Kendodd · 28/04/2021 07:24

My theory is that voters don't care.

OP posts:
Clavinova · 29/04/2021 20:00

Hhhhhmmm looks like Clavinova is trying to get off the topic of Johnson's lies.

Would you prefer today's YouGov poll?

The latest YouGov/Times voting intention figures see the Conservative Party remain on 44% (n/c), while Labour have a third (33%) of the vote (-1).

Nothing to see here!
When was this poll? Not this week, surely? I expect to see some movement soon.

StoneofDestiny · 29/04/2021 20:14

Did you think that about PMQs yesterday? I thought he was beligerent, shaken and frankly losing it

I agree - he is definitely aware his arse is on a bonfire set by Cummings and ready to light. His distraction comments 'nothing to see here, voters are more interested in xyz......' is very telling.
If we think he stinks now (and he does) it's going to be a mega stench as soon as Cummings opens fire.

BonnieDundee · 29/04/2021 20:15

Well I think I care. But apparently he knows that I don't care.

Fucking knob Hmm

MotherofPearl · 29/04/2021 20:23

Oh I care. I think we deserve a PM who is not a blatant liar.

longwayoff · 29/04/2021 20:34

I seem to recall Arlene Foster and the DUP getting a hefty bung from the magic money tree in order to vote through Brexit. Got the receipt? How's that working out for everyone?

Peregrina · 29/04/2021 20:35

For those who say that they are all the same, I certainly don't think May was. I think she was promoted to the level of her incompetence and didn't like her but I think she tried to be honest. Besides having perfectly good taste with her John Lewis furniture!

Onetoomuch · 29/04/2021 20:37

They are desperate to win hartlepool, which they probably will do. Lots of investment promised like some kind of freeport. Funny how the area didn't when it was labour voting. There's so much corruption gone on over the last 11 years, not just under boris. Appreciate labour aren't perfect but this lot are so in your face.

Mittens030869 · 29/04/2021 20:38

That’s how he always behaves at PMQs. He has this strange idea that the Opposition isn’t supposed to hold him to account. Hmm

Peregrina · 29/04/2021 20:39

Arlene Foster - another one who trusted Johnson and has been let down by him.

Onetoomuch · 29/04/2021 20:40

@Clavinova says more about the English than anything else. Nothing to be proud of.

SmokedDuck · 29/04/2021 20:41

I think people are pretty cynical about any political leader's honesty. Looking at how the opposition behaves in general for example, do people think they show that they are especially inclined to be really honest? What about when they get in power?

But I also think that for many people, they do not see that the effectivness of governance necessarily corresponds to the moral rightness of the leaders. If they had an effective and orally upstanding person, who wasn't going to pass legislation they found really bad, sure, that is who they would vote for. But when they have to choose between imperfect people, they usually won't put "good person" above effective and generally will send the government in the direction I'd like, or at least not in the opposite way.

That is, many people tend to be pragmatists.

Yes - this week (27-28 Apr)

digginthedancingqueen · 29/04/2021 20:43

Yes I care very much, I despise the man and am embarrassed that such despicable, greedy people were voted in. Politics has hit a new low. As always, we have to wait until Murdoch and the other right-wing media barons decide who they want next.

Clavinova says more about the English than anything else.

Are you not English yourself then?

You appear to be a Keir Starmer fan - could you explain why he didn't speak to Kate Green personally when she made this remark in September;

Labour's shadow education secretary has apologised for previously suggesting the Covid-19 pandemic could be a "good crisis" for her party.

Keir Starmer has taken a personal interest in comments that Boris Johnson has allegedly made but he didn't take a personal interest in similar comments from one of his own ministers;

Asked after PMQs whether he had spoken with Ms Green, Sir Keir said: "The team have spoken to her and we have apologised.

Mittens, you're spot on in your posts.

Also, can we please not compare the usual BS coming from politicians particularly during election campaigns with someone in office actually breaking the code and quite possibly the law? This is not the same issue and simply not comparable.

On a final note, are some of you comparing Blair's spending on the flat during 10 years in office vs Johnson's spending during his first 1.5 years in office or less, in fact, as the money was spent sooner? On a flat that was already relatively recently refurbished and with him living only with his partner and one child? For clarity, no love lost for the Blairs for me, but you must see how these two points cannot be compared either.

Arrowheart · 29/04/2021 21:02

I care. I don't know what the man has to do for people to wake up to what a lying sleazy corrupt buffoon he is.

GintyMcGinty · 29/04/2021 21:04

I think that people who vote for Boris factor it in or can see no wrong in him.

Much the same as those who will continue to vote for Sturgeon no matter how bad she is or how much she lies.

If you are bought in to the project then its just all 'fake news'.

Populism is everywhere now.

namechangerforthisconfessionn · 29/04/2021 21:05

Well everyone knew he was a liar when they voted him in, he happily shagged about behind his wife's back and lied to her he is hardly trustworthy Hmm
I think he could do a lot worse and likely get voted in Sad

Kendodd · 29/04/2021 21:05

Hhhhhmmm looks like Clavinova is trying to get off the topic of Johnson's lies

Clavinova has already said on other threads she doesn't think Johnson does lie. She believes what he says.

OP posts:
Myothercarisalsoshit · 29/04/2021 21:07

Clavinova
People on this thread who care about having a medacious buffoon as a PM aren't necessarily Starmer fans at all. Your pathetic attempts at distraction and whataboutery are completely transparent.

Rupertbeartrousers · 29/04/2021 21:08

When they get in power we can see what they do, if they lie we can call them out on it. We can't do that now but we can do it for the person in power who has lied.

I don't think Johnson does particularly well on the effective stakes. His protective ring round the care homes was particularly ineffective.

I think he confuses what PMQs is about. He thinks it's for the PM to ask questions, he hasn't quite got the hang of things yet.
PandemicAtTheDisco · 29/04/2021 21:25

Trump getting to be president in the first place showed how American voters could be fooled.

BJ becoming PM basically shows how our voting public are just as stupid.

The characters of these men are not hard to determine by their past actions. People obviously don't care or don't see it.
