There should be no England fans at final IMO

I cannot believe there is not more disgust at the actions of one (or more) English fan(s).

Aside from trying to cheat way to an England victory by distracting the goalkeeper during a penalty, lasers are phenomenally dangerous to eyes. The goalkeeper could have retinal damage.

I think a “lesser” nation would have been kicked out, but England won’t. But in my view the fans should be banned - there has to be consequences for criminal actions. Otherwise it will happen again.

Suspect I’ll be in the minority but it’s frankly embarrassing we have fans who do this.

These anti England posts are starting to piss me off (which I guess is the point) and I’m nowhere near nationalist flag shagger status.

username18702 · 08/07/2021 21:16

@Urbanhymngirl

YANBU - England fans are dicks for booing the anthem & making racist comments about a 7 year old German girl (called her a Nazi slut as I recall).
No they shouldn't but the twat who did it should be fined and banned from games for life.

I'm sure MN can do a lot better than this. On Twitter they're asking the English to give back everything in the British Museum. You need to up your game here (since your national team obviously didn't).

BillyWhozz · 08/07/2021 21:16

@littledrummergirl

Personally I think they should be disqualified, as it is in the future I think it will be remembered in the same way as hand of God. It was disgraceful and has taken the shine off a very good win.
Will it fuck.

Not to mention he actually saved the penalty.

Not like he was stood there with his hands over his eyes and Kane rolled it in...

MrsGRamsay · 08/07/2021 21:16

Completely agree with you @LaserPointer and effing soft penalty too x

Midnightballerina · 08/07/2021 21:16

Have a day off love

Teddy1970 · 08/07/2021 21:17

@LaserPointer

So had England lost 2-1 after Pickford had been dazzled by danish supporters when trying to save the winning penalty then all of you would have accepted that?

The hypocrisy……

But I know you’ll never admit it. Winning - even if by cheating - is all that counts.

He wasn't affected too much as he saved it, Harry Kane got it on the rebound...

What was it Neil Lennon said re soft penalties? An egg can be soft or hard but it's still an egg.
EmeraldShamrock · 08/07/2021 21:21

They should be able to identify the few with camera technology available today.
There is always rotten grapes among the bunch.

LaserPointer · 08/07/2021 21:21

I realise the English desperation to win. I really do - aside from the fan behaviour I was backing them as it must be so humiliating to never have won it.

But I cannot believe the lack
Of condemnation of a physical attack on the goalkeeper.

There would have been riots of it had been the other way round

Imagine if MNHQ banned cowardly name changers? 🤔

@WorraLiberty

Wahhhhh! Wahhhh!

FFS when is this bleating about England going to stop? 🙄🙄

I've heard less whinging from hungry, tired toddlers than I have since the start of this football tournament.

I quite agree.

OP you are talking utter shite. You clearly know the square root of fuck all about football if you think other nations would be kicked out for this. Do you think it’s the first time it’s happened or something?

Oh I see it’s a parody! Ignore my last post, sorry I had thought it was a serious thread.
duvetdrama · 08/07/2021 21:24

Booing of others national anthems happens all the time? Really? As far as I can tell that is a pretty rare occurrence and has really put the fans in a poor light.

MrsGRamsay · 08/07/2021 21:25

Yup. We have home advantage so even VARs can be ‘turned’. Obviously, majority of England fans aren’t knuckle dragging thugs but eff me - they should still be banned for what the minority tossers do.

Sloaneslone · 08/07/2021 21:26

Ffs, if the game had gone the other way and English people moaned, they would be told to shut the fuck up.

I am not even English and the anti-english/anti football posts are pissing me off.

It doesn't matter if the England team had played the best game, ever. And people would still be saying shit like 'soft' penalty and the like. Anything to suggest they don't deserve it.

In football, decisions made are often unpopular or later replays show it wasn't quite right.

As for the fans, can you name another time you would ban everybody from one country, going somewhere, because a few people from that country behaved badly?

What a stupid comment. Ban all because of a few? Does that apply to all teams fans then?
Canigooutyet · 08/07/2021 21:26

Oh banning nations from competing in any competition due to racism from fans would be amazing. Individual clubs do ban their racist fans from matches already in the UK. Shouldn't be when trouble is expected from certain countries fans are banned from attending, those fans still cause trouble elsewhere.

Not really. We've won the WC after all.

So England have never been the victim of any sporting injustice ever? Cos I don't really recall any rioting after the hand of God and the Lampard ghost goal...

Again, what lack of condemnation?

Ratalie · 08/07/2021 21:27

Booing of others national anthems happens all the time? Really?
Denmark's fans booed the Welsh anthem (and every touch of the ball by a welsh player for the first 20 mins or so) just a couple of games ago.

So 5 out of 60,000 is a significant level of misbehaviour for punishment of a group? Imagine if such a low threshold were applied to all walks of life....
Bonzoman · 08/07/2021 21:31

I do think that booing through the Danish anthem should poor sportsmanship and showed the fans in a bad light.

Ok, it was possible dive, but sterling had form for that, like lots of other players.

Our football fans have a bad reputation, and it's well deserved over a long period of time.

Regardless, i think the best team won the match.

Aposterhasnoname · 08/07/2021 21:32

It must be exhausting to be so eaten up by bitterness. Have a day off.

YouJustFoldItIn · 08/07/2021 21:32

Oh for crying out loud. This is getting ridiculous now. Nobody abhors yobbish behaviour more than me, but you people really need to get a grip.
