Got a refund for a cancelled holiday and spent a little bit of it on a perfume I’ve been eyeing up as a “sorry you aren’t going to Amsterdam” present to myself. It is Lancôme La VIe est Belle Soleil Cristal and it is Devine! My new favourite. What is your favourite perfume?

I do love a perfume!

I love some of Jo Malone's rose scents - I have promised myself a bottle when I get to target weight.
In the meantime, Aldi's scarlett rose is pretty amazing.

Lady Millions, first discovered from a tester in store, but l picked the wrong one up, and actually went home wearing the Men’s Fragrance version! My DH laughed so much, he said that l smelled just like his Manager at Work, but he went out and bought me a bottle of the Lady’s fragrance for my Birthday a few weeks later!

For a cheap casual fragrance, l like Alien, although l haven’t bought any for a long time, after my daughter started buying me fragrances from the Next range.

From my Teenage years, Helena Rubinstein, Heaven Scent, pure Luxury that is no longer available, and the cheap copy is nothing like the real one was.

I have some vintage Heaven Scent picked up from eBay. Try there! I paid about £20 for a sealed 1970s 50ml perfume and a talc in a gift set.

@Stopstaringatmehenry, CK One is definitely considered a classic, and a game changer. It featured in the small (but wonderful) perfume game changers exhibition at Somerset House a couple of years ago.

I loved the original Calvin Klein eternity, but the current version is just flat and disappointing. Does anyone know of a perfume reminiscent of the original? I miss it!

Look for vintage on eBay. EU ingredients regulations changed around 2000 and so lots of perfumes had to be tweaked. Tragically! That's why Obsession these days smells like a sickly sweet heavy minger, whilst the gold rimmed vintage juice is magnificent still.

I had a milestone birthday recently & was gifted Body Shop, 'White Musk' edt by a good mate.
Thoughtful in a way as she knew it was what I wore as a teen..... BUT I don't wear now & haven't in 20 years. I'd moved on. Your taste changes. Sadly I never used that pressie.

I love 'Chanel Allure' for going out.
'Clinique Happy' for daytime summery days.

Like so many of us I do miss trying the testers out in shops.
Variety is the spice of life & I love finding new favourites.

Midnight Poison by Dior. Sadly discontinued so I wear Pure Poison instead.
