Ok, so I am an expert re politics but I don't know why everyone is hating Boris. No one has had to deal with the issues he has re Brexit / Global pandemic and he has pretty much pulled both out of the bag. Look at us compared to Europe. How many lives have been lost due to their childish sniping. He has also had Covid. i am just baffled why everyone is hating on him, please explain???? So am I being unreasonable liking boris as an actual human being that makes mistakes but get shit done?

He’s hilarious

mrshectic · 07/05/2021 23:52

@ViciousJackdaw

I think Johnson is a complete cunt.
Yep about sums it up...
formynexttrick · 07/05/2021 23:56

And the bus! The fucking bus!

He stood in front of a big red bus and lied to us about how Brexit would give us money for the NHS.

He knew FULL WELL that it was a lie and thar Brexit would cost us dearly, have you forgotten this?

He didn't even believe in Brexit until it suited his political ambitions! He was originally a Remainder but he switched sides as he had his eye on the PM role. And it worked, didn't it.

How can anyone not notice what a lowlife he is?

Cleverpolly3 · 07/05/2021 23:56

@hamstersarse
Charisma?

Either you’re being sarcastic or the Tripods are back and they’ve capped you

DiseasesOfTheSheep · 07/05/2021 23:57

Yes he's done a lovely job of pulling the pandemic out of the bag. Presuming, of course, he's on the side of covid...

Can you show me intelligence that Boris knew full well that it was a lie please ? When making statements it helps to provide sources that confim x,y,z.
Cleverpolly3 · 07/05/2021 23:58

@Rosegingerpeaches

Gosh, it's depressing how low our standards have dropped in this country if people are really willing to argue that Boris has done a good job.
Standards lower than potholing
formynexttrick · 07/05/2021 23:58

therefore I prefer my intelligence, when possible first hand, or at least with proven intelligence gathered so that the intelligence is raw and then analysis can be concluded based on the raw intelligence

Eh? Confused

Are you a bot?

Cleverpolly3 · 07/05/2021 23:59

@Hawkins001
That’s like something out of LoD

formynexttrick · 07/05/2021 23:59

Everybody who had been paying any attention knew it was a lie. Of course Boris knew.

I'm pretty sure the onus is on the person claiming a fact is true to ensure it's accurate before using it to influence the electorate.

JetBlackSteed · 08/05/2021 00:04

Well, you could look at what he has done with a devolved administration within the UK and put a customs border in the Irish Sea ... all because he forgot the UK DOES ACTUALLY have a land border with the EU. And that border between Ireland and Northern Ireland has existing laws that have been not taken account of.

Hawkins001 · 08/05/2021 00:04

@Aardvarkitsabloodyaardvark

Being pro Borus isn't allowed on here unfortunately Op. I mean what would have happened if there had actually been a proper opposition not an even worse idiot eh? Can you imagine if that Labour imbecile had got in. What an embarrassment.
So you're using a hypothetical scenario to back BoJo up in this?

Nobody could say how labour would have handled it, because they weren't.

He has failed as Prime Minister spectacularly throughout the pandemic and I cannot stand him.

But then when carrying out research , it's down to the researcher to make sure any intelligence they gather and research they produce is based on accurate as best as possible, rather than sorry boss, that person said it, so i just assumed it was true.

Precisely: before the Leave campaign used that slogan on the bus, it was their responsibility to ensure it was true. It is not our responsibility to prove they knew it wasn't true - the guilt is theirs regardless, whether by failing to determine its truth, or by actively choosing to use it anyway. Neither circumstance is defensible.

Of course, there's no point saying this to someone who has no interest in actual debate or reasoned discourse. It's like playing chess with a pigeon...

The bus featured a sum of money and Borus said let’s give it to the NHS ( as opposed to the EU). That’s not a promise, that’s a indication of the huge amount of money avaiable for other stuff. And clearly during Covid the NHS has had a considerable amount pumped in.

However I agree with the terrible way he handled the win. Literally just ran away from it. Maybe the fact he was actually a Remainer shows that he’s actually a good PM? He did what he was voted into do and listened to his country ( unlike Labour that assumes a position of righteousness to which anyone disagreeing is pig shit thick).

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 08/05/2021 00:13

@bakingbernie

You're aware that the death rate here has been higher than most other European countries right? In fact higher than most of the world, hardly pulling it out the bag.

As I said you really do need to look at a number of factors including population density, level of testing etc. It is quite difficult to make comparisons.

Plenty of countries with a higher population density that is have far, far fewer cases and deaths. Same is true for some other global hubs. It’s bad if you look at 28 days after testing, 60 days after testing, death certificates with it as the primary cause, excess deaths. There is literally no measure on this on which the U.K. comes out well and many of those were preventable.

Had Boris locked down when advised to the second time, tens of thousands of lives could have been saved. Instead he waited 6 weeks so the bodies could pile up high and only locked down when it was pointed out to him that the healthcare system was a month away from being in real trouble. Even then he relaxed restrictions too early to please a small number of people in his party at a time it was clear something strange was going on with a variant in the SE and cases were increasing despite restrictions.

Exactly this. The man stands for absolutely nothing but his own furtherance. But because he is a posh “loveable” rogue with a twinkle in his eye who artfully ruffles his own hair people have a blind spot to the fact that he is a barefaced liar. I guess we get what we deserve.
formynexttrick · 08/05/2021 00:15

For all Corbyn's faults, can anyone really say they think his first reaction to covid would have been to let us all die, sorry I mean herd immunity? Of course not. But, that's what Boris Johnson was advocating at first.

Can you see Corbyn boasting about shaking hands with Covid patients?! Corbyn would have given a shit about us, at least.

We've had thousands upon thousands of avoidable deaths under Boris Johnson, because of his indecision, politicking and enabling his mates to profiteer out of the crisis.

We've wasted billions on a test and trace system that's never been fit for purpose.

It's utterly depressing how quickly people forget this stuff.

I see you have both referred to the PM as 'Borus'. How interesting. It's almost as if there's some sockpuppeting going on...
