Washing on line OVER NIGHT

Coolmum30 · 10/06/2021 20:49

Is it just me that thinks it's absolutely vile to leave clean washing on the line over night? 🥺

Just bring it in!?

OP posts:
Twillow · 11/06/2021 23:37

Vile is an odd word to use in this context.
Does anyone really care about this today? It's a very old-fashioned attitude, probably from when women rarely worked outside the home and had nothing better to do than snark about each other's laundry!

Exactly!

I think the OP is living in the 1950s!

Does she also judge people about how well their step is painted?

Cheeseismymiddlename · 12/06/2021 00:26

@OMGisthisforreal

Made me laugh, my thoughts too . Grin

TheKeatingFive · 12/06/2021 07:51

How pathetic would your life have to be to decide some is a ‘tramp’ for this? 😆

LST · 12/06/2021 08:04

@marble11

I wouldn't do it. Who wants damp smelly washing. My neighbour who is a tramp does it.
No one wants damp smelly clothes. Which is why they are washed and put out on the line to dry? Durr
Wiredforsound · 12/06/2021 08:04

I once left my washing out overnight and caught cholera from it.

TheKeatingFive · 12/06/2021 09:37

🤣

I wish had some sympathy but what can a tramp like you expect?

TheLovelinessOfDemons · 12/06/2021 09:50

@Youarestillintherunning

My neighbour has had her washing out for two nights now!! It's been 28 degrees both days, I'm sure it's dry just fjdking bring it in!!!!
Are you my neighbour?
TheLovelinessOfDemons · 12/06/2021 10:02

Mine's been out since Wednesday......

You might be my neighbour.

MrsGulDukat · 12/06/2021 10:49

I've finally caved and brought in my washing.

I can confirm, no damp smell.

MorriseysGladioli · 12/06/2021 11:23

My machine has just packed up, so it will be lines of dripping wet stuff going out at all hours for the next few weeks.
Tramp, trampety tramp tramp!

MrsRussell · 12/06/2021 14:23

I've just found dragonflies shagging on DH's pants.
It's like an orgy out there I tell you, an orgy!!!

MorriseysGladioli · 12/06/2021 14:24

What a liberty!
They're all at it!

FunTimes2020 · 12/06/2021 14:26

@LindaEllen

Is this really worth a thread?

People can forget it's out or they can lose track of time and be absolutely knackered by the time they remember ..

How did you become so judgy?

Exactly. Mumsnet used to be better than this!
maddening · 12/06/2021 14:30

Spider Willies 🕷

Washing on line OVER NIGHT
TeaandHobnobs · 12/06/2021 14:32

I deliberately hung mine out at 9:45 last night, knowing it would be dry by the time I bothered to go bring it in this morning (and hang out the next load) - I chuckled to myself as I did it, thinking about it being “darked on” and spider willies, and how I would be winding up a whole load of MNetters 😂😂😂

TheLovelinessOfDemons · 12/06/2021 14:35

People really don't get the joke, do they? Hello newbies!

ConsuelaHammock · 12/06/2021 14:36

Sometimes I hang mine out at night.

EnjoyingTheSilence · 12/06/2021 14:41

@JaninaDuszejko

THREAD ALERT!!!!!

Spiders don't have willies.

Don’t be silly, of course they do!!! 😆

Yes but it's old and tired, and never was funny
mum2jakie · 12/06/2021 15:00

@MythicalBiologicalFennel

My neighbour leaves her washing on the line for days at a time for no reason I can discern Smile
Do you live next door to me?? It's because sometimes I can't be arsed to bring it in and sometimes I'm too busy
Blughbablugh · 12/06/2021 15:08

I left my washing out last night. I'm 37 weeks pregnant and couldn't be bothered to get it in. Not sure if any spiders rubbed their willies over it however one did crawl across me in bed and so may have been got by the spider willies then.

I've been around a long time. It's not funny.

Does she also judge people about how well their step is painted? Scrubbed, surely?
