But ironically it was you that thought that England was an island on one of the many threads you posted on about hating England yesterday, so back to basics indeed, enjoy your Italian wine.
Did she? Oh dear. Someone's education is a bit lacking isn't it.
I'm not patriotic at all. I disapprove of how the English flag is used and by whom it is used. I'm not even a football fan - in fact if it wasn't for my dad and daughter I wouldn't bother watching it tonight at all.
I also don't deny that Covid has impacted Italy and every other country. However....
Like it or not, this is a big thing for the English football team and something exciting for people who are interested across this country (you do know England is a country don't you dear?).
It is also exciting and a big thing for italy and I'm sure in that country there is as much excitement as here.
In terms of the UK, if Scotland (home of my maternal grandfather), Wales (home of my husbands family) or Northern Ireland we're in the finals instead of England, then I'm pretty sure that most of the people in the UK (yes, I meant to say UK because my extremely expensive private education taught me the difference between UK and England) would be cheering them on.
I do, however, realise that there are a few fans out there who let themselves and the side down, but despite what the red tops say, they are in the minority.
