To never wear a mask again!

MasieMaskless · 28/04/2021 21:58

Now fully vaccinated.

There’s no point to me wearing a mask anymore and I’m seeing more and more people who may or may not be fully vaccinated not wearing them so why should I bother with the discomfort of wearing one?

WIBU to totally abandon them with glee?!

I will be wearing mine in school until I determine I am safe. A positive case in one of my classes this morning. I may have had the first vaccine but am still concerned about catching it or spreading it.

Stevearnottsbeard · 29/04/2021 19:46

You are disgustingly selfish

byvirtue · 29/04/2021 19:50

99% of people wearing masks do not have covid and therefore aren’t protecting anyone....because they don’t have covid.

If you are testing weekly and/or have been vaccinated I cannot see the point in mask wearing, you are highly unlikely to have covid.

So to the “selfish” brigade-

How much does an unwashed cloth or reused disposable mask reduce transmission? This is what most people wear.”

No, just stupid people. Advice on how to safely wear, remove and dispose of masks has been very easily accessible for months.
The person you’re most likely to infect if you don’t follow that advice is yourself, ergo stupid.

“ .... but I don’t see it as my job to prevent it, same as despite being vulnerable I don’t expect others to do it for me.”

Very conveniently for you, others had no choice and were forced to protect you. Easy to say you didn’t expect it, after the event.

You do now have a choice, make the decent one and wear your clean mask for 2 more months until every adult has been offered a vaccine. Payback time for the millions who helped to keep you alive with no gain to themselves, instead often huge losses.

@Mummy1608

If you only wear your mask to the supermarket that means you: -Don't go to restaurants or pubs -don't take public transport

I don't know about you but that seems a bit boring?

So you find taking public transport exciting ? And you have the cheek to call me boring 🤣

WiddlinDiddlin · 29/04/2021 21:51

we can't wear masks forever

We could, actually. We may not want to, but we could.

But even if we couldn't for some reason wear them forever, we could continue to wear them in indoor public places until everyone in the UK is vaccinated.

I don't like it, it makes me struggle to breath and I am exempt if I wish to not wear one, but I'll continue to wear one as its the sensible and considerate thing to do.

BonnieDundee · 29/04/2021 21:55

Tbh, masks will probably be a long term thing

I hope not

Anna727b · 29/04/2021 22:05

@Whatisthisfuckery

You’ve gotta laugh at the covid lovers.

I’m worried about having the jab. You must have the jab to protect yourself and others.

I’ve had the jab so I think I’ll stop wearing my mask. No, you can’t do that, you can still pass the virus on.

Whether the so-called vaccine prevents transition of covid very much depends on whether people are being good little sheepies or not.

Covid lovers are the ones who don't have the jab (which reduces the risk of Covid!); avoid wearing masks (thereby increasing their chance of catching their beloved Covid!).

The vaccine reduces but does not fully prevent transmission. Not everything is black and white.

Onedropbeat · 29/04/2021 22:08

I wear one because of not wanting people to shout at me when out but we know they do fuck all , I can’t wait to throw them in the bin

themalamander · 29/04/2021 22:10

@Whatisthisfuckery

The vaccine protects you. It doesnt stop you getting covid at all; it just means you wint become deathly if you catch it.

It also adds protection to others by reducing transmission by 50%. But it does not eliminate transmission.

You can still catch covid but you'll be ok. You can still pass it on and an unvaccinated person you infect may not be ok, so you need to wear a mask.

Once everyone is vaccinated, and covid rates become very low then the discussion on relaxing masks can happen but that will be a long way off.

Masks are most likely just part of our society now, as they are in Asia.

Onedropbeat · 29/04/2021 22:10

Nits is going around our school at the moment, I’d rather we enforce hair nets than masks

Jellykat · 29/04/2021 22:21

Selfish!
Its 50 / 50 as to whether you can still transmit the virus to the unvaccinated , like my 33 and 23 year old sons.. and what about those that havent had their 2nd vaccine yet, like my 80 year old mum? ..
Thanks! Hmm

BonnieDundee · 29/04/2021 22:46

I dont suppose we could ever have a covid thread without the word selfish Grin it's become the In Word to use

MissMaple82 · 29/04/2021 22:50

Makes me laugh these people that say you can still pass on the virus even after being vaccinated. Are you seriously going to wear a mask for the rest of your life?! More fool you if that's the case.

I stopped wearing the horrendous mask some time ago!

MissMaple82 · 29/04/2021 22:54

And I was offered the vaccine last month due to asthma.. I politely declined. Im no experimental monkey. Its still on trial till 2023 !

Hesma · 29/04/2021 22:54

You are a bloody selfish prick

twelly · 29/04/2021 23:01

I wear a mask and follow the guideline BUT I do not agree with them at all. I think we should not be wearing masks, I don't believe that the lockdowns should have happened - the elderly and vunerable should have isolated and the rest of us should have been allowed to continue life.
Just because I go along with the regulations does not mean I agree with them - I feel strongly that people have been over controlled

OnkasBigMoka · 29/04/2021 23:15

@twelly wow! So view is that it's ok to remove the rights of elderly and most vulnerable only control them and the rest of us can crack on and take our chances?

That's quite something right there!

twelly · 29/04/2021 23:39

I would prefer the old and vulnerable would have a choice to isolate - their decision with not penalty for isolating. Better to have a small percentage of the population losing their freedom than the whole of the population - the damage on the young is huge, undiagnosed disease and lack of screening and a wrecked economy

OnkasBigMoka · 29/04/2021 23:46

@twelly I totally disagree and if you looked at the demographic of age groups who got sick and sadly passed away -your suggestion of what is "better" is fundamentally flawed. Isolating those groups would not have resulted in more freedom for you or anyone else - or presented any less risk.

SoupDragon · 29/04/2021 23:47

Makes me laugh these people that say you can still pass on the virus even after being vaccinated. Are you seriously going to wear a mask for the rest of your life?! More fool you if that's the case.

Bless. No, we are just considerate enough to wear them until the majority of people are vaccinated. Unlike some.

SoupDragon · 29/04/2021 23:48

I do wonder if some people have missed what is happening in India right now. Is that what they wanted for the U.K. too?

OnkasBigMoka · 29/04/2021 23:49

@SoupDragon This. Totally agree with you.
