There should be no England fans at final IMO

I cannot believe there is not more disgust at the actions of one (or more) English fan(s).

Aside from trying to cheat way to an England victory by distracting the goalkeeper during a penalty, lasers are phenomenally dangerous to eyes. The goalkeeper could have retinal damage.

I think a “lesser” nation would have been kicked out, but England won’t. But in my view the fans should be banned - there has to be consequences for criminal actions. Otherwise it will happen again.

Suspect I’ll be in the minority but it’s frankly embarrassing we have fans who do this.

Yes it did, it’s a shitty thing to do. England are not the first team to have done it so why should they be the first team to have their fans banned for it as OP suggests? Especially as fuck all is done about actual racism.

I bet the same people who want England kicking out of the final and all England fans to be banned, are the first to froth when their kids are included in whole class punishments. And bang on about how unfair it is to punish a whole group for the behaviour of one.

I realise the English desperation to win. I really do - aside from the fan behaviour I was backing them as it must be so humiliating to never have won it.

I think you're wrong, other national teams have behaved far worse with racism something they should be kicked out for.
But in my view the fans should be banned - there has to be consequences for criminal actions.
This is ridiculous punishing fans for the actions of a few.
Create a thread calling the few out, yes.
Overall you should be proud of the win and the players representing your country and not clinging to the few knob heads.

A lot of our fans are an embarrassment, and will continue to be like that. Yes they'll boo the Italy anthem, and likely riot if we don't win.

However, I'm proud of the team. We're strong favorite and hope/expect to win. Italy have played ok so far too, so our hardest game so far

What is your country out of interest, so I can have a look into the behaviour of its fans?

We are embarrassed and have said so on this and many other snipey threads. We just don’t agree with banning all fans because of it.

What country? Cause its easy to say your fans, even a minority never behave poorly when you aren't mentioning the country.

I think it will be remembered in the same way as hand of God.
It was disgraceful and has taken the shine off a very good win

It's not really like the hand of god though is it, because Maradona scored a goal which should have been disallowed, and who knows what would have happened if it had been. The laser didn't actually stop Schmeichel from making a great save.

Of course it isn't and, when other nations' fans have used laser pointers in the Euros and World Cup, they've just received fines.

I'm usually a bit ABE myself, but the ridiculous critics are changing my mind a little.

Let's hope it's a good match , the security people search the fans for lazer pens or whatever and they don't riot if they lose!
It's not much to ask , is it?

Our team have surprised a lot of people, every game we're getting better. Very competent and competitive!

It's the usual minority that gives us our fully deserved reputation as the great unwanted of world football (with the Russian supported)

Regardless, i think we'll win ... 3-0 Smile

I mean if we’re being pedantic, Denmark’s free kick goal shouldn’t have stood. By FIFA’s own rules, an attacking team member shouldn’t be within 1m of a defending teams ‘wall’ and they clearly were. But that’s the thing with football, the decisions made at the time stand even if they’re questionable.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t condone the idiot holding the laser pen but it doesn’t leave the whole match null and void

But I know you’ll never admit it. Winning - even if by cheating - is all that counts.

No, they would have moaned about it just the same (hand of god) claim it's a fix or that the ref was a secret fan of the opposition, and continue to moan about it. Just like last night's team will. Doesn't need to be any more dramatic than that tbh, banning fans etc is ridiculous and is only suggested because its English fans. I dont think I've heard anyone call for a ban on Tour de France spectators yet, because that would be stupid.
