I work for a complete narcissist..

Pebbledashery · 22/04/2021 12:52

I'm leaving my job in a few weeks.. Currently working my notice..moving onto a new role elsewhere.
My CEO is a complete narcissist.. Today she has pushed me to the absolute limit and I've broken.. She then tells me she doesn't need me crying and putting that on her as well as everything else.
I'm on a part time contract and I'm working full time hours. I'm a single parent but never ever let my personal circumstances get in the way of work. I think I'm a hard working and professional EA. I've got 15 years of experience in the industry.
I've resigned primarily because of her.. I actually feel bullied by her. Nobody seems to tell her she behaves inappropriately or speaks awfully to colleagues.. We have no proper HR department in our company..
I hate every day I have to work here. They've kept me to my 4 weeks notice and asked me to work an extra couple of days to help because its a ridiculously busy time. I agreed because I'm a good person but now feel like telling them to stuff it. I hate it. I hate my job and I hate her. I don't respect a CEO that is a bully.
No point to this thread just wanted to vent because I've been in tears all morning.

And now you have to make the biggest decision ever.... Glitterbomb or Post-a-Poo?

HarebrightCedarmoon · 11/05/2021 12:47

Well done for getting through it, OP.

The firm I trained at were usually fairly laid back, collegiate and good with juniors and I never heard anyone lose their rag. After we merged, I was really surprised to hear on of the new partners absolutely laying into a female trainee, I could hear him from down the corridor and that he was being massively unreasonable. Even at that young age I knew he was being massively out of order, was hugely angry about it myself and thought he was a massive twat.

I would never wish anyone ill but I have to say I wasn't particularly surprised (or sad Halo) when suddenly he was no longer at work and heard he had a massive stomach ulcer. Never really saw him after that either, I think he left the firm.

Got the (fizzy white) Wine in the fridge ready for 4.30

Four hours and counting - do not log off any later than 4.30 as we will all be waiting to party!

Some people are so special and deserve a combination of the two. I wonder how that would look 🤔
Pebbledashery · 11/05/2021 13:31

Urrrrrrrgghhh is it possible to feel visibly and physically sick from someone's overwhelming fakeness.
Basically said she will be utterly lost without me and I've been a rock to her and that I'm basically irreplaceable and that my job is always open to me if the NHS isn't what i thought it'd be.... Couldn't resist throwing that in there in front of our whole company on MS Teams.. She then goes onto to inform me she's sent me some gifts through the post and hopefully I'll like them (in front of everyone) i might return to sender them..

3 hours!!!!

Tbf this is all true OP, she just won't directly say it to you in person as her ego can't cope in the 1:1 situation. The fact that she also then feels the need to be a colossal bitch doesn't help either Hmm

aprilshowers2015 · 11/05/2021 13:37

Oh how I wish you had a presentation of all the nasty emails she's sent you that you could've pulled up 🤣

StrapOnSallyChasedMeDownTheAli · 11/05/2021 13:39

Well when she inevitably moan about you not get the million things needing done today then you can suggest if she hadn't wittered on for 3 hours then things might have been a bit more productive.

I would also be tempted to collate all the shitty emails, screen shots of texts etc she has sent you and send them to all your colleagues, but I'm sure they know already that she is a bullshitting psycho.

Almost home time and you can delete the fucker out of your life.

Acarerformum · 11/05/2021 13:48

Counting the hours down for you, not long to go! Hold your head high, you must of been amazing to stick it out! Hope your new job is everything you want it to be, with lovely people. 💐🍰

Mostly this was for her own benefit in front of other people though, wasn't it? If she'd really appreciated you, as she should have, she would have treated you far better and maybe you wouldn't want to leave. And three hours!! What a waste of your time if she really does want all those actions completed to her timetable. Daft woman - you will soon be rid of her. Tick Tock!! ⏰

Worldgonecrazy · 11/05/2021 14:16

Just found this thread and think you might have my ex boss. She gets through about one PA / EA every six months. Is the head office based in Bristol?

I hope so because the thought there might be other bosses out there who are bullying evil women is too much to think about.

Good luck in the new role. Not long to go!

Orgasmagorical · 11/05/2021 14:16

She's not even confident enough to hand you the gifts in person - that says a lot.

Nearly there, Pebble Glitterball

LookItsMeAgain · 11/05/2021 14:41

Less than 2 hours to go!!!!

I would return to sender the gifts. I'm surprised though not shocked that she didn't have the gall to hand over gifts to you in person. Sounds like she hasn't organised anything and by saying "they're in the post" it comes across better than "I was a living tyrant and couldn't be arsed getting to a shop to actually have a physical gift for you". I mean if she could get it delivered to your address, it could have been delivered to the office and she could have handed it over.

She is pure and utter shite!

You are so nearly there at this stage @Pebbledashery....just a couple of hours to go.

NoSquirrels · 11/05/2021 15:07

In BitchBoss's defence (I know, WHY?) but I think pebble meant she only had 3 hours left to go at 1.30pm when she posted (not that BB managed to talk for 3 hours!) and she's working from home at the moment so BB wouldn't be able to do a gift handover in person (small mercies! Grin)

T-minus 1hr30mins...

HavelockVetinari · 11/05/2021 15:25

Only just over an hour to go before FREEDOM!

Heronsnest · 11/05/2021 15:30

GCAcademic · 11/05/2021 15:35

🍾💪🎂⭐️ for you OP.

And may the bitch’s next 💩 be a 🦔

theluckiest · 11/05/2021 15:52

'Basically said that I have to finish the 1 million tasks she's given me before logging off tomorrow'

Or what? She'll fire you?! Too late bitch!! Do what you can do and the rest she can stick up her revolting backside. Tough shit.

And I bet she contacts you after you've officially gone. You can take great delight in politely reminding her that you don't work for her anymore. Or tell her to go fuck herself. See how the mood takes you...Grin

I hate bullies.
(And 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 for your last day!!!)

magicstar1 · 11/05/2021 15:53

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for those gifts to arrive OP, I bet she only said it to make her look good in front of everyone.

Only half an hour left...you can do this!

Ladylimpet · 11/05/2021 16:24

Hope you have some champagne flowing! Utterly vile bitch she is. Good luck!

Pebbledashery · 11/05/2021 16:29

My lovely ladies...

I AM DONE!!!!!!! she blocked out 2 hours from 2pm to 4pm to speak to me.. I very politely said in having such a long catch up that ends 30 minutes before I leave today means I won't get time to finish all my priority tasks... I copied in our HR colleague also, she rang me immediately to rant at me for copying them in.. So after the phone call I replied to my own email copied to her and HR colleague to say "just to confirm my conversation with Lunaticbitch on the phone just now".... That sent her into overdrive and she sent me 15 emails one after another telling me this has to be sorted before signing off.
I got a phone call just before logging off to tell me how much she'll miss me and once again my job is still there if things don't go well 😂 and she hopes I like my presents...
I've just put a load of stuff I didn't get to do in my handover document... Bye bye lunatic biiiiiitch forever..
Haha another thing is she said she'll give me a glowing reference... Too bad I won't need one from her now 😂😂😂😂😅😅
Thank you lovelies for all the support. You've all been so amazing xxxx

Haha well done OP...you handled her brilliantly. Don't forget to block her number now Grin

Hope you enjoy the few days off, and love the new job.

Pebbledashery · 11/05/2021 16:35

She's getting blocked on both her personal number and work number right now 😂😂😂
