To ask how I can lose 2 stone in the quickest way possible?

I know why I’m overweight, and I know a quick fix isn’t usually the answer but I’ve just found out I’m eligible for IVF on the NHS. The only downside is I have to lose 2 stone to bring my BMI below 30.

I’m in shock as I’d got my head around the fact we’d have to use savings/ get a loan and when you pay privately, your BMI is less of an issue.

Apparently there’s no waiting list either so the sooner I lose the weight, the sooner we can crack on. Time isn’t on our side, I’m nearing 40 and have been recommended starting ASAP.

I’ve done meal replacement diets in the past and the weight loss was quick but I couldn’t exercise. To be honest, I’ve done every diet ever. Sad
Any advice would be gratefully received.

With that sort of incentive, I would go for a VLCD like Cambridge diet.

I lost two stone in approx 2 months. If you've done one before you know the hazards like constipation and losing your regular eating patterns.

Good luck!! How exciting!!

AiryFairyMum · 13/04/2021 11:56

It sounds like you're sorted for your plan. I did similar and lost the weight in 2 months. It was the best thing I ever did - the IVF worked first time (when nothing else did) and it gave me my daughter. Good luck OP, we all have our fingers crossed for you!

Aw thank you, it was hard, but it's stayed off thank God, started again yesterday hoping to have lost a couple more before summer x

bathmatty · 13/04/2021 12:26

@Katieeb24 thanks for the update, did you just stick to 1200? Well done!!

BlueDahlia69 · 13/04/2021 12:43

This thread is so positive Im glad I stumbled upon it 🌸

Katieeb24 · 13/04/2021 13:07

@bathmatty sometimes I do go over when I want too not by a massive amount though or if I want a treat day I usually make sure I don’t go over the daily allowance allowed for a woman depending on your height it’s around 2,000 I use a app called nutra check and it also has pictures of items I try to insert everything the night before I find that helps... so if I know I’m having McDonald’s tomorrow I’ll put it all in and work my lunch and breakfast around that... I also have my Apple Watch connected to the app which helps as adds your calories you’ve burned from doing steps so sometimes I may go up to 1,500 but as I’ve been walking all day I still lose

bathmatty · 13/04/2021 13:10

Thank you!

@withmycoffee I don't think you offended @SummerWillow - I think she was saying it was very unfair that you went through all that and didn't lose much!

SummerWillow · 13/04/2021 14:22

@withmycoffee oh sorry, I wasn't offended!! I meant it wasn't fair that you only lost 0.5kg after going through all that!

Ddot · 13/04/2021 18:20

Dont forget to tape baby picture to purse, stops you buying naughty stuff

Weight Watchers.
I put on 2.5 stone and lost my first stone in just 4 weeks. I lost 2.5 stone in total and have continued to successfully keep it off.

What I loved about doing it was that it teaches you how to have a healthier day to day diet. It focuses on the nutritional value of food, rather than just counting calories. It’s changed my entire mindset.

The other thing that I found worked for me when I came to a bit of sticking point at the end of the weight loss, was Intermittent Fasting. I tried the 16:8 one, which is where you have a set 8 hour window each day that you eat your meals in and fast for the other 16 hours (many of which you’d be asleep for, so makes it easier to stick to).

ArDali1 · 13/04/2021 20:30

Best and most effective way is calorie counting, you don't even have to change what you eat ( maybe just cut down on any sugary foods and junk) and just walk A LOT, but if you can do some cardio workout 20-30mins 2-3 times a week, even better.

Ginandcrispsarebliss · 14/04/2021 09:01

I lost 4 Stone on slimming World but also cut out pasta and rice. I love bread but only eat Danish but it still gives me my carb fix.
I walk alot with my dog and was fitting in exercise classes before lockdown.
I bought Davina's DVD's and did the exercises at home when I can.
Good luck with IVF and I hope you in the future you will have your little bundle of happiness.

Ginandcrispsarebliss · 14/04/2021 09:02

Meant to add, I have one cheat day a week.

ImFree2doasiwant · 14/04/2021 21:28

Fast 800 to start with will get you on a roll

Ticktock40 · 15/04/2021 09:45

Thanks again for all your responses. They’ve been so helpful.

@ImFree2doasiwant I’ve had a good week, thanks for asking. Have tracked calories on MFP and cut out junk! I’ve managed 1200-1400 calories since Monday, have got my 10000 steps in and have done couch25k too. I’m on week 4 and I’m so unfit!

I’ve ordered the fast 800 book too as I’m going to give that a try when I’m back at work next week. How’s your week been?

I'm
Starting the fast 800 today after reading this thread. I'd love to join you if you start a new thread.

ImFree2doasiwant · 15/04/2021 12:45

@Ticktock40 I've faffed around but had a good couple of days now. I'm using up some shakes,so have two a day (breakfast and lunch) and a normal healthy dinner in the evening, plus a couple of healthy snacks. I'm hoping it'll give me a but of a kick start, can't wait to get the first stone gone!

Well done on the steps, and sticking to your calorie counting. I've tried fir a few months now to take a more moderate approach, someone I know has lost60lbs, at a rate of 3 or 4 lbs a month which is GREAT but I just dobt seem able to eat 'normal healthy. ' Its self or nothing for me

ImFree2doasiwant · 15/04/2021 12:45

All or nothing
