To feel quite pissed off about the lack of summer so far

Where I live it's due to rain again all next week. Not expecting it to be scorching but even a break from all the rain would be nice, with it being July tomorrow. It feels like the summer is going to pass us by without it ever really happening.

YANBU it’s rubbish. Most days are either cloudy/cold/drizzly or a combination of all three

Katekarate · 30/06/2021 22:53

I'm in London and it's crap here. It has rained a lot and is set to rain a whole lot more. We're normally lucky with the weather I guess. Glad some areas are having sun though.

Was just thinking this on my walk home from work. I keep thinking it’s still early May-ish and there’s ages for the weather to pick up, then I realise it’s July!

Katekarate · 30/06/2021 22:54

Its not helping the 'fed up' mood I have now been feeling for about 4 months

I was about to moan about the weather this morning and heard on the radio that they recorded 49° in Vancouver yesterday. So all things considered I'm happy with grey London.

London isn’t the whole U.K. though. The rest of us are having decent weather.

It's beautiful here in Cumbria - sunshine, blue skies, a gentle breeze and around 23 degrees!

This was where I was working on Monday morning Wink

Just got back from a 3 day camping trip and aside from a couple of hours when we pitched our tents when it was boiling, it's been pissing down so hard we couldn't even have a campfire Sad.

And I've still had raging bloody hay-fever...it's been so bad I've taken 2 LFTs in the last week as I've felt so dire, even though I've been vaccinated.

Yep. Same here.
Macaroni46 · 30/06/2021 22:58

I feel the same OP, in fact, was thinking of starting a similar thread.
Am due to go away this weekend (I didn't get away at all last year so it's a big deal) and where I'm going it's forecast for rain both days! All I want is to enjoy a walk along a beach.
No doubt there'll be other posters coming along saying it'll be just as nice in the rain but to me it won't! I love the sun.
It's making me miserable tbh.

webuiltthiscityonrockandwheat · 30/06/2021 22:58

We've had about 3 weeks of warm/hot weather up here in Northumberland. I'd go as far as to say it's been too got some days

WhatTheFlap · 30/06/2021 22:59

I’m in the NW and it’s only rained once this whole month! I’ve been out sunbathing in the garden today. Having said this I think we’re due rain at the weekend and I’ll be moaning like nobody’s business then 😂

AutistGoth · 30/06/2021 23:01

I'm over 100 miles away from London, for the record.

If it was raining and gloomy here, I'd be pissed off too, but it's been a glorious sunny hot day here today.

It'll be rain and wind here soon, I'm sure, whilst London will be bathed in Sunshine. There's still the 2 hottest months to come OP and the month or 2 afterwards.

Plenty to look forward too.

55378OO8 · 30/06/2021 23:02

I'm hoping this means that we'll have better weather in August for the school holidays this year. Last year June and July were glorious and August was crap.

Katekarate · 30/06/2021 23:03

We've all got hayfever here too MintyCedric just adding to the crap-ness

Been a fab summer so far in Ireland (for a change). Due to change this weekend though :(

LaurieFairyCake · 30/06/2021 23:03

It's my fault

Bought an air conditioner two weeks ago Grin

This country has such weird weather, it varies so much between counties. I'm from the South East originally where I hear it's been pretty rubbish recently. In the South West now where it's barely rained for a month, has been sunny and warm for a while now, 23 today. It won't last though, it rains a lot down here normally. Was just thinking this morning that we've had a lovely summer so far compared to previous years

LightasaBreeze · 30/06/2021 23:06

I'm in the East Midlands and it has been quite dull and chilly and rained on Monday, sun came out briefly today, looks wet at weekend though

rosy71 · 30/06/2021 23:07

May was wet and cold but it's been nice ever since. I'm in England.

MotherofPearl · 30/06/2021 23:13

Come to sunny Manchester.

Not a sentence you read very often. Though I agree, we've had a solid run of warm weather here (not that I'm very appreciative of it since I actually like normal Manchester weather!).

lynsey91 · 30/06/2021 23:14

I am in East Midlands and, apart from about a week, the weather has been shit.

I have been wearing a jumper today and most days my heating is kicking in because it is cold.

When we had those couple of warm days posters were moaning about the heat. As I said then, we get, if we are lucky, a week or two of decent weather and the rest of the year the weather is grey, wind, cold, rain.

I am really sick of it

GrealishHairband · 30/06/2021 23:15

I was just about to say it’s been meh in the NE too and see some posters say it’s been ‘too hot’?! Our definitions must be well different. It’s not crept over 16/17 degrees in my corner of the NE (England).

It gets me so down. Just a few weeks of heat is all I need to cheer me up, normally I can cope knowing that I have two weeks in the Med or wherever to top me up but I’m pretty sure this years optimistically booked break will be cancelled and I didn’t get anywhere last year either.
