To want a black and rose gold pram for our baby boy

I'm 6 months pregnant and we've decided on getting the Egg2 travel system for our baby boy. I've fallen in love with the black diamond and rose gold edition:

I know it's on the girlier side but I think it's absolutely stunning and don't see what the big deal is about not getting such a pram for a baby boy. It's not like I've chosen a pink pram! Dh is completely against it but I know ultimately he'll succumb to my charms 😅 He is worried about what everyone else will think and say though. Family that I have shown think it's mad to get this pram for a boy due to the rose gold and glittery fabric. Is it really that mad??

My 2nd choice and Dh's 1st choice of colour is the Jurassic grey:

I know rose gold is not to everyone's taste but I personally love it and the pram make me swoon! It's on the pricier side so I don't want us to make the wrong decision.

I can't imagine any man who really cares what a pram,or pushchair is like, as in make and colour. I wouldn't care either, as long as the baby can sleep and sit in it. You can have any colour that you like though, it doesn't matter what colour the pram is, boy or girl.

Do whatever floats your boat, but £1.6k on a pram is insane. You'll be swapping it for a £50 buggy before you know it, I guarantee it.

CambsAlways · 17/04/2022 17:01

I would buy whichever Pram we both liked

Hallyup89 · 17/04/2022 17:04

Bugger. Guess you'll have swapped it by now...

godmum56 · 17/04/2022 17:06

ooops. Did babe take the pram to university?

Momijin · 17/04/2022 17:10

Just choose the pram that you like the best, your baby won't care. I don't understand this obsession with colour equaling gender or sex! Colours are colours. You're not predisposed to like blue because you're a boy. My favourite colour has always been blue and whilst it seems it's ok for me to like blue, had I been male, I wouldn't have been able to like pink for some stupid reason.

XingMing · 17/04/2022 17:10

Is the pram your newest accessory or a means of transport for your baby? As long as it's safe and comfortable, what does it matter?

Robinni · 17/04/2022 17:15

@PinkSyCo showed DH, he thinks £1600 quite reasonable with free Rolex and Range Rover 🤣🤣

Zombie zombie zombie

Maybe the people who are saying that you can’t put a boy in that pram are not brave enough to be really honest and tell you that you shouldn’t buy it because it’s pretty tacky and will be an embarrassment, whatever happened to understated? Reeks of trying too hard to impress showing off first time Mum to me. Also a ridiculous cost.

Wtf has that got to do with anything? OP isn't asking about her taste in prams. I'm sure you've got taste in stuff that some people wouldn't like. This isn't the fucking question! The rose gold for a boy is the issue.

Which it shouldn't be an issue. Why does it have to be blue for boys and pink for girls. I can't stand pink and never got any equipment in pink for my girls.
