Has Dubai become a coded word on the Internet for prostitution?

debbrianna · 22/05/2021 11:18

I was reading a thread earlier and constant use of the word Dubai in association with influencers has grown so much. However, no one really mentions who pays for these trips. During lockdown the running jokes about Dubai was rife regarding influencers.
I have also read about people duped in going thinking it was with friends on holiday and it all goes wrong.

Not longer ago, lots of people were being paid by wealthy men or companies to fly of to Dubai on party yachts. A few documentaries on YouTube pointed towards prostitution. Some of the most vile and dehumanising things happened to some of them.

ONLYFANS is full of people flying off to Dubia and this set alarm bells ringing for me. AIBU for thinking this?

Bloody hell, I just googled Shock Some of the videos are unbelievable. I can't see how they could be faked.

stressbandit · 22/05/2021 16:46

Years ago I was asked to go out to Dubai to party. I turned it down because don't get me wrong the money was life changing but some girls go over there and don't come home. I was maybe 19? The money would of been easily maybe 15 grand for two nights of shagging blokes but who wants to do that?. I don't know what happened to the guy who asked me but I stalked the other girls he asked Instagrams for a whilst and they were living it up.

@Jente

Horrible place, the way migrant workers are treated is gross.
100% agree, the attitude is that money buys you whatever you like and it doesn't matter how many lives are ruined along the way. Immoral, disgusting place.
Tealightsandd · 22/05/2021 17:05

I hadn't heard of any of this.

There's loads of male influencers who go out there too.

I assumed influencers were paid to promote tourism there? Unless - are the male influencers prostitutes too?

Tealightsandd · 22/05/2021 17:10

People in glass houses...

Maybe not quite as bad, but we don't exactly cover ourselves in glory when it comes to migrant workers (likewise British ones at the bottom). Beds in sheds, modern day slavery.

As for our human rights failing of the disabled.

We need to sort out our own wrong doings before pointing the finger at other places.

JackieWeaverHandforthCouncil · 22/05/2021 17:48

They all used to go to Cannes and ‘party’ as Yacht girls. It’s moved to Dubai.

Smurfsarethefuture · 22/05/2021 17:58

Blimey I received an invite to Cannes from an organisation I work with. Its not all like that, is it? I 'm a film fanatic and was thinking of goingShock

Babygotblueyes · 22/05/2021 18:04

Lots of these countries are trying really hard to improve their image - like the Saudi stuff - so think that it is very possible they are being paid for PR rather than sex work. Whether it is right or not is a whole other story......

No!

I used to work for one of the big festivals in Cannes and spent nearly a month there every year - it’s an amazing place during festivals, and I never saw any of this stuff (lots of parties, none of this!)

JackieWeaverHandforthCouncil · 22/05/2021 18:32

My friends SIL is working out there as a teacher. She went a couple of years back to visit and said never again. As a woman in her 40s she was routinely ignored or treated as inferior. Her husband was treated ok but even he said he didn’t like the vibe.

I don’t follow Instagram but you have to wonder how some of these girls can afford their lifestyles. Having XXX followers won’t keep you in Mulberry and YSL handbags, clubbing every week, champagne, Botox, micro blading and lovely apartments without a regular high income. Cheques from random brands like Fit Tea won’t cut it.

Backstreetsbackalrightdadada · 22/05/2021 19:16

I knew yatching was a codeword for prostitution and I know the Daily Fail hint at it a lot when some celebrities are on a yatch with an unknown businessman... I’m more wondering how these businessmen make money! Not sure about male celebrities in Dubai etc

InFiveMins · 22/05/2021 19:38

It's awful.

Really seedy and actually really sad.

newnortherner111 · 22/05/2021 19:52

It is I agree awful. Yet the government will not even take the small step of the 'porn passport' which would reduce income for sites such as Only Fans, and perhaps stop some influencers going to Dubai. Or even insist on a visa scheme to Dubai so people could not leave at short notice.

CandyLeBonBon · 22/05/2021 19:59

I can remember being approached by a 'specialist' escort agency looking for women to shit on or be shat on by men in the late 90s. It's definitely a thing @PastaLaVistaBBY

Just to clarify I don't remotely look like an 'influencer' - but these sorts of 'services' have been paid for for a very long time. It's not new.

Jente · 22/05/2021 20:56

@Tealightsandd Fair point, it's pretty shitty here too.

EmeraldShamrock · 22/05/2021 21:05

No. I think influencers and young people see it as glamorous. I mentioned Dubai on the OF thread the girls in question recieve fancy gifts from men in Dubai they go for the sunshine and shopping.
Some go for breast implants too. 🤣

thenightsky · 22/05/2021 23:16

I can't see anything glamourous about lying back and letting a man shit in my mouth FFS. Not even for £70,000

blueangel19 · 23/05/2021 01:36

One of the reasons I would never go there is the type of people that love going there.

Susannahmoody · 23/05/2021 02:02

Quite, the night sky

habibihabibi · 23/05/2021 08:11

I've lived in the gulf for a long time and this is not new. As long as there is money ,punters and hookers with no decency.
In the 80s it was cabin crew servicing the locals. Then "model"agencies cropped up and they had "branches " in the UK, then Russia and Ukraine.
I knew a guy who used to be sent to scout in nightclubs and private jet willing girls back for "hoildays".
I think the internet and social media has just made it easier to freelance .
Dubai is however, teaming with hookers . It seems to be blindly accepted in even top hotels, even in daylight.
If you ever visit with family choose a hotel carefully.

Imissmoominmama · 23/05/2021 08:24

Fuck me, that’s revolting.

museumsandgalleries666 · 23/05/2021 08:35

@QueenOfPain

Rich men pay them loads of money to shit on them.
Who gets shat on? Rich men or pretty girls?
dayswithaY · 23/05/2021 08:47

This is definitely not new. I have friends who were cabin crew in the 80s and were invited onto yachts for big money. They were told it was just to "hang out" but that's doubtful. I don't know anyone who did it.

I used to go to private clubs in the 80s with the City firm I worked for. I lost count of the times I would be approached to come back the next night alone, as the personal guest of Sheikh someone or other. I even got a handwritten note dropped in my lap offering me free membership if I would visit every night and meet other guests - who all appeared to be businessmen of Middle Eastern appearance.

I guessed it was all prostitution related. I suppose I could have made some money from it, but I preferred to stay in my boring job.

BilboBercow · 23/05/2021 08:49

All of the male influencers are going too. Are they also engaged in prostitution?

tara66 · 23/05/2021 08:56

I owned a flat in Dubai for 10 years - just wonder what sort of Visa these girls were on unless they were just ''on holiday''? Even if they went to the border and back every month they could only get monthly Visas for 3 months then would have to leave.
