Where will you be watching the final tomorrow?

I know not everyone will be watching but just interested to see the consensus.

I.e. at home, at a friends house or party, a fan zone, a pub, Wembley etc.

I'll either be at home or just going to a friends. There'd probably be a lot more in pubs if not for the restrictions. Having to book etc will put people off (and it being a Sunday night).

@ThursdayWeld

I must rush on to a thread about dogs and announce that I don't have a dog Grin
And that you hate them and can't understand why some do have dogs 😂😂

Yes, I think Italy have also had a bit of a tough year. Maybe it has something to do with that global pandemic that's currently impacting the whole world

FFS you really are on the wind up now aren't you. I'm sure Italians are as excited as the English. But I guess that's ok for you because apparently being English is the problem.

ThursdayWeld · 11/07/2021 12:23

People only have dogs to distract themselves from their miserable existences. I don't have a dog, or like dogs, and it's really important that I let the world know that. Especially on threads about dogs.

Enjoy the game as good to hear that most fans are true fans of the game and not your all too common garden variant of uncivilised yob who behave like cave men when drunk attacking others even after winning the match. It is a shame that these idiots wrapped up in the Union flag cause such unnecessary commotion over a sporting fixture. I hope the best team win and win fairly without any fakery or laser beams as cheating the referee is such a bad part of this sport which needs to be stamped out to give football a clean start away from the dirty game. Football is sport and should play not part in woke politics with any performative gestures nor disrespecting the opponents national anthem etc. Win or lose this is a good achievement by England. However England can win and can go on to reach other finals. I hope England win to lift the country and also to prevent any civil disturbance from the unfortunate yobs as if the sky had fallen because of a game of football. It’s just football not life. Come on England!

Oh FFS. I thought we'd got past attacking the England team for taking the knee and calling them 'woke', but I guess not.

As for keeping politics and football separate, have you ever heard of Hillsborough? Are you going to start calling Liverpool fans 'woke' too?

Back to the matter of this thread and as just posted on another Euro 2020 football thread about children missing school because of watching the football match - here is my answer to share regarding watching this sporting event this evening:

Well my young child will be in bed as usual for primary school early tomorrow. I however will be in the sky lounge garden bubble drinking bubbles at the barbecue grill and pizza oven sampling artisan Neapolitan pizzas with English only additional pineapple topping watching on the big projector screen set up. It’s a corporate cosmopolitan gathering so no yob behavioural nonsense and some selected Italian guests to add drama. I suspect it may be a long night and refreshing to have a sporting event to cheer on in a private Covid safe jolly with fellow Covid PCR negative and double vaccinated conscientious types only for mutual safety. I am sure we will hear neighbours below and over the skyline horizon with adjacent high rise residential complexes when the goals are scored as per previous games. Throughly enjoyed part 1 of the two part football finals festivities with super exciting Coppa America 2021 finals between the two leading world football giants from Rio overnight as Argentina defeated Brazil 1-0 to be crowned South American football champions: youtu.be/ZXv3yxk1_Xk and looking forward to part 2 and hopefully a home victory against a very competitive Italian team. Let’s hope we can get the Italian job done but best of luck and may the best team win fairly! Come on England! Sweet (̶c̶h̶a̶r̶i̶o̶t̶)̶ Caroline….

purrswhileheeats · 11/07/2021 12:36

I'm watching it at home by myself, it doesn't start until bloody 10pm here! My football-mad best friend who lives a two minute walk away is on holiday selfish cow My colleague has invited me round to watch it with her family but she lives over a mile away and I don't fancy walking home at 1am when I'm half cut and have a 7am start tomorrow 😅

We had a discussion with our boss on Friday about opening late tomorrow but he's not into football so was having none of it 😰

ThursdayWeld · 11/07/2021 12:36

I loved yoru reply @ResIpsaLoquiturInterAlia. Have a great night!!

PhilSwagielka · 11/07/2021 12:38

I'm gutted for Richarlison, but I like Messi so that evens it out.

Thanks @ThursdayWeld. I hope we win as otherwise there will be so much unnecessary misery about just a game of football! Sport is wonderful especially active participation but win or lose sport and your health is the winner. I was amazed we beat Germany with relative ease as that is already really satisfactory so we hope to bring it home not Rome tonight!

x2boys · 11/07/2021 12:43

But ironically it was you that thought that England was an island on one of the many threads you posted on about hating England yesterday, so back to basics indeed, enjoy your Italian wine.

FangsForTheMemory · 11/07/2021 12:44

At home with my cat. He's not into football but then neither am I , normally speaking.
@x2boys In your case, maybe dedicating the full duration of the match to learning geography would be better.

England is on an island. I was suggesting some people might be wise to look beyond the shores of that island.
Oh god are you still here, being tiresome about a country you aren't from, don't live in, and don't support? Grin

maddiemookins16mum · 11/07/2021 12:50

At home, DH will be glued, I’ll be half watching and willing them on but will also be watching random shite to kill the time.

ThursdayWeld · 11/07/2021 12:51

We are going to watch at my mother's. There will be enough snacks to feed both entire football teams Grin

snoin · 11/07/2021 12:51

As I have said before, if you don't like my opinion you can simply ignore it, or not reply to it.

Apparently the Englanders feel far too fragile and defensive to do that.

You seem a little obsessed with England. This is a thread about where people will be watching a match involving England.

Maybe move on? Visit some threads about Scotland, or Continental Europe?

BaronMunchausen · 11/07/2021 12:55

@FrangipaniDeLaSqueegeeMop

Why are people commenting "we won't be watching it"?

What's the point of your posts? It's not what was asked.

Because it was an open question, addressed to everyone?
Sparklingbrook · 11/07/2021 12:56

Because it was an open question, addressed to everyone?

The question is 'Where will you be watching the final tomorrow' not will you be.

ThursdayWeld · 11/07/2021 12:57

Where will you be watching the final tomorrow?

Is not an open question. And it is clearly, by definition, aimed at people who will be watching the final.

3Britnee · 11/07/2021 12:57
@3Britnee

Oh here we go again. Back to basics. The 'UK' is made up of 4 nations - they're called England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. The 'UK' is not just England. Maybe try looking at a map during half-time. You might learn something. There are many people who live in the 'UK' who have absolutely no reason to support England whatsoever.

But, FYI, although I am from Scotland, I now live in continental Europe.
Why are you commenting then? If you live in Scotland and dont think that you are part of the UK or Great Britain, so arent getting behind England on some stupid principle, why are commenting on something that has nothing to do with you?

Fuck off back to your miserable bitter corner and stay there 🤷‍♀️
