Tens of thousands of people protested in London yesterday, why isn’t it in the news?

What is going on with the news these days? Whether or not you agree with anti restriction protests, surely the public have a right to be informed about a protest that large? I’m feeling increasingly uncomfortable with the censorship. Anyone else?

@noblegiraffe

I hopped over to the DM website as they always have lots of photos. It seems that there were a huge number of large-breasted women on the march - or maybe they are disproportionately represented in the photos.

Anyway, alongside the 'No to vaccine passports' banners there were
'Covid-19 Vaccine Holocaust'
'Wake up and smell the tyranny. Covid is a Hoax. Your government is lying to you'
'We are in the middle of a mass hypnosis'
'Plandemic Deep State Fake Cabal Paedophile'
'Make influenza great again'

you missed 'We won't go home until adrenochrome is exposed'

I don't know why anyone would want to give these kind of idiots more exposure

@Lesserspottedmama

Clearly I need to diversify where I get my news from. BBC news have said nothing about it. Seems like an awful lot of people to write them all off as morons and idiots. I would be interested to hear their points of what they feel so strongly about now things are starting to lift.
It can be in the news and they can still be morons. Bit embarrassed for you, that you didn't bother to Google it yet made a post about it.
SunsetBeetch · 26/04/2021 08:37

@RoseAndRose

The UK has it's own QAnon. Great

And although they don't seem to be posting on this thread (vast majority of posters disagree about lack of coverage and are posting evidence which shows that widespread coverage exists) the voting as of Monday morning still has 52% YANBU when it comes to the vote.

Yes it is most odd.
Eyevorbig0ne · 26/04/2021 08:44

Funny how folk didn't seem to mind the BLM marches (along with some inverted racism thrown in along with violence towards the police) but everyone's up in arms about people protesting against loss of everybody's freedoms. Obviously colour matters 🙄

SunsetBeetch · 26/04/2021 08:57

Nobody has said they shouldn't have the right to protest, have they?

Jennifer2021 · 26/04/2021 09:01

Why were they wearing yellow stars?

Because they believe that being mildly inconvenienced by being asked to wear a mask in tescos is on par with 6 million Jews being killed.

Upamountain43 · 26/04/2021 09:06

Because it was not violent. Government are introducing legislation to dramatically reduce the right to protest so need massive amounts of publicity on any even small amounts of violence and none for the vast majority of protests which are peaceful.

This means the majority if people think the new laws are needed and justified when they are not.

Jennifer2021 · 26/04/2021 09:06

was told that I was mean for suggesting that if they caught a dose they shouldn’t get an nhs bed. I’m not mean...

I'd just ask them why they think it's mean. They won't be needing a NHS bed would they? After all it's just a bad cold right to these people right?

TaxTheRatFarms · 26/04/2021 09:20

Yes because marching for civil rights (people being killed, oppressed and discriminated against for the colour of their skin) is exactly the same as wearing a yellow star and shouting genocide because you might not be able to go to the pub. Hmm

And “colour matters”? You can choose whether to get a vaccine or not, you can’t choose the colour of your skin.

Many people DID mind the BLM demonstrations. Probably some of the same people demonstrating yesterday minded. Certainly loads of people kicked off about them and it was all over the media.
Tealightsandd · 26/04/2021 10:09

There definitely needs to be a permanent break from any protest involvement with racism or violence, but separately can't all of them take a break from London? Hasn't it had enough mass gatherings (and deaths from Covid at 10,000+)?

If they really cared about their cause, they'd want absolute maximum attending and publicity. In which case they'd mass gather in a small town or village. They won't though, will they?

HOkieCOkie · 26/04/2021 10:11

I couldn’t careless about idiots marching and chanting and trashing public spaces etc. Lol

HOkieCOkie · 26/04/2021 10:13

@Eyevorbig0ne oh I minded them!!

DynamoKev · 26/04/2021 10:22

@RBKB

Perhaps it didn't make headlines because everyone thinks they are morons? Their first moronic protests were on the news. I expect they all think the vax contains a chip...BEEP BEEP!!!
It's actually more important to report the numbers of morons we have.
Tealightsandd · 26/04/2021 10:30

They obviously think a day out in London is more important than their cause. It would definitely make headlines if it happened in a market town or village.

DynamoKev · 26/04/2021 10:31

Its essential to give them exposure, otherwise we play to their conspiracist narrative.

Nah, apparently it might upset people.

Londoners not being people, of course.

Tbh giving them the oxygen of publicity isn't the best idea. They prey on the vulnerable and susceptible. Still, as I've said, it doesn't seem to be headlines that they want. Protests taking place in London are two a penny. If they really wanted attention, they'd go elsewhere (and not another big city).

The secret is out. Londoners aren't human... they're the oft talked about (amongst conspiracy theorists) giant lizards. All 9 million residents (that's a lot of lizards) Grin
MarshaBradyo · 26/04/2021 10:46

Headlines do matter to them. So many want us to know there was a big number there.

The vast majority aren’t interested in them nor do support them. Most are enjoying things opening up or looking forwards to next stages.

These people will probably still be sporting stars for ages due to being affronted by something.

DynamoKev · 26/04/2021 10:49

I don't agree with the protestors, but once you stop reporting on protests because you disagree with the views it's a dangerous slope in my opinion.

MarshaBradyo · 26/04/2021 10:51

It was reported wasn’t it?

SquirmOfEels · 26/04/2021 10:56

@MarshaBradyo

It was reported wasn’t it?
Yes it was. Lots of posters have added names of MSM or actual links

But that doesn't seem to be good enough evidence for the 51% who have voted to agree with OP
