Washing on line OVER NIGHT

Coolmum30 · 10/06/2021 20:49

Is it just me that thinks it's absolutely vile to leave clean washing on the line over night? 🥺

Just bring it in!?

OP posts:
PatMustardsBigTool · 10/06/2021 21:28

I agree with you, OP. In fact, I go a bit further in that I won't even entertain WEARING clothes outside at night because they'll get darked on. So I go out naked. People do stare and I've had some strange comments (the police don't approve) but you just can't take the chance of a spider jizzing on you. VILE.

Watchingthetelly · 10/06/2021 21:29

@Boo2012

My neighbour leaves things for days on end!

But yes I agree. Never leave it out overnight here.

Am I your neighbour? Can't remember when I last washed my bra, I own a toilet brush and only get one dinner from a chicken. I have failed mumsnet.
Blackkswann · 10/06/2021 21:30

Can someone tell me what darked on means?Blush

OrchestraOfWankery · 10/06/2021 21:30

@bowchicawowwow

I used to leave mine out until I found a moth in the gusset of my undercrackers. That'll learn me.
You peg out your underwear? Shock

You thoroughly deserve to have your knickers used as hammocks by lepidoptera Hmm

BunnyRuddington · 10/06/2021 21:33

Washing is just on it's final spin ready to go out. Bet the spiders are getting their willies out already, although at least now I know to double check fir moths in my gusset!

lottiegarbanzo · 10/06/2021 21:33

I hung some out yesterday evening, to dry over night, on purpose!!!

Worked beautifully.

Ha ha ha ha ha!!!

Moonwatcher1234 · 10/06/2021 21:34

Everyone using the term “darked on” please stop! I’m imagining you lisping it in that cutsie voice some women use at work...you know the type...

lottiegarbanzo · 10/06/2021 21:36

Will now read the thread, in order to discover how very vile some you consider me and my crepuscular laundry practices to be. Vile is such a Mumsnet word. I hear it nowhere else.

ThePluckOfTheCoward · 10/06/2021 21:36

I send all my washing to the local laundry and it comes back clean, dried and ironed, what's all this hanging stuff on lines, I just don't understand?

BunnyRuddington · 10/06/2021 21:36

My tiktok is @Coolmum30, I go live at 6am with my morning routine- if anyone would like some life hacks.

I've got some life hacks, like leave your wine in the freezer fir a bit so it turns into a wine slushy. Then you can take your wine to the sofa and enjoy cool wine all evening Smile

Dorisdaydream2 · 10/06/2021 21:37

I will do what is right for me, hope that’s ok with you op 🙄

Twelveisthebestnumber · 10/06/2021 21:43

This is making me chuckle Grin. I have no problem with being a lazy ass and would happily leave my clothes out forever as I despise laundry. DH however clearly has some issues with either spiders or their willies as he brings it in. If you leave the pile long enough it even gets put away for you! I'm an old skank and I own it!

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 10/06/2021 21:45

I've only looked outside and it's spider willies galore!
they are excitedly shaking their tiny, rubbing-hungry penises in the direction of my fresh laundry.
well, not tonight boys.

You're looking out of the wrong window. That's the House of Commons.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 10/06/2021 21:49

@DrSbaitso
🤣

Thankfully I live nowhere near that

Watchingthetelly · 10/06/2021 21:51

@ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba I actually cried with laughter at that

ButtercupSquash · 10/06/2021 21:53

Yes. It’s absolutely vile. I bet it’s a mixture of whites and coloureds as well.
It should be a hanging offence.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 10/06/2021 21:54

@Watchingthetelly

my work is done

🤣

That's exactly right.

And the first rule of being darked on is never to explain being darked on!

Twinmammaplusone · 10/06/2021 21:57

Mine is out right now. What’s worse is I put it out yesterday....

Watchingthetelly · 10/06/2021 21:57

Maybe we should turn this into a game, points for how mumsnetty you are. Game levels include washing on line overnight, washing tea towels with underwear, when to use the hot wash, etc. It will be very not fun.

TheLovelinessOfDemons · 10/06/2021 22:01

Grin Spider willies and getting darked on. I wash my DC's uniforms at night after DS2 has taken his off, so they go straight on the line and dry the next day.
