To be pissed off that even though every other thread in AIBU has a relevant topic it could go in, it only seems to be feminism-related threads that get moved?

Looking at the first page of AIBU alone, I can see several threads that would more appropriately be posted in Relationships, Coronavirus, Education, Chat, Politics, etc etc.

People post all sorts of irrelevant non-AIBU shitin AIBU for traffic. Everyone knows this.

And yet it only seems to be feminism-related threads that attract a load of posters going “UGH there’s a feminism topic for this you know” and eventually the threads get put back in their place, just like those pesky feminists moved to the feminism topic, where only people who seek out feminism-based threads will see them.

Why is this? Why is it ok for people to post in AIBU about covid vaccines, or employment issues, or whether you live within walking distance of your kids school, but not to bring attention to current issues facing women that many may not be aware of?

They get moved because people report them more because lots of women don't want to talk about feminist stuff on general threads.

It's always been that way and is why the FWR board was created in the first place! (Way before trans things were being discussed in general).

I also don't know the intent of that post. If the idea is to raise awareness or whatever why not one of the many pieces by someone is isn't Sarah vine!!!!

I found no fewer than four welsh government policy documents, all saying mother, women and breastfeeding. I couldn’t find the one specific document the poster meant because they had the wrong date on the post. And even then, it didn’t say chestfeeding like they claimed.

3 coronavirus threads on first page of AIBU when I looked just now, just from the titles. Could be more.

There’s a thread about shingles that belongs in General Health.

A thread about wanting children close together that belongs in Family Planning.

Several crappy DH threads that belong in Relationships.

A thread about University rankings that belongs in Education.

Etc etc ad infinitum.

None of them have been moved though... weird.

It still doesn’t answer the question of why feminism based threads always have to be dragged back to the FWR board when hundreds of other threads that have less than fuck all to do with AIBU are allowed to stay put.

My guess would be that FWR threads tend to dissolve very quickly in to shouting matches and name calling far quicker than others.

Because that’s not what the Sarah Vine article was about. It was about the word ‘mothers’ being erased, which it isn’t, so Sarah Vine could flog a few papers.

True, but those countless boring threads are made of many different subjects. The FWRs are only about trans issues at the moment.

Admittedly I didn't try very hard. I typed in 'Welsh maternity policy 29 April' and there it was!

I guess I could have tried harder but it worked for me.

I agree it didn't mention chestfeeding. Mentioned father but not mother.

I have seen loads of threads about feminist issues on chat/ aibu in general that stay there.

Even a couple on this issue but only a couple.

What is the benefit in posting a thread saying woohoo Sarah vine (yes that's a good way to get people to listen to your arguments) and then when that goes start a sulky thread.
