faction that wants all those boundaries broken down. It absolutely is not an unintended and regrettable mistake. It never is. Situations such as these are directly related to this agenda of predating.

People who do not believe in sensible boundaries to protect as much as possible those more vulnerable are not decent, good, trustworthy people.

But because people are worried about being labelled as ‘bigoted’ or ‘phobic’ they often feel uneasy about challenging it. So here we are.

This is about demands by certain individuals and/or organisations to access spaces in which they do not belong, to seek ownership of these literally and figuratively and to harass, abuse and assault with impunity.

If you think this plastic penis shouldn’t have been shoved in children’s faces and paraded about in front of women without their consent then let’s imagine what might be wrong with an actual penis being flopped out in front of women and children in a spa, or paraded around in a women’s rape/DV shelter. Or in prisons. Absolutely unacceptable.

If you want to see a video trailer for the "Monkey business" show, it's still available with some other promotional materials here:

The dildo isn't included, but the nipple flashing and bum are an integral part of the performance Angry

peachescariad · 13/07/2021 12:10

When is dressing like this EVER appropriate?

NotBadConsidering · 13/07/2021 12:21

Who cares if there’s an anti-Labour stance? The Labour Party have contributed to this sort of bullshit right from the very top with their refusal to acknowledge the importance of boundaries, giving “sex-positive” fanatics power, and living in fear - right from Starmer down - of being called bigots if you say what you see right in front of you. It’s no coincidence that the horror show that is Holbeck giving men a free pass to rape women is in a Labour constituency, both in council and parliament.

The Labour Party has an institutional problem with listening to women and safeguarding concerns, so they deserve all the flak coming their way over this. And I say this a left wing voter.

BrozTito · 13/07/2021 12:28

Morning star are usually a good laugh but their reporting on this sort of stuff is actually very good and a decent response who want to play culture wars with this pointing at 'the left'.

Completely agree.

334bu · 13/07/2021 13:25

How can intelligent people minimise this.? What on earth do they think is happening?

A library thought it appropriate to book this 'entertainment' for children and I feel sick
BrozTito · 13/07/2021 13:26

They dont have scumbags like christopher bloody chope and phillip davies who i see are endlessly given a free pass, they do have a lot of GC mps. My local labour mp is campaigning right now over sexual offences against women. How dare people try to make this about party politics, that great friend of women the fucking daily mail especially.

candycane222 · 13/07/2021 13:42

334bu what a weird thread, she's fair frothing at the mouth. Yet what has been taken away from her? Is she really angry that children are missing out on the essential right to see RDM and touch the dildo?? Is she angry that the arts company who themselves have (sort of) apologised, are having their fundamental right to wind up prudes, moved away from the children's library?

I don't get what awful harm is being done by this not happening, to make Joss so riled up?

Is she putting it on a par with something actually bigoted and harmful, like outlawing homosexuality? Or what..🤷

I feel like I am watching Eurotrash without the regional accent voiceovers.

Poundshop Prior. Classy as always. Will always defend the indefensible. Quite a recurrent theme amongst this lot.
Oceanbliss · 13/07/2021 13:53

@334bu With that kind of reasoning I don’t think that person is intelligent at all.

Are those tweets opposing parents successfully re establishing boundaries that say children should be protected from indecent exposure? I'm surprised to see someone who identifies as an author of books for children taking this position Confused .
LittleMyTopKnot · 13/07/2021 14:02

This week I have seen people defending a pervert in a pool with a semi erect penis next to a little girl.

I have also seen people defending a rainbow dildo butt monkey, waiving the dildo in children’s faces.

What is wrong with people and all these penises? Why do children have to be exposed to real penises or dildos?

Why are people trying to erode the boundaries?

candycane222 · 13/07/2021 14:02

I hadn't come across her before, and she doesn't have a huge twitter following so I assume she has some other outlet. But whatever.

However, she seems very intolerant: 'if you don't agree with me HARD your views are invalid'

Almost ---fanatical?.

I was pretty vehement with my radical feminism in my confused young way when I was 23. I remain committed to the struggle 🙂💪 but y'know, learned to listen as well.

Just imagine if your mum was putting that amount of fury and dogmatism out on a public platform every day, too.

I didn't warm to her, as you can probably tell 😅

candycane222 · 13/07/2021 14:03

Joss prior that is..

Keepemguessing · 13/07/2021 14:05

Joss used to be a frequent flyer here until the banhammer was used.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 13/07/2021 14:13

I've just had a read of JP's twitter account and they are full on frothing in outrage at the idea of anyone daring to object to cock and balls being waved in front of children. And the DARVOing is off the scale.
Very concerning.

SinisterBumFacedCat · 13/07/2021 15:12

In other news JP called Sally Challen’s son, a man who campaigned for his mother’s murder conviction to be quashed for killing her abusive husband, a misogynist. Hmm

TheWeeDonkey · 13/07/2021 15:20

It was said earlier on here wasn't it? There is a sector of society that is totally obsessed with worshipping the blessed cock and these people seem to be getting the upper hand, normalising and excusing inesxcusable behaviour. The desire for (some) men to demonstrate their predilictions in public is more important than anything else.

Crowsandshivers · 13/07/2021 15:24

Wtf. This makes me feel ill.

Didn't they also have David down in a list of "transphobes", when David has never even spoken about trans people?

Making lists of people you deem to be bad for whatever reason is totally normal behaviour, of course.

As is lurking around forums where predominantly women hang out (like Mumsnet and Ovarit), taking screenshots of our posts to post on twitter, so you can discuss with your followers how nasty/bigoted/thick the horrible women are.

Lemonmelonsun · 13/07/2021 15:58

@Ninkanink

Great Post

Has anyone mentioned that weird group once affiliated with a Labour Council, I can remember the name but it was pedophile by stealth?

baroqueandblue · 13/07/2021 16:28

I'm glad this incident is being reported in the mainstream press. Sunlight!

Oh yes because the Daily Mail is famous for bringing light into our lives Hmm

This cultural travesty needs strong and sustainable action, but let's not pretend the DM particularly gives a shit about the safety of children.
