AIBU - to wear once only? It’s costing me a fortune in underwear as they wear out/ grey quickly

@TyotyaKlava

I don’t wear it since lockdown started last year! My cup size is the smallest though, I just wear a vest underneath tops and that’s all. 😀
We at massive jugs HQ hate you a bit 😂
gottakeeponmovin · 15/04/2021 19:56

I can't believe people wash their bras every time they wear them. I can assure you my body excretes differently from my fufu v my boobs. I wash my bra when it looks dirty 😂

Sunnyday321 · 15/04/2021 20:00

My tits don't stink, and my pits are not smelly as I shower often, so a couple of days.

🤣🤣🤣 I would literally kill to be able to just flounce around in a vest top! I'm reinforcing my straps each day at the mo!!

JeanneDoe · 15/04/2021 20:17

Could be a week. I have loads of bras and tend to wear a different one every day depending on colour. So I have no idea how often I wash them, on reflection, but I do give them a sniff every time I take them off and they never smell.

Deadringer · 15/04/2021 20:18

12 months and counting

wishes1111 · 15/04/2021 20:21

I have my fave of each colour (black, white, nude) and change accordingly to clean outfit/rotate them through the week. I can't imagine washing a bra or even a top/jeans/bottoms just once before washing unless I was an extremely sweaty person or had dropped food or whatever down it!

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 15/04/2021 20:22

Who washes them? When the straps have stretched so much that all the adjustment has gone and 'the two lads' are level with the navel, only then do I think it probably needs replacing. So that's about every six weeks currently...

SappysCurry · 15/04/2021 20:25

@ShirleyPhallus

I take it off after an hour or so and bleach / boil wash at 90 degrees. Anything else is discusting tbh
😂😂 I just incinerate mine and and buy new
lovevlyt · 15/04/2021 20:35

After a couple weeks 😬 it doesn't sit directly under armpits so don't see it gets dirty in the same way knickers or socks do

dementedma · 15/04/2021 20:37

Ages...seriously!

Yellredder · 15/04/2021 20:38

I used to wear mine for a few days - but in the past few years I’ve just found that they’re too smelly after one day, so I change them daily. I also change my tops daily too.

wingsandstrings · 15/04/2021 20:39

Depends. If I've worked up a sweat in it then just the once. If not then 4 or 5 times.

AnnaFiveTowns · 15/04/2021 20:48

I daren't say. We're talking weeks. It just doesn't get dirty or smelly. Yes, pants and socks every day but bras...

goldpendant · 15/04/2021 20:49

Also aaaages. My boobs/back don't sweat, they don't get smelly. Pants obviously, jeans/tees, yes, after a wear or two. But bras, no.

Twatterati · 15/04/2021 21:21

I can only wear for 30 minutes at the most, then I hand wash, rinse in unicorn tears and carefully blot dry with raw silk. This takes very little time, two hours at most. I'm quite appalled by the slovenliness on this thread to be honest. I do my towels and bed linen at the same time. In separate rooms of course, towels and ones undergarments must NEVER be washed together. Perish the thought.

I would NEVER even consider a soft, non wired, blue/grey tinged t- shirt bra as the holy grail of boob-comfiness. And I certainly wouldn't wear it for days at a time (sometimes 24 hours straight) under sweaty, yogurt stained loungewear. Well, I MIGHT consider it, if say, there was an apocalypse or a global pandemic...

Found THE actual holy grail of boob-comfiness yesterday - FRONT FASTENING!! No more awkward contortions (hence the 24 hrs straight mentioned above). Thank you M&S, happy boobs here Grin

ZenNudist · 15/04/2021 21:31

Until it smells. I find anything that involves frying onions makes my bra stink of spaghetti Bolognese (even when its not spaghetti Bolognese I'm cooking). I actually try and go for a run, cook in my running clothes then wash them so I can double up sweaty and cooking smelly clothes.

I dont know why but my bra smells more of cooking than the top over it!

It can be 5 or many more wears depending on cooking really.

Some bras I only wear for an hour when I'm out so I wash very infrequently. I have some new bras that I've had for ages but barely wear because of lockdown so I haven't washed them yet.

Yolande7 · 15/04/2021 21:41

@ShirleyPhallus 😂

PenfoldPenny · 15/04/2021 21:58

79andnotout Hurrah for some logical opinion!
It baffles me at why so many people feel a need to wear clean clothes every day, clean pjs every day, clean clean clean.
Unless you are rolling in mud etc theres just no need.

Bras I have two and wear each for a week. Ditto my jeans. Tops, vests, pjs I wear for three days before washing - unless actually dirty.

Embracingthechaos · 15/04/2021 22:26

I used to wear them for 3 or 4 days before washing when I lived in the UK, but now I live in a tropical climate I wash them after every wear, even if I only wore it for a few hours. I would be quite stinky if I didn't...

firedog · 15/04/2021 23:00

Couple of weeks easily. But i interchange a couple. I don't really sweat much and only a B cup. They don't get sweaty or dirty really

DuesToTheDirt · 15/04/2021 23:07

Of course bras get sweaty, unless you're completely sedentary.

SmashedAvocado · 15/04/2021 23:10

I exercise most days (and bra is normally wet with sweat) so I tend to put a clean one on after my post exercise shower and then wear it the following day until I’ve exercised again so a maximum of two days. Normally one day.

Putting them in the washing machine buggers them up so I try to start off handwashing new ones but it doesn’t last long.

RampantIvy · 15/04/2021 23:18

@DuesToTheDirt

I am when I'm working, but I'm really not a sweaty person. Doing pilates, gardening, vacuuming and walking doesn't make me sweat unless the weather is very warm.
Erictheavocado · 15/04/2021 23:24

I wear a clean bra every day. They get washed with my normal washing , depending on colour. I usually do two or three loads of clothes washing weekly. My bras are all cotton, so wash OK in the washing machine.
