Ok, so I am an expert re politics but I don't know why everyone is hating Boris. No one has had to deal with the issues he has re Brexit / Global pandemic and he has pretty much pulled both out of the bag. Look at us compared to Europe. How many lives have been lost due to their childish sniping. He has also had Covid. i am just baffled why everyone is hating on him, please explain???? So am I being unreasonable liking boris as an actual human being that makes mistakes but get shit done?

@DiseasesOfTheSheep

But then when carrying out research , it's down to the researcher to make sure any intelligence they gather and research they produce is based on accurate as best as possible, rather than sorry boss, that person said it, so i just assumed it was true.

Precisely: before the Leave campaign used that slogan on the bus, it was their responsibility to ensure it was true. It is not our responsibility to prove they knew it wasn't true - the guilt is theirs regardless, whether by failing to determine its truth, or by actively choosing to use it anyway. Neither circumstance is defensible.

Of course, there's no point saying this to someone who has no interest in actual debate or reasoned discourse. It's like playing chess with a pigeon...

I understand what your perspectives are, however when researching its better to be able to research as best as possible to confirm how likely the different aspects are true or not, otherwise if you just take x word for it, then your partly creating faulty intelligence because of just assuming that what x said is true,

Tealightsandd · 08/05/2021 00:23

I like his hair.

PostLockdownLife · 08/05/2021 00:23

He treated his children and wife dreadfully when she had cancer.

Tealightsandd · 08/05/2021 00:24

And his dog. I love Dilyn.

I mean, I'm not sure who you think you are to be lecturing me on research Grin There's no aspect of "taking someone's word for it" in any of the posts I've written, so I don't think you do understand my perspective, as you put it.

Talkwhilstyouwalk · 08/05/2021 00:26

I liked him as Mayor of London, he was entertaining! Not as PM though.....

Talkwhilstyouwalk · 08/05/2021 00:27

@Aardvarkitsabloodyaardvark

Being pro Borus isn't allowed on here unfortunately Op. I mean what would have happened if there had actually been a proper opposition not an even worse idiot eh? Can you imagine if that Labour imbecile had got in. What an embarrassment.
Not pro Boris but I do agree with this!
Tealightsandd · 08/05/2021 00:27

He was a pretty shit mayor (admittedly they all have been). He was better as a TV personality.

ShoppingPrecinctPrincess · 08/05/2021 00:30

What's going on with him and Carrie Symonds? Their body language when entering the polling station yesterday was so beyond awkward. He looked like he was making a citizen's arrest dragging her along, and all her gestures indicating she'd rather have been anywhere else.

Justanotherlurker · 08/05/2021 00:30

For all Corbyn's faults, can anyone really say they think his first reaction to covid would have been to let us all die, sorry I mean herd immunity? Of course not. But, that's what Boris Johnson was advocating at first.

We don't know, do you think he would have come out and said we need to close the boarder earlier, would you complain after the pandemic that the track and trace system (any goverment IT project) would be shit.

Corbyn was a life long eurosceptic, if labour voters had let him be what his principals was we, instead of flipping it into a left/right argument we may have found out, but these hypotheticals of 'we can't say he would be shit, he would be great' is just cult like behaviour and why labour are currently in crisis.

At some point a a full inquest is going to be done world wide into the reaction to covid, until then people are using retrospective analysis when this time last year they where screaming at the government to do something! When that comes out, it will look bad/shady on every government in power across the world, pretending another style of government would have done worse/better is alternative history fan fiction that plays to personal biases which you are also a part of.

"before the Leave campaign used that slogan on the bus, it was their responsibility to ensure it was true. It is not our responsibility to prove they knew it wasn't true - the guilt is theirs regardless"

But if we the public just took their word for it to begin with, that it was a true statement , then we then vote based on partly faulty intelligence,

Justanotherlurker · 08/05/2021 00:35

I see you have both referred to the PM as 'Borus'. How interesting. It's almost as if there's some sockpuppeting going on...

