To think people are crazy to give the covid vaccination to their children

After being approved for 12-15 year olds , I'm wondering how many would actually volunteer their child to get the jab?

It’s MATHS in the UK.

As you were. Grin
@annie335

Some of the diseases we vaccinate against pose minimal risk to our children. I’m not saying I’ll be rushing to vaccinate mine against covid but it’s incorrect to assume all childhood vaccines are for serious diseases.
But we do know that they are safe to give. We don't know that yet for the covid vaccine.

Treaclepie19 · 06/06/2021 19:05

Do you let your children have the flu vaccine each winter?

Yes, mine will be having the covid jabs once they're eligible.

Nietzschethehiker · 06/06/2021 19:06

Oh please this is just a tacky low blow. First time the idiots have a chance to truly hit where it hurts. Yes absolutely criticising parents for making a difficult decision in order to tap into some fake bosom hoisting concern is entirely trustworthy.

Anyone who uses such emotive manipulative behaviour is to be considered unreliable. If you truly truly had evidence you would not need to resort to this parent shaming hyperbole. If a parent is concerned the last person they should pay any attention to is a manipulative twunt trying to use their fears to bolster their own weak attempt to feel credible, most likely because they are so breathtakingly insecure you can only find some semblance of validation by pushing enough people below you in your mind that you can finally rate yourself as a human being.

Genuinely, shame on you as a human being. The depths to which you have sunk are embarrassing at best.

At least there's a couple with common sense. It's a brand new never been tried before technology that plenty of doctors and scientists have also warned against! We're only allowed to listen to the opinion of Sage via the BBC. There's been over a 1000 deaths already in the UK according to the governments own under reported data and plenty more adverse reactions! These are just the short term effects , no one knows the long term effects!! Quite frankly I can't see why any parent would risk this. If you've done your research fine but many haven't and I'm shocked. This is still in trial stages with no liability from manufacturers who gave previously paid out billions in compensation. DO THE MATH
Could you provide a link for an official report that 1000 have died from the vaccine please?
No, YouTube does not count.

Patapouf · 06/06/2021 19:07

YABU and that's a dickhead statement to make.

Don't vaccinate your kids, but fucking hell i hate it when anti vaxxers spread their stupid opinions.

lovingllamaa · 06/06/2021 19:08

This is obviously a daily Mail writer phisher. Try not to engage.

User27392 · 06/06/2021 19:13

Totally fine. I don’t have a 12 year old but don’t see any issue with them having it at all.

HGC2 · 06/06/2021 19:13

I’m CEV so my 17 year old was able to get his weeks ago, my 14 year old can’t wait to be allowed, all their choice to get after looking at the risks etc

Kazzyhoward · 06/06/2021 19:14

@ZednotZee

My twelve and fifteen year old won't be having it.

I have made my risk assessment as others are free to make theirs.

But have you made your "risk assessment" based on peer reviewed science or from twitter/facebook???
FourteenthDoctor · 06/06/2021 19:16

I hope they'll forgive you

FourTeaFallOut · 06/06/2021 19:18

@FourteenthDoctor

I hope they'll forgive you
Get a grip. I haven't changed the WiFi password.
delilahbucket · 06/06/2021 19:18

I am also offended that you are calling people crazy. DS is 13 and would like to have it. I have done a lot of research on the Pfizer vaccine that I have had myself.
And... WILL PEOPLE STOP SAYING IT IS A NEW TECHNOLOGY WHEN IT ISN'T!!! They have been studying these types of vaccines for 30+ years and testing on humans for several years already. They have managed to finally produce a stable protein thanks to all the extra funding. They already use this type of treatment for cancer patients.
At least if you are choosing not to have the vaccine and are trying to say why, give a legitimate reason, not some rubbish someone once posted on Facebook 🙄

Feelingbad2 · 06/06/2021 19:19

There are severely disabled kids who would die if they got covid?

ForbiddenAppleEatingShits · 06/06/2021 19:22

I don't understand why people who are against the covid vaccines and/or restrictions in general seem to assume everybody else must only watch the bbc when it's often themselves watching the sage updates and then rushing to social media to complain about it. And then call themselves critical thinkers. It like when people say they are a nice person. If you have to announce it then you probably aren't it.

People who don't want their children to have the vaccine shouldn't be calling those who do mentally unwell and vice versa.

vodkaredbullgirl · 06/06/2021 19:24
Hmm
HollaHolla · 06/06/2021 19:24

I work with some of the top epidemiologists and public health physicians in the country, at an excellent medical school. They are all, to a one, vaccinating themselves, and would vaccinate their children. They are quite rightly saying that more people die of the disease than the vaccine, and tbh, they have spent their lives researching and testing in these areas. I don’t need to be, and am not, the expert. Whilst I haven’t been lucky enough to have my own kids, my stepchildren will be vaccinated when the time comes - my DP and his ex are agreed on that. I take the advice of people who know way more about it than me, like I would with anything else. You don’t automatically think the plumber/car mechanic/pharmacist is wrong, and take their advice, as people who are more expert than you. I think the same about my esteemed colleagues.

WhatMattersMost · 06/06/2021 19:28

"This isn't a vaccine."

Yes. My conspiracy-theory-captured sister said this to me before unfriending me on facebook.

But you'll get no argument from me, because I have come to understand that there's absolutely no point in trying to disagree or change your mind.

In fact, I'm not sure why you're bothering posting, given you a) know the truth, and b) have escaped being poisoned and being controlled. Why not leave us alone to our vaccinated delusions, and be thankful?

MrsKeats · 06/06/2021 19:30

Are you a scientist?
Crazy! The only crazy thing is this post.

Castlepeak · 06/06/2021 19:30

My 12yo has already had it

She has a medical condition that puts her at higher risk of Covid complications. Pre-covid I have watched her struggle to breathe, her body turning grey in a matter of moments. Those images are burned in my brain. I wish I could remove them, but even more I wish I could remove her own memories of those episodes. Adding Covid to that situation is terrifying.

I had her booked into one of the very first slots once her age group was approved in our area.

Flowerlane · 06/06/2021 19:31

We have chosen not to have a vaccine at this stage.

I respect others who have had the vaccine and hope others respect our choice.

ZednotZee · 06/06/2021 19:32

@Kazzyhoward

There isn't much (if any) peer reviewed research regarding this vaccine and children. That's rather the point.

I'm going to wait until there is before consenting on behalf of my children.

MrsKeats · 06/06/2021 19:32

Good for you castle
Bet that was a relief.

MrsKeats · 06/06/2021 19:33

No I don't respect that choice flower
As is my right.

doggydodos · 06/06/2021 19:33

Why wouldn't they want it? Just because they're young doesn't mean they are immune and no one can be certain how each person who catches Covid will react. There's been adults with no symptoms even if they're heavy smokers who you'd think would suffer badly through to the opposite of affected badly but otherwise previously totally healthy with no adverse reasons to get it so badly.

If any child of mine was offered the vaccine I'd want them done.
