To hope someone can help me to remember this early 90s cartoon?

I first tried to remember this animated series about 20 years ago, and I think of it every few years but get nowhere. Googling never throws up the right programme, and you're about to realise why: I recall almost nothing about it

Here's what I recall:

CITV
Very early 90s, maybe late 80s but I'm fairly sure it's 90 something.
Theme tune reminded me of Ordinary World by Duran Duran
Animated
Set on an island/group of islands
Opening credits are an aerial view of the island (s)

It is not Charlie Chalk or Cockleshell Bay. It probably wasn't very long-lived.

I'm not holding out much hope, and appreciate that's not much to go on. Please help me to lay this to rest!

I'm convinced that CITV keep quiet about their shows and cartoons. I used to love a story about a boy who swapped lives with a boy from outer space who looked like him but I can find no mention. I'm convinced it was played by Stephen Mulhern or his double! I've trawled CITV and BBC... (help welcome).

Was it Sport Billy? That was my favorite cartoon as a child.

Not sure the show matches your description, OP but the theme tune of "Tugs" is very 1980s inspired.

Get along gang?

I was wondering about the Junglies which was about an Island in Africa with anthropomorphic animals. It's about the right period.

princess falls off boat- POV is under water looking at boat, she falls down to the depths. She becomes very powerful- she has a necklace that she takes off and throws in the water that then comes back to her- it has superpowers
