Will you be spending 3 hours queuing to get into IKEA and another 2 hours trying to pay?

I'm desperate for some fabric so Dunelm or John Lewis for me

OP posts:
PumpkinPie2016 · 11/04/2021 12:55

None -I don't want to be caught up in all of the queues.

I could do with popping to Matalan later in the week as I need some new work clothes as I have lost a lot of weight over the last year so all my clothes are big on me. However, I could manage a bit longer if needs be.

Me and DS will go to the village library one afternoon this week but it's a small place and won't be busy.

We have been visiting parks/having takeout from a cafe this last week so might do more of that.

time4areboot · 11/04/2021 12:55

Getting hair done in the morning - then TK Maxx in the afternoon (if not too much of a queue) - down to one pair of jeans at the moment. Also a poke about the Charity Shops!! Hopefully later on in the week I'll get to a bookshop - I've got a book token that I've been saving for a real-life book shop experience....

Iheartmysmart · 11/04/2021 12:58

Working tomorrow so no shopping planned. It’s not going to be much fun anyway. Masks, sanitiser, queuing - not really the nice mooch around shops with a few friends followed by lunch and a glass of wine. I think there are around 50 boarded up units in our town centre which will probably never reopen as shops. All a bit sad to be honest.

moochingtothepub · 11/04/2021 12:58

Er, none. I do need things having not been clothes shopping since feb 2020, and we've moved house so need house things but I don't do crowds. We'll go to the mall in a week or so in the evening when it's quieter - M&S here we come

DianaT1969 · 11/04/2021 13:04

Working tomorrow, but looking forward to H&M for basics and TKMaxx for sunglasses.

RueDeWakening · 11/04/2021 13:09

Taking DD for her first ever proper haircut, she's nearly 14 :o other than trims that I forced on her and did at home she's never wanted her hair cut...until now. It's apparently going from hip length to "short, but a bit longer on one side" tomorrow afternoon.

And it's a complete secret apart from close family, she's hoping to make an entrance when she goes back to school in a week's time!

Disfordarkchocolate · 11/04/2021 13:14

I'm going to wander round my local shops. I've just spent all my spare money on some new glasses though so it will be window shopping only till pay day.

elliejjtiny · 11/04/2021 13:16

None. I'm a skint carer for my autistic son who can't socially distance so we are stuck at home for the foreseeable future apart from me going for a walk when he goes back to school.

Doihavetogotoworkdotcom1 · 11/04/2021 13:20

None. I’ve really not missed the shops at all.

Whereiswarmth · 11/04/2021 13:21

Probably tk max, dc need bed sheets and pillow cases! Also h and m for swimming costume

For dd

Spacie · 11/04/2021 13:23

I'm going to buy a car (hopefully). My trusty, ancient Fiesta went down a pothole last month and is sadly no more.

likeafishneedsabike · 11/04/2021 13:26

@ChardonnaysPetDragon

I won't be visiting any tomorrow.

My life doesn't revolve around shopping.

Unnecessarily snippy! Many posters on here are talking about getting essentials eg. shoes for children whose feet have grown. If you’re not interested in shopping then skip the thread.
Pebbles16 · 11/04/2021 13:27

I rarely shop but I am looking forward to the watch repair shop being open as both of my watches have been out of action for months

Mookie81 · 11/04/2021 13:31

Dreams, as I need a new bed and have seen one on their website, but I want to see it in real life.
Primark as I need leggings.

Norwaydidnthappen · 11/04/2021 13:32

None but I will be sending DH to the shop to return the Hunter wellies he bought me for Christmas, they don’t fit.

Marmite27 · 11/04/2021 13:35

Mountain warehouse and Clarke’s.

Kids are still on half term and desperate for new shoes, walking shoes and wellie socks.

Woodpecker22 · 11/04/2021 13:36

I am going to take my autistic son for a train ride. He has been asking daily to go since last March. Hopefully it will live up to expectations.

I hope you have a lovely time. Train journeys are something I’ve always loved and I miss them so much.

missymoomoomoomoomoo · 11/04/2021 13:51

Charity shops to donate some of my grandmothees clothing and need to buy my DS a coat

VanillaAndOrange · 11/04/2021 13:57

I am desperate to go to a local independent shop that sells a lot of Made In Italy clothing (linen clothes in lovely shapes, one of my favourite brands for summer especially)). I haven't bought anything new for a long time because I've been eagerly anticipating that moment. I saw recently that they have changed the window display, so I'm reasonably confident they are re-opening this week.

And I want to get my favourite boots re-heeled.

Bloodybridget · 11/04/2021 14:00

If I was going anywhere it would be John Lewis, but I'm waiting for three weeks till I'm a fortnight past my second vaccination. Wishing all the shoppers a very happy day!

BiBabbles · 11/04/2021 14:02

No plans for tomorrow, but I'm planning in the next week or so to call up a some of the local charity shops about donations & I'm looking forward in a month or so to having a nice wander around a few of them.

peboh · 11/04/2021 14:05

Asda, Next and Dunelm. I need to grab some warmer weather clothes for dd, and I hate shopping online for her because she's a funny bugger to pick sizes for and I need to pick up some curtains, and I refuse to buy them online without seeing what I'm buying.

Goleor · 11/04/2021 14:26

At some stage I need to buy maternity underwear and some bigger tracksuits. Also need to start on my maternity summer wardrobe

99victoria · 11/04/2021 14:39

I won't be visiting any shops until mask-wearing ceases to be mandatory. I wear glasses which steam up all the time and I suffer from bad hot flushes - wearing a mask just makes them 10 times worse - so going into shops is not enjoyable for me.

I have managed the last year online. I will continue to do so until I can shop without a mask