Agree, it's just another uneducated labout activist.

Tealightsandd · 08/05/2021 00:36

There is no way Corbyn would've done any better. Equally as shit. He didn't exactly challenge the government on their approach. Whether he's as far out Covid conspiracy denier as his brother, I don't know, but he was snapped breaching lockdown measures. He's also one of those mask under nose people. He certainly didn't seem to be taking things anymore seriously than Boris.

nickynackynoopants · 08/05/2021 00:39

What's the other option though?

stitchy · 08/05/2021 00:40

Yeah he's a great guy with kerazy hair what are people banging on about?!?!! He's doing his best yeah!

Apart from cheating on his wife when she was undergoing cancer treatment. And denying one of his kids (fucking wow). And having police called due to a domestic incidence. And bunging his mistress ££ of public money. And describing gay men as 'tank-toped bum boys'. And using the term 'watermelon smiles' in relation to black people. Oh and Muslim women as letterboxes. And his compulsive lying - Brexit bus etc. And his incompetence as foreign sec meaning Nazanin Zahari Radcliffe had no chance of release. And being caught on tape trying to arrange for a journalist to be beaten up. And slagging of the Hilsborough victims and families. And describing single mothers as rasing ignorant, illegitimate children. And the £££ wasted on water canons as Mayor of London. And the £££££ wasted on the garden bridge when Mayor. And trying to get Tory donors to fund a nanny for his son because he can't keep his head above water on less than £300k a year (maybe don't have a flat screen tv and a mobile phone, babe). And his comments about letting the bodies pile high with regards to covid. And boasting about shaking covid patients hands at the start of the pandemic. And not attending COBRA meetings at the start of the pandemic.

But yeah apart from that (and I've probs missed out a fair bit), he is total lols and bants and I can't imagine anyone else could do any better shoots self in face

Sakura7 · 08/05/2021 00:40

But if we the public just took their word for it to begin with, that it was a true statement , then we then vote based on partly faulty intelligence,

If your argument here is that a sizeable proportion of the public were gullible, then yes that's absolutely true. It doesn't absolve the person telling the lie though. Are you suggesting that Joe and Jane Soap from Preston should have a greater level of knowledge about potential funding for the NHS post-Brexit than the person putting forward the proposal as part of the Brexit campaign?

Justanotherlurker · 08/05/2021 00:40

But if we the public just took their word for it to begin with, that it was a true statement , then we then vote based on partly faulty intelligence,

Brexit would cause mass exoduose of financial firms.

Brexit will cause ;ack of medicine.

etc, etc.

To pretend it was one sided is blinkered to your personel biad and revionist.

Sakura7 · 08/05/2021 00:41

Hear hear @stitchy

Thedogscollar · 08/05/2021 00:42

What I like about Boris you could write on a pin head so precisely fuck all.
I think @ViciousJackdaw hit the nail on the head. He is a grade A cunt.

alphajuliet123 · 08/05/2021 00:42

I thank fuck every day that Corbyn hasn’t led us through this. If only Labour had got someone decent in charge I doubt Boris would have become PM, but I also doubt the death outcome would’ve been much different under any leadership. They’re all cunts at the end of the day.

By the way we’re slowly going down the “worst death rate” list as others overtake us. Imagine how much more pissed off we’d be to be hurtling up the list while the neighbours (us) absolutely nailed it with the vaccine roll out.

Creamcrackersandricecakes · 08/05/2021 00:43

@Tealightsandd

And his dog. I love Dilyn.
The dog would probably do a better fucking job than him, the repulsive gobshite.
TruelyWonder · 08/05/2021 00:44

This Boris is definitely puppetry Grin

Nope. Genuine error on my part.
I don’t see the need to sock puppet. I’m happy with my own opinions and happy for others to disagree.

Chloemol · 08/05/2021 00:46

Brave post op, majority on here hate him, and anything to do with conservatives.

But then cant come up with anyone who would do any better, and would probably be far worse
