I work for a complete narcissist..

I'm leaving my job in a few weeks.. Currently working my notice..moving onto a new role elsewhere.
My CEO is a complete narcissist.. Today she has pushed me to the absolute limit and I've broken.. She then tells me she doesn't need me crying and putting that on her as well as everything else.
I'm on a part time contract and I'm working full time hours. I'm a single parent but never ever let my personal circumstances get in the way of work. I think I'm a hard working and professional EA. I've got 15 years of experience in the industry.
I've resigned primarily because of her.. I actually feel bullied by her. Nobody seems to tell her she behaves inappropriately or speaks awfully to colleagues.. We have no proper HR department in our company..
I hate every day I have to work here. They've kept me to my 4 weeks notice and asked me to work an extra couple of days to help because its a ridiculously busy time. I agreed because I'm a good person but now feel like telling them to stuff it. I hate it. I hate my job and I hate her. I don't respect a CEO that is a bully.
No point to this thread just wanted to vent because I've been in tears all morning.

I can see her losing more staff, usually one key member of staff leaving starts the chain, especially with shit employers.

She is going to find herself at the bottom of a huge pile of shit, where she deserves to be.

last week she made one of the Senior Directors cry

Hopefully if her antics are going that far up they'll start finding the balls to do something about her.

Pebbledashery · 05/05/2021 15:02

My colleague is good friends with our Chair and said they'd be utterly mortified to know this is how she behaves..

Orgasmagorical · 05/05/2021 18:07

ginandbearit · 05/05/2021 18:34

I'm totally shocked at how she's been treating you! It's utterly horrific. I honestly think you should go above her head and whistleblow to save someone else being on the receiving end of this bullying. She is completely vile.

LookItsMeAgain · 06/05/2021 08:32

I've a question for you @Pebbledashery - if she wasn't there, would you have even thought about changing your job?

Also if she was to leave and you were to be offered her job, would you do it?

Just two questions that have been going around in my mind since I started following this thread.

You're doing great though - so keep going the way you are!

Pebbledashery · 06/05/2021 08:39

Morning lovelies. Hope you're all doing ok. I feel ok today. 3 says and it's all done.

@lookitsmeagain to be honest, I actually would stay if it wasn't for her... But that's if I hadn't been looking for a new job.. I've got some wonderful colleagues who I'm leaving behind and I'm really sad about that. When I decided to look for a new job, I applied for 3 jobs and got offered interviews for all 3, the job I actually interviewed for I got offered on the spot so in a sense I feel like staying there would've held me back. My friend said I should be proud because within a week of looking for a job I got one so I'm obviously employable on paper and in interview so that's a nice way of viewing it.

I don't think I could do her job, the industry is very ruthless.. If I was to have been a CEO in my career I'd definitely want to inspire, respect and have my colleagues trust me. I could never respect a bully like her.

@Pebbledashery - thanks for the feedback. I was just curious about whether you might have stayed if she wasn't around.

You're doing really well with your grey rock and not rising to her comments that you're doing this week.
Do you finish up tomorrow or is there another week of this?

showmethegin · 06/05/2021 12:07

I commented a while ago OP but I've read your updates and I HAVE to ask. Are her initials JT? She is just so so so similar to my previous boss!!!

Pebbledashery · 06/05/2021 13:56

@showmethegin I just messaged you.

OP posts:
Horehound · 06/05/2021 14:31

Omg! Does @showmethegin know her?!

Pebbledashery · 06/05/2021 14:33

It's not the same person 😆. How funny if it would've been though.

VivaDixie · 06/05/2021 17:38

Hi OP I have lurked but just want to say that you must whistleblow to the Chair, unless your friend will 🤔

Pebbledashery · 07/05/2021 08:40

Morning lovelies.
2 more days after today!!!
I noticed she's put in an hour long catch up for her and I on my last day.... Tempted to record it incase she says something massively inappropriate to me.

OP posts:
Newestname001 · 07/05/2021 08:54

Good idea to record that meeting. Hope she's not diarised that time after hours - or in your lunch hour? Do pushback if so.. 🌹

billy1966 · 07/05/2021 10:51

Definitely record it.
Why wouldn't you?

Szyz2020 · 07/05/2021 10:52

Hour long catch up sounds horrendous! Can you swerve it? Make sure all the handover is done by close Monday and just don’t go in for the last day.
