Havn't had it in years and dd wants it for a big group of mates on her birthday. Looked at the menu and they are up to £20 each!! Is it worth it?

Look at the vouchers, you can quite often get buy two one is half price or 2 for 1 on Tuesdays etc etc

stackemhigh · 15/06/2021 07:40

We've only ever bought Domino's as a deal (two large pizzas, 2 sides, a bottle of fizz) for £24.95. It's a fixed deal every week.

I would never pay £20 for one pizza. I don't even like Domino's but have to compromise sometimes.

Orangesox · 15/06/2021 07:40

No, they are not worth full price.

If there’s a big group you should be able to pick up a 40% off voucher code at the very least which should bring it down to local takeaway price if you search for vouchers online. I don’t think I’ve ever paid full price for a dominos - they’re a bit more reliable for vegan options for a friend of ours, and that’s the only reason we order from them if he’s here; we order from the local pizza place if not as we prefer theirs Grin

Baker90 · 15/06/2021 07:40

Look at the deals section. Works out a lot lot cheaper! Especially if there's a large group. Can normally get a couple of large pizzas and sides etc for around 25-30

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 15/06/2021 07:41

Only fools pay full price for dominos. They always have deals on.

Rubyrecka · 15/06/2021 07:42

There's always deals on Dom's! They are super expensive without the discounts

malificent7 · 15/06/2021 07:43

Are they better than the average supermarket pizza though? Even the posh cheese crust ones are no more than a fiver

It's like Pizza Express or a DFS sofa - no one pays full price for it.

VienneseWhirligig · 15/06/2021 07:44

If you spend £30 on pizza you can usually get 50% off uncustomised pizzas. That's how we do it - usually pay around £20 for two (DS likes a stuffed crust so I pay the extra for that).

LadyCatStark · 15/06/2021 07:45

Because you’re meant to choose one of the deals and think you’re saving money. We had a Dominoes for the first time in years at the weekend and I was pleasantly surprised to find you could get any medium pizza for £5.99 and 2 small garlic breads for £7.

They are made fresh of course they will be a bit better.

But I don't like the cornflour that Domino's dusts their pizza dough with. I think Pizza Hut is a bit better.

Chunkymenrock · 15/06/2021 07:46

Like Pizza Express, you're expected to use vouchers or deals, of which there are many. You would never pay full price. It's all factored in.

I think Dominos pizzas are much tastier than a supermarket pizza. They arent £20 more delicious, but I'd have an Asda pizza counter pizza on a Tuesday night dinner, not a treat evening.

But I'd never pay full price

PixieDust28 · 15/06/2021 07:47

Never pay full price for one, ever!
My DP likes pizza so I go and collect it and use my BLC which always gives me 50% off on collection.

knittingaddict · 15/06/2021 07:47

Yes, they are better than a supermarket pizza and no, I have never paid full price for a dominos meal. The deals give you a substantial discount.

Twoforthree · 15/06/2021 07:48

I have a soft spot for a dominoes I must admit, si think they are worth buying - but I’d never pay full price. It’s normally 2 for 1 with delivery on Tuesday, or everyday if you collect. Other offers are there too.

We often have them for a week day lunch. Large pizza with any one topping, only £6.50 if you collect. That’s good value.

Packitupwillya · 15/06/2021 07:49

Not only is it exorbitantly priced, it’s fucking disgusting as well. Papa Johns is much better but just as pricey, or find another local pizza place.

Slipperrr · 15/06/2021 07:49

Yes I think they're nicer, but also agree to never pay full price! If you Google 'dominos discount tool' it finds discount codes for your local branch, we manage to get 40-50% off usually.

Arbadacarba · 15/06/2021 07:52

I agree, they are in a different league from supermarket pizzas. They're made to be ultra-palatable. Look at the ingredients/calorie content (or, rather, don't look! Grin ). As pps say, you can always get deals. I once had to order about 30 pizzas for an event, and I paid less than half the 'list price' for them and got lots of 'free' sides etc.

Definitely one of those 'treat' foods that it's lovely to have once in a while but too expensive and fattening to have day-to-day.

Twinkie01 · 15/06/2021 07:53

Because they are laced with crack which makes you keep eating the vile things even when your buttons are bursting and you feel sick!!

(We do the 50% off voucher thing and can feed 4 of us for £30).

Warmduscher · 15/06/2021 07:53

As an occasional treat they’re fine but they’re absolutely loaded with salt.

I felt dehydrated after I’ve eaten one.

BIoodyStupidJohnson · 15/06/2021 07:57

I like the taste of Domino’s but if I have one I know I can plan on not going to the toilet for three days afterwards. No idea what’s in them that bungs me up but it can’t be good.

No, they're really awful pizza. Nowhere near as nice as the posh ones from a supermarket, or even better from a proper wood fired pizza seller.

But they don't have a multi million pound marketing budget, sell bin lid sized pizzas or have a bizarre pricing structure of stupidly high price that no-one ever pays because there's always a deal going.

I have no idea but I have the opposite problem with them

No. Dominoes is horrible. The base is like cardboard.
