To think she can’t cut the puppy’s ears!

So I had to name change to post this. My friend was given a dog, a tiny little puppy by her boyfriend who breeds dogs Sad
Today the puppy is going to get its ears cut because her boyfriend thinks it looks better and he will have more chance to breed. She knows it’s illegal but she said he insists. I don’t know who’s going to crop this poor puppy’s ears but I honestly feel sick about this little baby being in pain. I don’t know how I can stop this, because my friend seems passive and because he said it’s happening it just is.

Tell her you will be phoning the police if she stands by and lets this happen. If it does happen call the police.

You may lose the friendship, at least until she comes to her senses and gets rid of him, but to be honest do you want to be friends with someone who is complicit in animal cruelty?

Honestly she never had any animals. This is a new boyfriend so it’s all news to me. She’s just told me it’s happening and I’m at a loss. She is so passive in this relationship anything he says goes. I’m not friends with him. I completely agree, I hate the thought of any animal suffering.
You’re at a loss? So you’re just here for the hand wringing and virtue signalling about how much you care for “poor baby” animals then? Not calling the RSPCA?

It's illegal.
You must report this. If you are in a rural or semi-rural place, your police force may have an animal welfare/countryside team.

Also report to rspca or failing that, ring your local vet for advice. They have a duty of care.
Please help stop this barbaric act.

I’m not at a LOSS what to do. I just wasn’t sure what the right thing would be. In the past RSPCA hasn’t been helpful in situations. Obviously I wouldn’t post unless I wanted some more info about WHO I can call.

Police now and do it before it happens but you would already know that.....
You know what to do and if you don't report them I don't even know why you are bothering to post.

Just seen latest post, phone the police and RSPCA now. If it has already been done at least the pup will get to a vet and a more responsible home and you could prevent others going through the same.

THIS. NOW! Please report them. It's inhumane and illegal. That poor dog and many many resulting puppies that will be ill treated just so he can make some money.

So....extreme violence (mutilation!) Of an innocent animals plus faking the look of the dog to give the appearance of "better" genes to breed from.

And you still call these people friends?

I could never continue to be friends with someone who could be so cruel.
The bit about making it easier to breed from makes no sense at all and the fact that they see this little baby as just a way to make money is sick Sad

The RSPCA emergency number is 0300 1234 999. Call it and give them all the information you know.

I’m on the phone to RSPCA right now. He’s not exactly a nice guy so the ramifications to this aren’t exactly cut and dry. She WAS my friend. This has literally just happened this morning.

Cutting ears and tails is barbaric.

Doberman's (for example) are not supposed to have ears that point up, or stumps for tails.

I love it when I see a Doberman with soft floppy ears and a long tail.

They don't give the dog any anaesthetic or pain relief either. They just do it.

These people are beyond vile. Report the pair of them and ditch her as a friend. She may not agree with it but if she stands pathetically by and allows it to happen she is as bad as him.

If I knew where he lived that would possibly be easier to report. Because the dogs he has live there. By me giving my ex friends details. It comes back to me... obviously to stop this baby suffering I will do it. But why are people so cruel

my first thought also.

Fighting dogs also illegal.

This needs reporting asap. The whole underground dog fighting scene is beyond horrific.
