Japanese I think, would happily live on bog standard Japanese fare with no difficulty. Chinese for the variety of different regions and the amazing strong flavours.

MarshaBradyo · 07/07/2021 20:22

Japanese

Italian followed by Thai.

I need to try Vietnamese, so many have mentioned it here. What Vietnamese dish should I try first?

Flapjak · 07/07/2021 20:47

Georgian??? I have never tried nor come across a georgian restaurant . Can you recommend a recipe to try?

Levant? Am assuming this is persian? Middle eastern. Waitrose has just brough out a range called levant .

My favourite is Thai from a nightmarket in Bangkok. Favourite dish is som tam

It’s bloody lovely! It’s got a bit of an Italian vibe to it (lots of stews, tomato based things etc) but the flavours are absolutely unique.

If you’re in London (and probably other major cities) you can find decent Georgian restaurants. I’m not sure what recipes I’d recommend to someone though.

EssentialHummus · 07/07/2021 21:03

This is a classic Georgian dish - simplyhomecooked.com/chakhokhbili/

Flapjak · 07/07/2021 21:14

znaika - khachapuri looks delish. A very good reason to buy another cook book 😊

Crankley · 07/07/2021 21:16

Only English. I don't eat any others.

EssentialHummus · 07/07/2021 21:17

@Sleeplessem I don’t know any and a Google search doesn’t turn anything up. Sorry Sad.

znaika · 07/07/2021 21:25

With Georgian food it's all about the ingredient. They say that god tripped over the Caucasus mountains and spilled some food from his own plate on to Georgia

Yeah I couldn’t see anything either, gutted! One for a london trip then!

Fairycakes86 · 07/07/2021 21:46

Malaysian. It's a mix of Chinese, Indian, Malay - so many different styles in one country!

Lochroy · 07/07/2021 21:59

ARGENTINIAN!

Oh my goodness. The meat. Is amazing.

And they have a strong Italian influence so plenty of pasta too. And chocolate. And gelato.

BathshebaKnickerStickers · 07/07/2021 22:07

Thai is my absolute favourite.

My DH and I talk a lot about Venezuelan cuisine- however when we went to Venezuela it genuinely was a cheese and ham sandwich. Our choices were jamon, queso, jamon e queso.

So we offer our children the glamorous sounding Venezuelan sandwiches and it’s ham and cheese.
