AIBU?

Viral vid of girl having finger put in chocolate covered fruit....

the child is blindfolded - when the blindfold is taken off, a dogs rear end is put in place of the chocolate fruit - so the kid thinks she's put her finger in the dogs bum.

AIBU and a bit of a Karen (as Ive been called on Tik Tok!) to think this absolutely atrocious behaviour as a parent and the little girl, who was clearly distressed, will have some trust issues now because of this?!

My dh says he would never dare prank me.
I don't do practical jokes.

I saw it and thought it was nasty. Not only because it was horrible for the little girl, but why is it seen as funny to stick your finger up someone's (man or beasts) backside??? I just don't get how it's funny or how the child's parents find it funny to trick her into thinking she had put her finger up the dogs bum. Nasty Confused

At a party when I was young a load of bowls of water/bleach/washing up water were put around the room and I was blindfolded and 'helped' to jump over them, with my feet getting wet and adults calling out 'oh little idiot, she's got bleach on the carpet!' etc. I was completely traumatised, thinking I had damaged the party hosts house and I would be in trouble. When the blindfold was taken off (of course) it turned out all the bowls had been removed and some one had just been sprinkling water on my socks as I jumped round. Each child then took their turn and some children were crying. I didn't think it was funny then or now. And yes the dog butt thing is considerably worse!

There is just so much about this that is appalling. That a parent would do this, don't underestimate how much trust in parents means to children, you are meant to be the constant they can trust and fall back on when the world is cruel or tough, not part of the cruelty. That having done this 'joke' and the child is distressed, not to have realised ' fuck we got that wrong' and apologise to your child and try to repair things, but to humiliate your child further by posting it on social media for everyone to laugh at your child.

And that if, as a woman, you think this is a shit way to treat children, you are subject to misogynistic slurs.

What the fuck is wrong with people?

I'm not on tic tok- teen ds warned me away and I can see why! (He's not on it either).

That's just really awful. You never know if someone will find this sort of thing funny or damaging so why take the risk of finding out?

It is cruel to the dog. It is beyond bad.

You’re not being a “Karen”, you’re being an adult. What a horrible thing to do to anyone, but especially a child. It’s wrong on so many fronts. And then to post it on the internet...Absolutely despicable behaviour.

I'm so glad I'm not on Tik Tok to have to watch this guff.

I think it's cruel and unfunny to do something like that to a child.

Pick on someone your own size.

I saw this too and found it really disturbing to want to prank your child into thinking they'd inserted their finger into a dog's anus. Just really weird imo.

Call me Karen! Disgusting!

I saw it and was disgusted, if that makes me a Karen at 29 then so be it. People who find that sort of thing funny are thick.

😂

to the dog? Why? you think he'll be traumatised by the food waste or something?

That’s very cruel. Why would you do that to your child? So that they can be laughed at, that’s the only reason I can think of. The bullying kids have grown up and become bullying parents. Grim.
I hate the Karen misogyny!

It is very weird and disturbing isn’t it. The little girl seemed to be very young too. Around 6 or 7.
It’s the kind of thing a bully would do on a playground. But if you look at the video closely, it looks like it was a mum and a grandmother doing it.
Poor thing should be happy and oblivious to the horribleness of ye world...
Not having her finger “fake” shoved up a dogs star hole

It made me laugh, I wouldn’t do something like that to my kids though let alone put it in the internet

Report
LadyOfTheRingsS · 12/04/2021 18:44

Lol, the dog might be pushed away by the kid from now on though. Cause the kids just going to associate the dog with her finger being shoved up it’s bum and having poop (but really chocolate spread!) all over her finger
