I cannot believe there is not more disgust at the actions of one (or more) English fan(s).

Aside from trying to cheat way to an England victory by distracting the goalkeeper during a penalty, lasers are phenomenally dangerous to eyes. The goalkeeper could have retinal damage.

I think a “lesser” nation would have been kicked out, but England won’t. But in my view the fans should be banned - there has to be consequences for criminal actions. Otherwise it will happen again.

Suspect I’ll be in the minority but it’s frankly embarrassing we have fans who do this.

I think whoever used the laser was reckless and has brought the England fans into disrepute, however the team and majority of fans are not responsible for this. I would welcome a statement condemning their actions, and acceptance of any sanction imposed. This cannot go unmarked as it sets a precedent for future behaviours which could result in serious consequences such as the blinding of a player. Reluctantly I think that England fans should be banned from the final.

As I said, it is a physical attack (but by cowards in the crowd).

I disagree that England get away with a lot. They've been penalised for fans booing the Danish national anthem, but Denmark were not fined for booing the Welsh national anthem and then booing players for most of the first half.

If he had let the Pen in then fine, similarly if he had actually noticed and made a fuss then it would've been stopped.

However watching the footage back he doesn't even blink/squint. Also Kane missed the pen!

Not that it excuses the actions of the person with the laser but Schmichael (sp?) saved the penalty. So didn't affect him too much did it.

I really dislike the booing during the anthems, but if you think it’s just the English that do that then you’re wrong.

OP, say you were on a works night out and 99 of you were having a jolly good time but one person acted like an abusive dick to bar staff and threw up in the middle of the pub. I take it you support the whole organisation being sacked? Because it's the same principle - punishing the majority well behaved because of the actions of ONE person

Also the incident you refer to, whilst horrific, happened almost 40 years ago. I don't see the relevance or comparison with something that was unacceptable but had barely a fraction of the impact of people dying

Personally I think they should be disqualified, as it is in the future I think it will be remembered in the same way as hand of God. It was disgraceful and has taken the shine off a very good win.

The hand of God actually had an impact on the match result though. This didn't. The penalty was saved.

I'm aware of the dangers thanks, it more that (for about the 3rd time), fans of other nations have done the exact same thing in the World Cup and Euros before. They have been punished with fines. Why do you think England should be punished far more harshly than other teams for the exact same offence?

England will be treated the same as any of national team whose fans have behaved badly. They will be investigated and UEFA will decide on a suitable punishment (probably a fine) in due course

No country that I am aware of have ever had their entire fanbase banned for a game where tickets have already been sold for, especially over one isolated incident by one fan
