What is actually going to her? I feel so sad waking up to that news this morning. Is the judge on the payroll too or something? It’s just awful

Any judges here that can shed any light on why she can’t be free to live her life?

If it were ‘straight up’, the conservators would play it by the book, give her a choice of expensive lawyers to represent her, let her see top well known medical experts, and allow as much information into the public eye as they can without compromising her privacy

I think she does see top doctors, they are court appointed for her evaluations. I don’t know what you mean by well known though or why that’s relevant, I’m sure they are in their field. The lawyers, how do you know she has the ability to pick a good lawyer? And possibly the info out in the public is as much as they can give without compromising her privacy,

Bottom line is people want to know what’s wrong with her. And they need to know what’s wrong with her to judge if what’s occurring is valid or not. And they will not ever reveal that. So it’s just a never ending cycle of speculation.

The kids are 15 and 14 and spend 70 percent custody to th dad and 30 percent with Britney I think.

The whole point is the ill person ISN'T responsible for hiring/ choosing lawyers and doctors, isn't it?

Along with this, I also think it must be incredibly difficult to refuse to do something when those who are asking you to perform have so much control over all aspects of your life.

Just take a look at her Instagram - really, just look. EVEN IF it's not her posting all that stuff, she thinks she is (she addresses her viewers) and the dancing, twirling, dirty hair, messy makeup, teeny tiny bikinis and outfits that she's constantly tugging down on, the manic fast weird way of speaking, the bizarre "projects" that she talks about - really, there is so much more to this than we have been told, but it's clear that there IS something going on. This is not a well person.

And agree with the PP that people in this sort of situation often turn against those who are looking out for them.

Her DC and her ex are against Britney's father. Afaik one of her DC has a protection order for assault against her father.

And look at the state of him, broke, no career, a laughing stock, addict, failed marriages and HIV+. Maybe they should have done it to him and he’d be on a better position.

An aunt of mine was put in an asylum when she was 17yo due to pregnancy b4 marriage and epilepsy. This must have been the 1950s maybe 1940s. She was still in there in the 80s... I remember visiting her.

This smacks of such cases.

Really hope the judge orders some independent medical assessment and that this isn't the end of the road.

There is a lot of money in this conservatorship. Which means there is a lot of incentive to perpetuate it

The judge reviews the conservatorship regularly. All the financial records are laid before the court annually. Any changes to the conservstorship have to be approved by the judge. All payments to the conservators have to be approved by the judge. All Britney Spears medical records are given to the judge.

This last hearing was solely to approve The Bessemer Trust taking over her financial affairs. Britney did not file for the court to remove Jamie Spears. Therefore the judge cannot make a ruling on it. There is another hearing on the conservatorship on 14 July.

Exactly, she’s supporting the livelihoods of a small village of people. Anyone on that payroll has a conflict of interest.

If she does need help t should be neutral not her money grabbing family who abused her

DH has a close family member with some serious MH issues (don't know all the ins and outs - rightly so).

She can be quite convincing when she tells you that there is nothing wrong with her and 'they' (her family and the doctors/nurses) just like to keep her drugged and steal her money. Of course none of this is true (and she has no money worth stealing) but if you didn't know her you might just believe it. So I think there could possibly be a good reason for these decisions.

On the other hand she isn't deemed fit enough to work at all never mind do massive world tours, record albums or film music videos so......this whole thing is very confusing.

I can't remember which documentary when Britney talked of her first big pay check around Christmas, she flew home with $100 notes and gave one to everyone from the community she grew up with. 💖

The conservators cover the roles of manager, agent, accountants, lawyers, business advisors and managers. Of course they have to be paid. How much do you think musicians pay out of their gross income for all of the above?

Even if she was completely able to handle her own affairs, not saying she isn't, she would still need an agent or a manager and they'd cost her about 15 to 20% or her earnings. She'd still have to pay lawyers etc. So if she didn't have a conservatorship, she'd still be paying out a ton of money.

there is NO reason why a grown woman cannot have access to her own money, to spend it the way in which she chooses, to not be able to drive, to not be able to get married or have a child, to be able to go wherever she wants and move freely around etc, etc, the list goes on.

There are plenty of reasons an adult may not make that decision for themselves. I have no idea if she is deemed mentally capable or not, but it is not the case that every adult can make decisions for themselves.

Honestly I believe her boyfriend put her up to making that testimonial.

I also believe that there's things in her Medicals as to why the conservatorship is continuing.

I also don't understand why people find it so hard to believe - it's similar in the UK with a lasting power of attorney.

With a lasting power of attorney you would put someone in charge of your affairs and many people are under them - and it actually protects them in most cases.

So it's not that bizarre really, I guess strange why they won't change it from here dad but the concept I don't find strange.

Also, being able to tour etc doesn't eliminate the need for one necessarily / what if after each tour she is doing dangerous things that could harm not only herself but others too?

My point is we just don't know the full story so I don't see the point in speculating.

That doesn’t say her mum has tried to end it? Just she wanted to be part of it, which is common knowledge.

I don't think she wanted to be a conservator but I think she wanted to be kept in the loop over Britneys finances.

Yes that was my understanding, hence why I was questioning she’s being trying to end it.
