I work for a complete narcissist..

I'm leaving my job in a few weeks.. Currently working my notice..moving onto a new role elsewhere.
My CEO is a complete narcissist.. Today she has pushed me to the absolute limit and I've broken.. She then tells me she doesn't need me crying and putting that on her as well as everything else.
I'm on a part time contract and I'm working full time hours. I'm a single parent but never ever let my personal circumstances get in the way of work. I think I'm a hard working and professional EA. I've got 15 years of experience in the industry.
I've resigned primarily because of her.. I actually feel bullied by her. Nobody seems to tell her she behaves inappropriately or speaks awfully to colleagues.. We have no proper HR department in our company..
I hate every day I have to work here. They've kept me to my 4 weeks notice and asked me to work an extra couple of days to help because its a ridiculously busy time. I agreed because I'm a good person but now feel like telling them to stuff it. I hate it. I hate my job and I hate her. I don't respect a CEO that is a bully.
No point to this thread just wanted to vent because I've been in tears all morning.

Nope, just to spite her I'm going to work right until my last minute on my last day.
I've got this far.
I won't give her the satisfaction of breaking me.

I don't know if you're kidding but I'd seriously consider recording that meeting .

@FilledSoda

I don't know if you're kidding but I'd seriously consider recording that meeting .
Why?
Ohdeariedear · 07/05/2021 12:24

I don’t think you need to record it but I’d be tempted to draw up a handover document and then ask her to sign a copy to confirm it’s a full record of everything that requires to be handed over. She’ll say ‘oooh, we don’t need to do that do we?’ and you say ‘yes, I think we do’.

MrsGulDukat · 07/05/2021 12:35

Can you leave a note her desk on your last day.

"You are a cunt" should do it.

Good idea.

But she sounds like she will blame OP for anything and everything that goes wrong.

Just her personality.

NoFashion · 07/05/2021 14:13

Just RTFT!!

What a lunatic she is!! I'm so looking forward to your "I've finished!!!" post.

Well done you!!!

Just seen another thread about this

PLEASE send one to your boss Grin

Shehasadiamondinthesky · 07/05/2021 14:30

Get signed off sick for your notice period and to hell with them all. i work in the NHS and it most certainly does not affect your career prospects if you do that.
I was signed off sick for three months before I left my last awful job and my new NHS employer did not even question it.

Shehasadiamondinthesky · 07/05/2021 14:31

Pee in a spray bottle, let it sit in the direct sunlight for 2 weeks.
Fine mist spray her entire office with it before you leave Grin

I commented on your post further back op as I too work for a pair of narcissist bosses.

One shouty and degrading and the other just bitchy as hell but between them they do a great job of showing themselves to be the wankers that thy are.

They can't hold onto staff because of their behaviour and have absolutely no clue that they aren't the most important people in the world and we are just minions here to scuttle around and earn their fortunes for them

Blacktothepink · 07/05/2021 15:54

Spray piss all over her office...send her a dog turd in a gift wrapped box 🤣

This is a great idea. Also forward to yourself any emails or messages where she was innapropriate or abusive, in case you should need them in the future.

OP I'm so sorry you've had to put up with her but so happy you're almost free!

Newestname001 · 07/05/2021 16:26

It's the weekend! (WooHoo)!! You've got only 2?? Working days left?

No need to sink down past even her gutter level. Your good manners, integrity, inner strength and dignity already makes you a winner. A successful future both in your new job and your personal life will be the cherry on the cake!!

Onwards and upwards dear @Pebbledashery. 🌹

Pebbledashery · 07/05/2021 17:23

@Newestname001 that's so nice to read :) yep 2 more working days till I'm away from that poisonous woman.. She's been back to back today but still found time at 3.30pm to give me a task list of things to do before Monday... Meaning either staying or working over the weekend!! It just got filed into my to do folder :) and i logged off at 4.30pm 🤣

Newestname001 · 07/05/2021 17:26

Well done!! 😂

SageMist · 07/05/2021 17:33

I'm a bit confused about your last post. I thought you were finishing today? Why would you work over the weekend?

StopTryingToSellMeYourBollocks · 07/05/2021 17:42

I expect on the last day she will be either grovelling and super nice to make you stay, or really demeaning and vile to make you doubt yourself and feel staying is your only option. In which case, just respond "thanks for your feedback, but it doesn't matter now as I'm leaving".

Pebbledashery · 07/05/2021 17:46

Last day is Tuesday.. It's 4 weeks exactly that i handed in my notice then. She wanted me to work till the Friday and then I start my new job on the Monday with no break at all. I said no thank you.

OP posts:
Orgasmagorical · 07/05/2021 18:57

I would imagine you'll enjoy this weekend more than any you have for a while! Cake

SageMist · 07/05/2021 19:23

Ah I see, I thought you were starting your new job this coming Monday. Anyway, please don't work anything outside of your contracted hours.

twoshedsjackson · 07/05/2021 20:10

If it won't be too time-consuming for you, a detailed "handover briefing" could be useful.
Not the same situation, but I was due to hand over to another teacher when leaving at Easter; unlike you, I was handing over amicably.
But I started logging from when I knew I was on the way out, and passed my successor a document, chapter and verse, in preparation for a debrief at the end of the day, of exactly the ground I had covered, and which matters were outstanding.
When I saw him on the day, he just said, "I don't think we need spend time on a meeting; this is quite clear enough."
Now I was dealing with a sane and competent man, but the document made it all so much easier. I was in a different position though; we got on well, and I wouldn't have minded a phone call after I left.
If, on the day before your debriefing, you could hand over a chunky file, you would be covered professionally, and when she tried to raise issues at the actual meeting, (which I guess she will!) give her your best professional smile and say, "Oh yes, it's all in my handover folder." Easy to build up a bulky file if you copy and paste paperwork you've already done in the course of the day's work, no need to reinvent the wheel. I doubt if she'll bother to wade through reading it. Mark at the bottom: cc to Personal File (so she knows you've kept your side of the story in black and white), Psycho for information, Big Boss for information, copy for successor's information.

TheWelshposter · 07/05/2021 23:29

I am in awe of you OP and seriously rooting for you. Can't wait to read your update once you've left. Go on!!! Flowers

Clydesider · 08/05/2021 00:06

Stuff working out your notice period. All they can do is not pay you for days you haven't worked. Gives you a chance to rest a bit before you start afresh. Being a good person has only got you trodden on.
