Two week holiday, family room, no sex

We are looking to book a special holiday for 2022 to Walt Disney World - two young children, and after researching I think the best option for us would be a family room onsite rather than a villa with separate bedrooms. Husband is grumpy because that would mean no sex for two weeks. I'm frustrated because I don't see how that should be the main factor deciding this type of holiday?! Perspective needed!!

@Coldwine75
Hilarious!! Believe me I'm far from jealous of anyone who goes to Disneyland.
Definitely one for the #holibobswiththefamalan brigade and not my cup of tea at all.
What an insensitive thing to say though, so many people would love to go but can't even afford a camping weekend. So, in that respect you would be right, some people may 'envy you'

Hoppipolla479 · 24/05/2021 15:47

@tobedtoMNandfart

How sad that his desire to have his sexual demands met outweighs what is best for the family.

Mind you if he stays grumpy he'll be the least sexy man alive so possibly this problem might resolve itself?...

Is this parody?
Littlefluffyclouds13 · 24/05/2021 16:06

@tobedtoMNandfart
Love that your definition of 'sexual demands' is someone hoping to be intimate with their partner once in a fortnight'
He's hardly demanding a daily golden shower or a three some is he?
Poor bloke.

ElderMillennial · 24/05/2021 16:09

I kind of see his point.

If you're not interested in sex than fine but why do without if you'd rather not.

You’re being very silly with your generalisation.

Serpenta · 24/05/2021 16:11

I'd love to go to Disneyland for a day or two to see what the whole vibe was like and do some top notch people watching etc. A full fortnight sounds like a lot though.

My social media feed every summer since I had children, would very strongly suggest I'm absolutely right. Pre covid it was flooded with families photographed next to grown men in mice costumes, with #makingmemories #hollibobs etc
poppycat10 · 24/05/2021 16:16

I thought you just wait until the kids are asleep and then do it quietly.

in general...

it's hours of queueing for 3 minute rides.. that's even with FastPasses and MagicBands...

its the most exhausting vacation.

anyone left with the energy for Sex .. respect 😂

Unihorn · 24/05/2021 16:32

@Littlefluffyclouds13 Mickey height is about 5'2 so more likely to be a 20 year old woman to be honest.

I also plough all my money into Disney holidays and do fuck all the rest of the year, so I'm definitely not hashtagging.

Littlefluffyclouds13 · 24/05/2021 16:36

You're possibly right and I believe they are also very poorly paid?
Not something I'm keen to be part of.
It's a racket, always has been.

PinkSatinMoon · 24/05/2021 16:48

still mobbed, but way more space just now, it's actually a more pleasant time to visit.

LittleGwyneth · 24/05/2021 16:51

Why would two adults who fancy each other deliberately go on a holiday where they won't be able to have sex, or will have to have sex in a bathroom next door to their sleeping children?!

Because they might care more about their children’s happiness than shagging?
Mumofferalkids · 24/05/2021 17:20

Honestly just think it’s one of those sacrifices you make for an amazing experience for your kids. See if there’s an afternoon kids club you can use for a couple of hours some afternoons!

I think this is the key tbh. From this site, I get the impression that some women think of sex with their partner as something they dole out once a month to keep their husband quiet

MsTSwift · 24/05/2021 17:22

Agree with the two Littles 😁

Odd that some English people see Disney as akin to a magical quasi religious experience that ones dc must be taken to or be poor deprived waifs. The Americans we met just saw it as another theme park to go to with the kids occasionally. And yes we have been not to the Florida one. It was good but as teens look back over our holidays the Disney ones are not the stand outs

What a weird thing to say , they arent deliberatly going on holiday somewhere where they cant have sex, they are going on a family holiday and perhaps sharing a room is the only affordable option?
Pinkpeanut27 · 24/05/2021 17:24

You could do a week on site which is fab and totally worth it in 1 room . Then a week off site in a villa with a pool. Kids will live Tne space and quiet as Disney can be quite intense

Coldwine75 · 24/05/2021 17:26

Tbh a Disney holiday is exhausting, you wont have any energy or desire for it!!

Kittykaboodle · 24/05/2021 17:26

Two weeks Disney??? Why not one week (Max) then a week somewhere else, with better accommodation options.

astery · 24/05/2021 17:26

Because for most of us who are not rich, we make compromises when booking holidays. Do you stay in an on-site hotel with 2 weeks of park tickets included? Or stay in a villa and only have one week of park tickets?
And most parents put their kids first.

Rtruth · 24/05/2021 17:27

It’s a holiday for him too, right?
Kids get Disney. All he wants is to go on a ride too Grin

Great idea, split stay!
Tiffanny · 24/05/2021 17:33

Do a week onsite and week in a villa or somewhere else?
