Boy just peed at traffic lights

Waiting to cross the road in city centre and a very jiggly child suddenly pulled down his trousers and pants and peed. Mum had a few more kids so didn't notice and did seemed mortified but surely she should have grabbed him and moved his away? She tried pouring more water over it but it just made it more obvious tbh and it was too late by then!
Aibu to think she should have raised him with better manners than to pee outside? Is this really what the world's come to?

It’s amazing how many people are happy to post about their children weeing...

Yep. Weird. Adults need some e safety lessons I think.

freakyfridays · 18/05/2021 18:28

@MagicSummer

I agree OP, bloody disgusting. Surely that counts as indecent exposure?
😂

I love MN

Did you let yours just wet themselves?

I'm assuming (hoping) you're joking?
Onestep2021 · 18/05/2021 18:35

Obvs not ideal but in a country where we let’s dogs piss wherever they want then how can you possibly care?!
Dogs not only piss but actually defecate everywhere..

LH1987 · 18/05/2021 18:40

Cut yourself some slack! I know it was probably embarrassing but he is only little.

I wouldn’t judge any mom for this, particularly as you tried to clean it.

LakieLady · 18/05/2021 18:45

@Embracelife

What was point of pouring water? It s a road which has worse . Just pee. Move on Presumably he has some kind of SEN Just don't take him to visit bathroom shops ....
My DSS peed in a toilet in a bathroom showroom.

He still thinks it's hilarious, and he's in his 30s now.

I always think this when people bring it up
JackieTheFart · 18/05/2021 18:54

If it were me, I would have been mortified.

But equally, if I saw your child doing it, it wouldn’t bother me. Genuinely. Small children get caught short all the time.

I also have twins and I remember crying when one of them decided to poo himself. I took myself down an alleyway to strip him down, bag up the poo and generally sort him out (I had many spare changes of clothes!). A very kind lady popped out of her house to ask if I wanted to pop in and sort him out but honestly I was too embarrassed.

Tossblanket · 18/05/2021 18:55

I'd rather that than him pissing his pants, it's just a child.

Slightly different to a drunk adult pissing in a shop doorway.

Geordieoldgirl · 18/05/2021 19:01

I wouldn’t worry about it. Some children have v sensitive bladders and don’t always get a lot of notice that they need to go, and then can’t always wait to get to a convenient spot (as I know from my own DC) What your son did was better than wetting himself, and I think almost everyone would understand.

tv86 · 18/05/2021 19:01

Op don't even worry about it!
my 6 and 7 year old wee in bushes and all sorts when we're out and about. Never weed at a bus stop but a few times they've had to go next to our car in a car park if there hasn't being any toilets. they can't hold on to it the same as adults can.

tv86 · 18/05/2021 19:05

Oh and also- this is a little bad of me but my lo who was three at the time wasn't allowed to go to the toilet in a supermarket- they said it was for customers only- I explained I was buying some stuff but he was desperate and could he use the toilet first. They said no so he weed outside the shop. I then went in and did my shop.

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 18/05/2021 19:16

Mine did the same when he was about 3/4 in the school playground on the grass. Must have just come over him and he knew he wouldn't make it to the school. People just laughed to be honest.

RatsolutelyFabulous · 18/05/2021 19:18

Can’t believe you’re getting so worked up over this. It’s piss, calm down, it’ll soon wash away. Only thing I’d of been worried about was any potential nonces around. Really couldn’t get myself so worked up over piss!

SirPhillipsgroupie · 18/05/2021 19:25

Well, my cognitively impaired relative pissed on the neighbours hedge a few weeks ago. I consider myself very blessed they asked us in for a coffee and asked how I was coping. That’s more gracious than I could possibly have expected, but it’s an excellent example of how one should react in these situations.

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 18/05/2021 19:27

My sister was terrible for having to go while we were out when she was about 3/4 , far worse than all my 4 sons put togeather! couldn't tell you how many times my mum dangled her in mid air behind bushes so its not just boys

She once left me and the pushchair on a bus running my sister to the nearest toilet . I did get off and follow, I didn't know if I should have waited with the pushchair at the time though 🤣

queenofthenorthwest · 18/05/2021 19:34

It's a new day tomorrow.

starwarspyjamas · 18/05/2021 19:37

Reminds of the time when I saw a small child run to the entrance way of Waitrose no less to take a pee. Unfortunately, the wind was blowing in the wrong direction, so it all blew back into the store. Been shopping at Aldi ever since

jessycake · 18/05/2021 19:43

I expect it took you by surprise , I doubt many people have ever had a dont pee while waiting cross the road conversation. Bless him it must have been a difficult call, pee his pants or just go , one day you will just laugh about it .

Sadsiblingatsea · 18/05/2021 19:58

Oh please

I used to work in a bookshop and a little kid (probably 5yo) just pulled down his trousers and just started peeing all over a stacked pile of hardbacks. I'd much rather your kid peed at the crossing than on my books!
