To think people are crazy to give the covid vaccination to their children

After being approved for 12-15 year olds , I'm wondering how many would actually volunteer their child to get the jab?

OP posts:
Veterinari · 07/06/2021 13:32

@OrangeRug

Would I fuck allow this vaccine near my child.

And no I am not an anti vaxxer. I view each individual medication separately.

And yet you don't seem to realise that there's more than one vaccine...
Mankini · 07/06/2021 13:51

Friend has long covid and I am clinically vulnerable - I will be strongly encouraging my dc to get the jab. You could probably say that yes, In am desperate for my kids to get it.

The more people are jabbed, the less likely it is that it will spread about and new variants will arise to outsmart the exising vaccine.

This.

I'm sorry about your friend. I hope she's been able to access support and medical care. It's still such early days when it comes to Long Covid recognition and treatment.

Explain how all the things that you were laughing at us for talking about last year are now becoming a reality this year.

Looking at that crazy fact-free rant, I don't think there's much chance we are going to stop laughing any time soon.

After being approved for 12-15 year olds

The only article I read on this opened with the information that it had been approved because regulators thought the benefits to them outweighed the risks.

The regulators are the people whose job it is to decide if it's a good idea.

What makes you think your opinion is better than that of people whose job it is to make that judgement?

Chippingbird23 · 07/06/2021 18:24

Totally agree! A Doctor has started a petition To wait and not allow vaccines for children until the trials are over definitely for long term effects. Think all vaccines are safe as can be due to long term testing before being given this one is not. If you don’t feel comfortable yet don’t let them have.

FortniteBoysMum · 07/06/2021 18:24

My boys have had all their jabs. I had the astrazenica one and am due second tomorrow. Knowing my side effects at 33 from the jab and the effects others have had from it I will not be giving the vaccine to my children without further testing. After the clot situation and myocarditis with Pfizer I will hold off until there is more data before my kids receive it.

Clearly you have missed that there are a large number of posters on here who throughout the pandemic have known better than pretty much every expert in every aspect in the whole world with the only notable exception being Jacinta from NZ

Don't ask me why they have been criticising from their armchairs rather than saving the planet

I've not heard the news today, has vaccine been approved for under 18s become all children must be compelled to have it?

I've looked her up. She's an anti-mask anti-lockdown activist who is part of an organisation which is the same and minimises COVID. It has a few members who are clinicians, but many are 'entrepreneurs' or 'experts' (without any credentials) or students. Not a reliable person.

Lavender17 · 07/06/2021 19:26

Those who are pro vaccinating their kids with the covid jab are far more aggressive than those who have understandable reservations. The pandemrix jab for swine flu in 2009 was deemed safe for children. Around 1000 developed narcolepsy. The original plan with the covid jab in the UK was to vaccinate the over 50s and the vulnerable only. Children were never part of the plan. Let me refresh your memory:

My kids have all their vaccinations, but they won't be having this one.

Really?!

'tantamount to child abuse'
'crazy'
'mentally unwell'
and willing to put my child through some sort of Nazi experiment...are just some of the posts to be seen aimed at people like me who are keen to have their children vaccinated...sorry, for hat should say my 'labrats', as that has been a popular way to refer to the children themselves.

AlwaysLatte · 07/06/2021 19:42

Yes, you are.

You seem to be suggesting that a plan can't change

Only a fool would stick to plan A when more and more information becomes available, is that your position?

Facts versus Fiction!

Trump lost the election.

Fake moon landings.

Autism is caused by vaccination.

The zombies are coming to eat you.

Slightly concerned you wrote Trump lost the election. Didn't he win and it was just those big, bad meanie liberals commiting voter fraud? Dead people voting and all that jazz.

An open letter from UK doctors to the head of the MHRA stating their ethical and safety concerns about vaccinating children:

They are absolutely right.

Tealightsandd · 07/06/2021 21:58

The Hart Group. I'm sure I remember that name from another thread. If I recall correctly, they learn heavily towards Covid Denial and anti vaxxing. They wanted no measures taken at all (the 'let the bodies pile up' approach). They've been widely discredited by most of the experts.

Tealightsandd · 07/06/2021 22:05

It's also very strange how people seem so concerned about a vaccine that has been through thorough trials and approved as safe and effective by medical authorities worldwide. Apparently because of unknown future effects.... Yet they don't seem to have any worries about actual Covid - particularly Long Covid. We know it can cause organ damage but we don't yet know how many people have suffered from this, nor do we know of any other potential long term issues.

Incorrect.

Anyway, goodnight.

*HART was co-founded by Graham Hutchinson, who has coordinated the group prior to and since its inception. He was listed as a member of the group until mid-February. Hutchinson is an active proponent of COVID-19 pseudoscience including claiming that “vaccination is pointless” and “used for massive-scale depopulation”; that the COVID-19 pandemic is an artefact of PCR testing; and that the pandemic was engineered to “get rid of Trump”, whom he praised for being “against climate” and “chasing paediphile [sic] rings”.

Dr Tanya Kymenko, HART spokesperson, has declared that she would not allow her 18-year-old son to get vaccinated. In January, HART member Dr John Lee claimed that the number of deaths in England and Wales at the time was “below the average point of deaths at this time of year”. In reality, they were 16% above the 27-year average and 20% above the five-year average.*

The HART Group.

Friends daughter, 15, has had long Covid for over a year now. My kids will be vaccinated whether they like it or not.

HazeyJaneII · 08/06/2021 06:30

This Hart group?
Another HART member, retired paediatrician Dr RosJones, is a member of the leadership team at the parents’ lobby group UsforThem. Several of her fellow coordinators at UsforThem have appeared on platforms promoting COVID-19 misinformation. In May 2020, for instance, UsforThem coordinator Christine Brett appeared on a YouTube show hosted by the Alliance for Natural Health (ANH) to oppose social distancing in schools. Among other things, the ANH is a vigorous promoter of anti-vaxxer misinformation.

my 12 year old has said no way , shes healthy , i really dont see why kids need to have it unless they are cev as they generally recover or have mild symtoms of covid , iv had my first dose of pffzier , but that was my choice , im not so sure about my dd having it though
