Just asking as ours as eased off a bit now? Is it compulsory?

If you mingle and are within 2m of someone else then you're a bit daft if you don't.
The reopening will only occur if numbers remain low and this will only happen if we maintain rigourous hand hygiene and wear masks.
It's not much effort but will help in the long run to surpress the spread of new strains.
Why would you not pop on a mask? It's hardly a big bother and less than having a year group excluded, the kids education is already fuc@ed up without parents contributing to the problem because of a can't be arsed attitude.

Sushirolls · 25/06/2021 21:05

Never did

HappyAsASandboy · 25/06/2021 21:09

Yes. Masks are strongly requested at our primary school. Also only one adult per family to drop off/pick up, and staggered start times to reduce the numbers on site at any time.

coconutmonkey · 25/06/2021 22:25

It's not compulsory anywhere. They can ask but have no jurisdiction to demand it. I'm a primary teacher, haven't worn one outside since the beginning. Initially the vast majority of parents wore them when asked but it's tailing off quite significantly now.

CreamFirstThenJamOnTop · 25/06/2021 22:31

Yes, Devon primary school.

Staggered start and finish times, one way system through playground, asked to social distance and wear masks.

VariantL1130 · 25/06/2021 22:31

Yeah our primary school has made them compulsory and most people comply.

Massive grounds for parents to stand in, staggered starts and finish time, plus all the science that has demonstrated how low the risk of outdoor transmission is, makes this nothing more than health security theatre.

Tatum1234 · 25/06/2021 22:51

No never been required at ours.

Blankiefan · 26/06/2021 05:39

Yes and everyone does

notyourmummy · 26/06/2021 06:49

Required to at Nursery drop off and collection, but I'm one of very few who actually do. Primary school have never asked us to (collection is on a public highway), but I do because it's not uncommon for the Head to want to talk to me.

VashtaNerada · 26/06/2021 06:51

Everyone does at my school. We’re still getting cases in school and bubbles needing to shut down so it seems sensible to continue.

MinnieMountain · 26/06/2021 07:00

Still required at our infant school but I’ve noticed fewer people are wearing masks.

Thebig3 · 26/06/2021 07:04

It's not compulsory anywhere, it's advisory. There is no law that says you have to wear a face mask outside.

I really wish people would stop making comments about how people are selfish if they don't. Look at Wembley, G7, the test events that have been run......but yeah if I don't wear one to pick my kids up I'm awful and will be the sole reason covid still exists!

SpunBodgeSquarepants · 26/06/2021 07:04

Yes because I don't want to get told off 😂 but it pisses me off something chronic.

lioncitygirl · 26/06/2021 07:14

No.

RebeccaCloud9 · 26/06/2021 07:17

Yes where I work (parents do). No where my daughter goes to school thank goodness! (I stick to the rules but bloody hate them!)

CrabAppleJelly · 26/06/2021 07:20

Our school, Primary, decided to tell parents to wear them in the school yard, well into the pandemic, which I totally opposed. Outside fresh air, standing miles from each. other.
Husband does school run now, and says no one does anymore.
I think it was pointless
And I was very opposed

ShakespearesSisters · 26/06/2021 07:22

We still have to when queuing for drop off and collection (primary)
It was quiet nice in the winter, kept my face warm. My top lip sweats outside under a mask now Grin no issues indoors thankfully.

PippaPots · 26/06/2021 07:22

To start with everyone except a few had masks, but it’s less than 10%.

Instead of being allowed to cross the field to get to ks1 they herd everyone (7 classes) along a narrow path, squeezing past 8 other classes of parents blocking the way. Because arrows.

We used to be able to spill onto the field so everyone had space to wait for doors to open, then they have cattle gates installed so we’re all clumped together in a pen.

It makes zero sense.

The majority gave up and they sent an email this week saying they are no longer enforcing masks. Only because it will be a loosing battle.

Clickbait · 26/06/2021 07:22

Yes and most parents do.

Gavellar · 26/06/2021 07:26

School gates have an unusually high amount of hot air circulating because of the endless yabbering. Another good reason to avoid like the plague Wink

babybythesea · 26/06/2021 07:28

Yes. Pretty much everyone is. Including the staff when they come out with the children to collect them/hand them over.

kezziethegingercat · 26/06/2021 07:29

We were told we don't have to anymore and everyone instantly stopped.

Pazuzu · 26/06/2021 07:36

Other than a couple of smug twats, still wearing them.

Whatever your views on them, is it really that bloody difficult to wear one for five minutes to show some form of example to your kids?

ConstanceGracy · 26/06/2021 07:38

No, they dropped them about 6 weeks ago . Hertfordshire

ConstanceGracy · 26/06/2021 07:39

Your post is so contradictory. So are you a smug twat or are you a role model? Confused
