Charles Dance was amazing as Vetinari, I couldn't cast anyone else.

I always imagined Vetinari as the late, great Jeremy Hardy (playing a similar role as he did in Hamish & Douglas as The Laird).

And absolutely yes to Eileen Atkins as Granny Weatherwax (GW being my all-time hero)!

...you just reminded me that Jeremy Hardy died. That's punctured my evening a bit....

David Tennant would make a good assassin but I don't think he'd have enough to do in any of the assassins roles? He'd make a cracking Oh God though, I think he'd do a good Billius.

I think David Tennant as Carcer is inspired. I can really see him doing that sudden switch from "who, me guv? I'm just a bit of a cheeky chappie, heart of gold, no harm done" to absolute fucking psycho really well.
