Viral vid of girl having finger put in chocolate covered fruit....

the child is blindfolded - when the blindfold is taken off, a dogs rear end is put in place of the chocolate fruit - so the kid thinks she's put her finger in the dogs bum.

AIBU and a bit of a Karen (as Ive been called on Tik Tok!) to think this absolutely atrocious behaviour as a parent and the little girl, who was clearly distressed, will have some trust issues now because of this?!

My church did something similar to me when I was about 11 - I was blindfolded and told to try and bite an apple off a string hanging in front of me - but they'd swapped it for a bar of soap and I bit right in and got it all stuck in my teeth. Everyone was laughing AT me and it made me feel upset and humiliated.

Funnily enough no ones come round and offered to do that 😂😂 It’s the ‘horribleness of the world’ part that’s OTT.

I'd never think to do that to my own young child.

Teen DS if he had been a prat recently, maybe... But he would quickly realise it was chocolate and not poo.

I really don't understand these pranks.

Anything that makes kids actually cry isn't funny at all. I find these videos genuinely upsetting. Imagine making your kid cry and laughing at them, I'd be so ashamed if I knew anyone like that.

I’ve seen this and was upset at how distressed the girl is.

And the friend who sent it to me is usually completely on my wavelength and not at all crass

I can’t imagine being friends with anyone vile enough to find humiliating dc funny. I assume those who do see humour in it were the school bullies or are of low intelligence.

😂😂 Nope, it made me laugh initially more out of shock than anything and I’m not a bully or thick.

@Fembot123 tricking a dc into thinking they’ve committed sodomy (which I’d presume they won’t know but it is illegal because it’s very wrong) isn’t funny. It’s also not normal to laugh at humiliating a dc. The two combined... yep, something wrong with people laughing at that

I hate people pranking their kids. Then they'll get pissy when they're teenagers and don't trust their parents with anything.

Yeah someone I know who doesn't have kids forwarded it to me today, and honestly I thought, 'Wow that poor girl will never accept a blindfold or a game that involves trusting others ever again!'

It's the kind of thing that sounds funny on the surface but, for me, crosses a line to do to a child.

That's so cruel. Unfortunately this kind of thing has been around for a while, for example the videos where parents pretend they ate all their children's Halloween sweets, or where they throw cheese at babies. It's only funny if everyone is laughing. If it makes your child cry, it's not a joke!
