Sickened by PDA

BIL and SIL are constantly kissing and stroking one another. Now that she is pregnant there's a lot of bump kisses and bump strokes. DH once told them to keep things private and we were told by BIL that they do much more in private 🤢

It's really becoming sickening. AIBU to not want to spend time with them

Eurgh, yanbu. That’s grim. And the PPs pretending they would be cool with it aren’t fooling anyone.

Inni632 · 10/07/2021 22:52

Oh gosh! I hope not

OP posts:
Inni632 · 10/07/2021 22:53

🤣🤣 with the way they go, they probably wouldn't even feel it!

@SmileyClare

Weird you didn't mention the dry humping in front of the mother in law in your Op. Do you actually mean dry humping, as in simulating sex.
For some reason this has really made me laugh Grin
sweeneytoddsrazor · 10/07/2021 22:54

Usually ffs get a room is my go to phrase, if I need one. Saw a couple in the supermarket queue the other day full on snogging with their masks still on

Inni632 · 10/07/2021 22:56

The dry humping has stopped that's why it isn't an issue anymore. Dry humping was months ago (SIL wasn't expecting then) - MIL was fuming which probably helped cut out the humping. Now it's lots of tongues, kisses on belly, stroking each other (bum breast thighs)

It's weird. 100%. I don't HATE pda in public public but in a basically private setting such as being around family it's weird.. if you're going to a family gathering which is basically what that is you should want to speak to family etc if you just want to kiss the whole time what's the point in meeting up with people just to basically ignore them it's rude. Kissing is great. Is there a need to do it in front of others all the time... not really no 😂A peck but not a snog. It's weird 😂Honestly I hate lovey dovey couples they make me feel ill😂Coz give it a few years they will be just like everyone else 😂

Fountaining · 10/07/2021 22:57

‘’Sickened’ and ‘queasy’ seems a violent overreaction. And is your whole family this uncomfortable? Your SIL dashing off to tell your MIL and your MIL ‘giving them a bollocking’ for the sofa incident sounds very odd to me.

Inni632 · 10/07/2021 22:57

SIL said this and the pregnant SIL said we tried to find a room they're all full 🤦‍♀️ that is always the answers we get

We do much worse in private
We just can't keep our hands of each other
Everywherez full that's why we're here

Suggestions:

  1. Keep talking, but abruptly change the topic of conversation to something you know BIL or SIL find disgusting or aggravating. Politics? The nastiest thing you've ever heard of?
  1. Whip out the phone and start taking photos with the flash switched on.
  1. Sigh loudly and repeatedly.
  1. After the PIL have left, straddle your DH and start engaging in some PDAs of you own. It's a competition!
  1. Get up and leave. Don't come back. Do this every time they start getting too intense.
Wolfiefan · 10/07/2021 23:07

Don’t visit.
Or do but take a bucket of cold water. Smile

marshmallowmilk · 10/07/2021 23:11

sounds like my sister and her fiancé. went for a dog walk on the beach a few weeks ago and someone was busking, they froze on the spot and began ballroom dancing on the beach walkway. proper weird behaviour imo Confused my fiancé and i just kept walking Grin

NoNobramma · 10/07/2021 23:13

It’s really rude to shut people out of the conversation by doing this and making others uncomfortable. Can’t you all sit down and have an adult talk about it? Ask them why it is they think other people don’t do PDAs all the time? Not because they aren’t in love but because they understand it can make other people feel awkward, it’s rude and just unsociable.
Ask how they would feel if when they’ve had the baby people ignored him/her? As they’re ignoring you guys when they’re busy snogging.
All agree to get up and walk out? Or just ask them to stop.
I also think their marriage will be dead by the time their baby is a year old. He won’t cope without her being his sexy wife and she won’t be up for it all the time like before.

@Inni632

I'm finding the your jealous comments hillarious. I'm a sucker for romance and love. Just don't want to people sticking their tongues down each others throats Infront of me. Just awkward for everyone in room.
urghh , i cant stand all this shit either , theres a time and a place for it and thats in private away from others . they wouldnt be seeing me at all im afraid , plus im sorry to say they sound like a pair of dicks
MichelleScarn · 10/07/2021 23:15

MIL gave them a big bollocking after SIL went and told her
So why didn't sil or anyone else present say to them? Does MIL call the shots about things?

speckledostrichegg · 10/07/2021 23:20

The dry humping was before pregnancy. On sofa with her on his lap. It was honestly so scary.

Sorry OP but this did make me laugh Grin

Brazilianut · 10/07/2021 23:21

MIL big guns is your only hope to sort them out.

Nancydrawn · 10/07/2021 23:21

Communal breast stroking is a bit much.

The spray bottle seems an excellent solution.

radiosummer · 10/07/2021 23:24

Oh yeah - PDA is minging. Loads of kissing is a precursor to sex unless you're 16 in a club, so yeah, adults need to stop that shit because nobody needs to be thinking that after they've eaten the fact off each other they will be then "eating the "face" off each other"....

DameAlyson · 10/07/2021 23:24

Does MIL call the shots about things?

Why shouldn't she, if it's happening in her house?

Brazilianut · 10/07/2021 23:24

You could scream in pretend agony and clutch your knee to startle them each time they do it, with a mysterious knee condition as an excuse.

PrincessNutella · 10/07/2021 23:25

So very, very wrong. They are releasing toxins with every bump.
