Havn't had it in years and dd wants it for a big group of mates on her birthday. Looked at the menu and they are up to £20 each!! Is it worth it?

Surely no one buys Domino's full price? It's a bit like Alton Towers. That's the show price so you feel you're getting a good deal when you pay half that

Ozanj · 15/06/2021 09:46

@PrimulaPrimrose

I love Costco pizza! Probably because I ate it in-store with a cup of tea and felt it was a tremendous bargain!
For me it’s that chicken bake thing.
DamnitFanny · 15/06/2021 09:47

Check different deals in different stores - we live between two small towns and it depends which postcode you put in the Dominos website which offers you get - and one offers significantly better deals than the other!

InnaBun · 15/06/2021 09:47

Never buy it full price.

If you have an Asda and a big enough oven for the numbers you need, their create your own pizza is brilliant value

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 15/06/2021 09:47

Has anyone watched the YouTube videos where they compare British and US versions of the same brand take away?

It's interesting as the list of ingredients in the US versions of products is miles longer and contains lots of weird words. By comparison, British fast food is relatively simple and additive-free.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 15/06/2021 09:48

Here's the Dominos one.

TheVampiresWife · 15/06/2021 09:51

Yabu but only because there's never any need to pay full price - there's always a 40% off (at least!) deal if you order online. And at that price they're definitely worth it!

BarbaraofSeville · 15/06/2021 09:52

It's great fun checking the app to see what stage your order's at

Well I'm not sure I could cope with that level of excitement in my life.

3Britnee · 15/06/2021 09:54

If you have an ICCO pizza near you, go there. 😘👌

TheVampiresWife · 15/06/2021 09:54

@Ozanj

Lol you’re not supposed to eat more than 2-3 slices so a single large pizza should be able to feed the whole family.
Who says you're not supposed to?

A large pizza is the perfect size for me and DH (we usually order a side too), or me with next day's breakfast. In fact if I'm starving or have a hangover I can easily polish off a large one by myself. It's only 13 inches! you lightweight

But Asda counter pizza is dreadful. I never get the love for that. It's nothing like any sort of fresh pizza.
Jahebejrjr · 15/06/2021 09:55

When I have had teenagers round I have bought pizzas and sides from Aldi. They never complained. They especially loved the popping chicken dipped in barbecue sauce.

BarbaraofSeville · 15/06/2021 09:56

Aldi also do a little cheesy garlic bread for 99 p that's obviously inspired by some sort of Domino's product.

TheGoogleMum · 15/06/2021 09:56

Much tastier than supermarket pizza! But only suckers pay full price, get a deal. Even then special treat only as its still very expensive! Cheaper takeaway pizza just isn't as good though

Cissyandflora · 15/06/2021 09:57

My neighbour treated my children to a dominoes and I was really surprised that it tasted so bad. What can go wrong with pizza I thought? It was far worse than supermarket pizza. Tasted like very cheap ingredients. It was still very appreciated because we don’t ever have takeaway food. I’ve never had a pizza delivery in my life.

I do love Pizza Hut though. Haven’t been for years but I love the pizza. All too expensive though.

Says who, I can quite easily eat a large pizza by myself
natwebb79 · 15/06/2021 10:00

We get Pizza Hut delivery - £20 for 4 medium pizzas on the £5 pizza deal. Just go to the 'deals' section. Bargain and I prefer their pizzas.

Jahebejrjr · 15/06/2021 10:01

@TheGoogleMum You are music to marketing people’s ears.

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 15/06/2021 10:04

No one ever buys it at normal price, they get it on bogof and even then it's poor value imho.

Pedalpushers · 15/06/2021 10:04

Only fools pay full price for Dominos. That said, it is nice, if extremely claggy. Avoid if you have any kind of stomach issues.

CafeMochaVodkaValiumLate · 15/06/2021 10:16

I really rate them. We have a tastecard so get 50% off. Happy to give you a code for when you need it :)

RaspberryCoulis · 15/06/2021 10:17

@malificent7

Are they better than the average supermarket pizza though? Even the posh cheese crust ones are no more than a fiver
But you're also paying over the odds for the convenience of having it turning up on your doorstep ready to eat.

Agree that nobody orders a single pizza, the deals are the way to go.

Theforest · 15/06/2021 10:19

We make our own now.
More faff but so much better. Choose your own toppings (especially for my strange son who won't eat cheese!!) And cheaper.

Gotta have the time to do it all though.

Popcornbetty · 15/06/2021 10:22

@Theforest we do sometime too, i make twice the dough and then freeze some in balls for next time. I also make the sauce in a larger batch too and do the same. It still tastes so much better and my 4 year old loves decorating it!
