I work for a complete narcissist..

I'm leaving my job in a few weeks.. Currently working my notice..moving onto a new role elsewhere.
My CEO is a complete narcissist.. Today she has pushed me to the absolute limit and I've broken.. She then tells me she doesn't need me crying and putting that on her as well as everything else.
I'm on a part time contract and I'm working full time hours. I'm a single parent but never ever let my personal circumstances get in the way of work. I think I'm a hard working and professional EA. I've got 15 years of experience in the industry.
I've resigned primarily because of her.. I actually feel bullied by her. Nobody seems to tell her she behaves inappropriately or speaks awfully to colleagues.. We have no proper HR department in our company..
I hate every day I have to work here. They've kept me to my 4 weeks notice and asked me to work an extra couple of days to help because its a ridiculously busy time. I agreed because I'm a good person but now feel like telling them to stuff it. I hate it. I hate my job and I hate her. I don't respect a CEO that is a bully.
No point to this thread just wanted to vent because I've been in tears all morning.

Yay! You survived!!!

Queenofbeebers · 11/05/2021 22:33

Well done! I have to ask. Did you work in recruitment?

Newestname001 · 11/05/2021 22:54

WooHooo Pebble!!

That is all!! 😂🤣💃🏽🌈

VivaDixie · 11/05/2021 22:54

Wonderful news! Well done Pebbles

Please try and put this shit show firmly behind you. You have dealt with enough crap over the years so you need to refresh and refocus on the future xx

Lysianthus · 11/05/2021 23:24

Well done! Congratulations, and welcome to the NHS where life is fair and you will thrive. I know, I’m there. Stay with us, if nothing else, the pension is great ! And bastard narcissist bosses don’t really stand a chance. Happy days x

Quitelikeacatslife · 12/05/2021 00:21

Fist bump to you, you brilliant human

Orgasmagorical · 12/05/2021 09:00

@Pebbledashery

I just hope she knows I didn't let the bully win. It would've been so easy just to go off sick that day I made this thread. I remember sitting at my dining room table in tears just sobbing as she was so completely vile to me.. But I knew that's what she wanted to insinuate I was so weak and pathetic that I couldn't work my notice.. She didn't defeat me, and I'm really proud of that.. As hideous as its been, you're all so fantastically right that I can hold my head up high and leave with my dignity in tact. Thank you so much everyone for the support ❤️
You have such strength, Pebble, bloody well done.
SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 12/05/2021 12:12

I hope you are having a lovely, lazy, relaxing day today, @Pebbledashery - you deserve it SO much!

NoFashion · 12/05/2021 13:13

Anyone else totally perversely curious how LunaticBitch is today?

I'm imagining all the ways she's trying to contact OP.

Mellonsprite · 12/05/2021 13:25

I wonder if any presents will actually turn up or if she just said that to look good ?!? Grin

ThewaterlilliesofGiverny · 12/05/2021 13:28

She may turn up on the pre-text of dropping the presents off!

Where the presents from an office-wide collection or just from her?

WhenPushComesToShove · 12/05/2021 16:45

So proud of you OP. Like PPs, would love to be a fly on the wall and see how LunaticBitch is (NOT) coping without you. Ha bloody ha! Very best of luck in your new job xxx

Totally am!

She will be seething that her punching bag is gone.

The only comparable case I heard of was many years ago where at 1am on a mid week night, a prick boss rang rang his former PA to give out stink about her replacement....
he had been drinking.

She allowed him to rant, and rant, abuse HR, the other managers, his seniors, and tell her a few things that were very indiscreet.....and hung up.

She rang HR the following morning, intimidated what he had said, including office politics/sensitive shit, then told them if he ever called her home again (pre mobiles) she would make a formal complaint (the police).

She promptly received a huge bouquet of flowers at her new employers wishing her the best, and telling her she would always have a job at her old company.

Nice ego boost as she was settling into her new position.

twoshedsjackson · 12/05/2021 19:58

Congratulations on coming through with your head held high! I hope you spent the day luxuriating in your freedom.
The last thing you want to do is hear about your old job, but does a tiny part of you want to receive intimations about the fall-out? My guess is some sort of implosion, but you are probably more gracious than me. Your new employer is lucky to have you; you have demonstrated the old cliche: "When the going gets tough, the tough get going!" and you have shown that you can handle anything! [flowers}

Hello lovelies.. Had a very busy and productive day today hehe.. Spring cleaned my house, bought new work clothes, posted my work laptop back.. Couldn't wait to get rid of that!! Felt like a massive weight had lifted..
Received her presents.... A bottle of fizz... And a picnic hamper.
A) i don't drink (and she knows that)
B) I'm a vegetarian and the picnic hamper has posh pork scratchings in and some kind of duck pate 🤮🤮🤮..
I threw those items out and gave the whole lot to my next door neighbours who were very happy 😊😊😊

How could she possibly think you'd still want to work for her after all this? Congratulations on your freedom Smile

What a knob! Hope your neighbours enjoy it and you’ve got an even better thing to taste - freedom!
VivaDixie · 12/05/2021 23:49

oh she can get to fuck - yep pass it onto the neighbours and move on

Chin up, tits out = enjoy your little break! Grin

Orgasmagorical · 13/05/2021 06:25

Why am I not surprised at her present Hmm

MzHz · 13/05/2021 09:26

Well I hope it came out of her money not a whip-round

What a complete bitch

Tribblers · 13/05/2021 13:21

Been following the thread as have had a couple of nightmare bosses (as their PA). Congratulations OP on getting out of there, there are so many much better bosses out there (I have a lovely one now).

I remember the leaving gift I got from one narcissist - we both left the company on the same day. I got her flowers and other thoughtful gifts (on behalf of the company). She didn't think to get me anything at all, and I was given Amazon vouchers at the last minute, clearly rushed into by someone else in the team. I'd been there 7 years.

Carlottagiudicelli · 13/05/2021 16:11

Amazon vouchers are a bit thoughtless (but useful!). Wine and meat for a teetotal vegetarian is just spiteful.

LizzieW1969 · 13/05/2021 16:31

I agree, the gift was spiteful, and pointless, too, seeing as she isn’t going to see the OP again.

Justilou1 · 14/05/2021 08:53

Trolling with gifts... what a bitch! I guess you could always send a thank you card to your team and thank everyone personally and spell her name wrong, or leave her off completely... if you could be arsed at all.

ThewaterlilliesofGiverny · 18/05/2021 14:54

How’s it going at your new job @Pebbledashery?
