I fucking hate where we live and don't know what to do

I'm so upset, I fucking hate where we live.

We only bought the house in November and I just don't think moving now would be a possibility. There are jobs half done that we'd need to finish before selling which will take time to save up for.

I feel like crying every day.

It's because of our neighbours in the main. They are horrible and if I'd have seen them / heard them when we viewed I'd have not thought for a second about buying this house.

I'm terrified that we'll never get rid of the thing because of them.

earthyfire · 22/06/2021 15:04

I feel for you. I have lived next door to some arseholes in my time. If they are housing association/council you have to keep contacting them, my neighbours were council and I just keep contacting the Environmental Health. We had a shared pathway to our front doors and I'd come home to groups of people sat on my doorstep refusing to move so I could enter my house, sitting on my bins, spit everywhere, weed smoking, cigarette burns on my front door, spray paint on my doorstep, the list was endless. I was like you hated going into my garden. I took photos and logs and eventually they had to move so do keep evidence. New people moved in and they were lovely. I've since moved on from that house but thankfully I have great neighbours both sides.

thriftyhen · 22/06/2021 15:05

Whoop whoop! Hopefully you’ll
Get nice neighbours and can enjoy your new home

LazyDaisy22 · 22/06/2021 16:16

That’s fantastic news! Hope you are now enjoying your home and garden

friendlycat · 22/06/2021 16:21

That must be such a relief for you. Do you now feel much better and calmer? Have new people moved in?

I hope that you can now get to enjoy your house and slowly do the jobs that you had planned to do. I also hope that the next people are decent neighbours for you.

UrbanRambler · 22/06/2021 16:24

Fantastic news OP, you must be so relieved. Maybe the tenants will learn the hard way that their behaviour has consequences (or they will keep getting moved on indefinitely), but it's great to hear you are free of them.

Maggiesfarm · 22/06/2021 16:27

@PorkAPoe

I'm so scared that we'll never sell it because of them.
Is there any possibility that you could let the house through an estate agent and rent somewhere else for a while?
Goldenbear · 22/06/2021 16:40

I am so sorry to read this, I agree with Bruteforce, problem, anti-social neighbours should be tackled by government. I had similar and I thought I was having going to have a nervous breakdown. In the end they left.

mcmooberry · 22/06/2021 16:41

Oh great news, hope you get lovely new neighbours!

Goldenbear · 22/06/2021 16:42

Sorry, great news, good luck.

chesteroo · 22/06/2021 16:45

Log incidents and report to the council if they continue to be antisocial they can be evicted - long road but may be your only option.

UseOfWeapons · 22/06/2021 17:04

Really pleased for you, OP,🙂
Hope you get some decent people this time 💐

BlankTimes · 22/06/2021 17:18

@PorkAPoe Flowers we are in a similar situation but in social housing and I've got to wait for a lottery win to be away from this hellhole. I know you're intimidated but please try and log the incidents with 101 (I don't want to out where I am but you can request a non attend log here) but I also did get the police to come out to her when the unhinged bat chased my cctv men to their workvan Confused and the landlords if you can. I don't know the ins and outs of selling etc and declaring neighbour disputes but I've made my landlords aware of the record (note they've been aware of her for 8 years and done nothing).

I totally understand the garden thing too its the anxiety of not knowing if they're going to start if you dare to have the audacity to be in your own back garden at the same time as them. I've been going out an awful lot too. Just for walks and to break the day up so if you ever want to chat you can always DM. Whilst other posters advice of speaking to them is well meant I was advised by the police not to speak to them at all and to just call the police each time they start. After the umpteenth loud party of the fortnight I could have easily sat and cried. Can you try doing five minutes at a time in your garden just gradually getting up the confidence?

Lilibet2022 · 22/06/2021 18:33

Late to the party after all. @PorkAPoe could you pray to whichever God it was that made your NNs move out and put a word in for me please? Grin

Lilibet2022 · 22/06/2021 18:36

I hope you get the loveliest of new neighbours OP and that you spend all day in your garden for the rest of the week. Weather permitting of course! Smile

Lilibet2022 · 22/06/2021 18:39

The two women who came round clearly thought I was the problem, even though it was me who made the complaint

@Tzimi you must have had the same area manager as me. I distinctly remember showing mine the drugs cannisters that were being thrown over into our yard yet somehow I got told off for something completely unrelated. Hmm
