There should be no England fans at final IMO

I cannot believe there is not more disgust at the actions of one (or more) English fan(s).

Aside from trying to cheat way to an England victory by distracting the goalkeeper during a penalty, lasers are phenomenally dangerous to eyes. The goalkeeper could have retinal damage.

I think a “lesser” nation would have been kicked out, but England won’t. But in my view the fans should be banned - there has to be consequences for criminal actions. Otherwise it will happen again.

Suspect I’ll be in the minority but it’s frankly embarrassing we have fans who do this.

Will op say their country?...🤔 and are they obsessing over the other countries behaviour?

MrsGRamsay · 08/07/2021 21:46

@LaserPointer I don’t know what to say - all people posting seem to know eff all about Our reputation in Europe: Heysel anyone? Where Liverpool fans were found directly responsible for the death of opposition fans leading to a ban of English team competing in Europe for five effging years? FFS!!!

Sloaneslone · 08/07/2021 21:46

@Sleepiebeauty

Booing when other countries sing their national anthem is not cool, and you can’t blame that on a single person. We used to live in the UK, but this sadly is making it very hard to go for them..
Its not just English fans that have done this though. Not even just in this tournament.
Redhotchilis · 08/07/2021 21:48

@LaserPointer

Ok. I have my answer

Personally would have been mortified if my own country’s fans had done this.

Good luck Sunday. Hope you win fair and square.

Are you Scottish OP?Hmm
forinborin · 08/07/2021 21:48

I was mildly supporting England after my home team was knocked out, but am quite disappointed now by the fans' behaviour. I am neutral as to the finals, just hope it will be an interesting game to watch.
My parents who don't even speak English
and don't live here were genuinely supporting England, but took a pause after the German girl incident and repeated booing of national anthems. This opinion was reinforced after the laser scandal came to light.
You're just not painting a very attractive picture to the world in aggregate, guys. Yes, no fan crowd is perfect, and there are similar incidents here and there - but it does now look like a systemic issue within the English fan base, unfortunately.

Goldenbear · 08/07/2021 21:48

I thought booing was part of the game. I was taken to a London club in the 90s formby Dad's divorce weekend access activity l, I definitely recall booing of the opposition.

Teddy1970 · 08/07/2021 21:49

The Danish first goal shouldn't have been allowed apparently, something to do with the wall or something, and Harry Kane was brought down in the penalty area, now that should have been a penalty, but the ref said play on..football isn't fair sometimes but please, don't call us cheats. SWEET CAROLINE....OH OH OH

How is this even similar?

Why would you really compare Heysel to this?

And yes, other countries fans do have a reputations as well. All countries fans have some twats.

Anyone else think op is off googling 'which countries fans are the best behaved' so they can pretend to be from there Grin

Welsh.

I know plenty. You’ll have to help me with how hooliganism leading to the death of 39 people has any relevance at all to one individual shining a laser, and why this incident is more serious than the missiles thrown onto the pitch at black players, monkey chants etc which have rarely attracted any sanction of note.

Teddy1970 · 08/07/2021 21:51

Nah...Danish

SlipperyDippery · 08/07/2021 21:51

*this incident meaning the laser, not Heysel which is clearly about as serious as it gets

stellaisabella · 08/07/2021 21:51

Get a grip - jealousy and a huge amount of bitterness to boot.
It's something actually nice going on for once, first time in 55 years we've been in a final, and people are rightfully excited.
All the moaning is just so bloody tiresome, we've all had months of misery and yet still people cannot stop themselves from whining on.
Just don't bloody watch it if you're that arsed, problem solved.

megletthesecond · 08/07/2021 21:51

I was half expecting us to be kicked out over the laser thing and the booing. We are mostly idiots.

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 08/07/2021 21:52

Oh FFS.

Just how bitter and twisted can one get?

Let's bring it home!

Willwebebuyingnumber11 · 08/07/2021 21:52

Maybe just wait for the tennis OP.

SimonedeBeauvoirscat · 08/07/2021 21:52

Cheating. Cheats. Shameful.
I’m English. I don’t think England should benefit from this. The England I’m from doesn’t believe in cheating.

Sloaneslone · 08/07/2021 21:53

Just looking up Italys fans. They aren't all perfectly behaved. They have been reported as booing other teams national anthems in the past too.

Maybe they should have been banned for taking part at all.

username18702 · 08/07/2021 21:54

Get back to France.
AnUnoriginalUsername · 08/07/2021 21:54

I'm so proud of our team, but so ashamed of our fans. YANBU they're showing us to be a bunch of hooligans.

MarshaBradyo · 08/07/2021 21:54

@WorraLiberty

Wahhhhh! Wahhhh!

FFS when is this bleating about England going to stop? 🙄🙄

I've heard less whinging from hungry, tired toddlers than I have since the start of this football tournament.

Yep it’s constant

No not all fans should be punished as you want

MarshaBradyo · 08/07/2021 21:54

Last part to op

Goldenbear · 08/07/2021 21:55

How ridiculous! Speak for yourself! Booing is nothing new.

MrsGRamsay · 08/07/2021 21:55

FFS I effing follow football i.e was a season ticket holder and went all over the world following my team until disabled and everyone hates England because of the fair weather fans than come out at a whiff of a result. It was disgusting behaviour - yup, try and blind a Goalie - in the rules innit???

RuggerHug · 08/07/2021 21:55

Personally I think they should be warned if they start booing during the anthem it's stopped immediately, it's announced again that'll it'll go ahead if the crowd can show the same respect for Italys anthem that the English one is shown and if there's boos again it's called off and played behind closed doors the next day.
