To think she can’t cut the puppy’s ears!

So I had to name change to post this. My friend was given a dog, a tiny little puppy by her boyfriend who breeds dogs Sad
Today the puppy is going to get its ears cut because her boyfriend thinks it looks better and he will have more chance to breed. She knows it’s illegal but she said he insists. I don’t know who’s going to crop this poor puppy’s ears but I honestly feel sick about this little baby being in pain. I don’t know how I can stop this, because my friend seems passive and because he said it’s happening it just is.

If you know the breed he sells put it into Google along with the area, presumably he will have an online presence.

SimGuruRu · 07/05/2021 10:56

Op what breed are the dogs??

SimGuruRu · 07/05/2021 10:56

The breed could make all the difference as to how the police will respond

Poorpup201 · 07/05/2021 10:56

He is some type of pit bull. I’ve actually managed to find his dog breeding social media page! I’m going to speak to the police

AgathaX · 07/05/2021 10:56

I'm pleased you're doing something about this. Please give it your best shot.

Would some googling bring up his details? You must know something about him.

SimGuruRu · 07/05/2021 10:57

Ok so tell the police he is breeding illegal dogs, possibly involved in dog fighting AND cropping puppy ears.

Unfortunately the dogs and their puppies are like to be PTS though 😭

HoppingPavlova · 07/05/2021 10:57

Yes, police and rspca.

babybunny123 · 07/05/2021 10:58

How utterly cruel and disgusting. As in previous comments ring the RSPCA, Dogs Trust, Police, NOW

Poorpup201 · 07/05/2021 10:59

It’s an American bully dog? So it’s going to be huge!

OP posts:
Mamamia456 · 07/05/2021 11:00

Did you speak to the Rspca, because you said you were number 1 in the queue?

Whatwouldscullydo · 07/05/2021 11:00

It’s an American bully dog? So it’s going to be huge!

So when you say its a tiny little puppy do you think its too young to be away from its mum? Sad

hibbledibble · 07/05/2021 11:03

I thought the only reason people cut dogs ears is so they can fight (as the ears get bitten off otherwise during fighting). It's all obviously completely illegal, as well as barbaric. Hope these dogs are rescued.

DentonsFringeArnottsWaistcoat · 07/05/2021 11:03

Report it as a crime under Section 5 of the Animal Welfare Act 2006. He wants them to be more desirable for purchase to the sort of people who will be attracted to a dog looking like this (ie people like him). I’d be willing to bet these dogs are not full American or Staffordshire bull breed and have some illegal mix of breeds.

SofiaMichelle · 07/05/2021 11:05

I would have money on him wearing those cheap shit grey jogging bottoms, black trainers and a baseball cap as his uniform.

Poorpup201 · 07/05/2021 11:07

So RSPCA took my details, her details and said they will send someone round for a welfare check. She’s actually messaged and said she’s going to bring the puppy round to my house because shes working all weekend now.

Which is great as I’ve found his page where he sells dogs. I’m going to report him as soon as the puppy is here.

OP posts:
GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 07/05/2021 11:11

Call the police and RSPCA now! Before he actually does it to the poor little puppy. It’s very much illegal.

Police as well as RSPCA need a copper with them to gain entry if not given freely. Police can use powers if it’s to prevent an animal suffering but RSPCA can’t on their own.

Hoppinggreen · 07/05/2021 11:12

@Madeshead0105

The logic of making it easier to breed from because of cut ears makes no sense to me.

Could you elaborate the rationale to me please?

They're arrant tossers anyway.Angry

For some reason dogs with cropped ears are seen as more desirable for some (fucking awful) people. I saw a program on it in The US a while ago
Stormtrooper76 · 07/05/2021 11:12

@Flowerlane

As the dog is in the UK and not a working dog then it is illegal.

Please report.

It doesn’t matter if it’s a working dog. Ear cropping is totally illegal in the UK, no exceptions. It’s also barbaric.
mummumumumumumumumumum · 07/05/2021 11:12

urgh, when i saw that lad from Love Island showing off his doberman with its cut tail and ears all over instagram i hoped it wouldnt promote this kind of animal abuse. Its cruel and barbaric. REPORT HER AND HIS DISGUSTING BACK YARD BREEDING

Hoppinggreen · 07/05/2021 11:13

Don’t give it back - unless of course it puts you in danger And find better friends
Branleuse · 07/05/2021 11:13

id report this, and im not one for reporting people, but this makes me sick to my stomach

DogsSausages · 07/05/2021 11:13

I would keep the puppy if you can but what about the rest of the litter and adult dogs. The RSPCA need to see them too for a welfare check.

Happenchance · 07/05/2021 11:14

Well done for not letting this rest @Poorpup201. The world would be a much better place if more people were like you.

Obviously the immediate concern is this puppy's safety but this website provides information about the other organizations that you should report him to: www.cariadcampaign.co.uk/report/

Greenmarmalade · 07/05/2021 11:16

Take care of yourself though, OP.

Don’t feel you need to keep the puppy either if you do buy it. Rescue centres can rehome pups very quickly.
