At a risk of being sent to the Tower, whilst I think it is sad that Prince Philip has died, am I alone in being amazed at the constant repetitive TV about his life.
It’s just going over snd over same old stuff. And I’d like to watch some normal TV !

IABU - YES
IANBU - NO

@Thisisnotreallymyname

I’m missing Richard Osman’s House of Games weekly final 😢
Me too! Check Saturday's listings just in case, or try catch-up.
Jumpers268 · 09/04/2021 20:39

@Piggywaspushed proper laughed out loud 😂😂😂😂. Still laughing 😂😂😂😂.

MistyMinge2 · 09/04/2021 20:40

Yanbu. Not impressed at the Masterchef final being postponed.

I'm sorry for the queen and his family, but at the end of the day he was a 99 year old man who has reached the natural end of his life. A documentary or two I could understand, but the media coverage is completely ott.

Cokecake · 09/04/2021 20:40

Was looking forward for masterchef final and eastenders ;(

CurlyhairedAssassin · 09/04/2021 20:41

my dh just said he read theyve cleared the schedules for tomorrow aswell

Well, if there is any good feeling left towards the monarchy I think this will just about kill most of it off......

My teens were barely aware of his existence. They get confused between him and Chaz Pops.

viques · 09/04/2021 20:41

@randomer

"the dead have many friends"
Yes, in a couple of weeks Philip, His Real Story* will be on our screens. Then Andrew and Fergie will announce their re marriage and we will be back to normal RF sniping and bitching.

*other titles will be available.

Norugratsatall · 09/04/2021 20:41

Yanbu. It's on every channel right up to the news! I was looking forward to the Masterchef final!

AlwaysLatte · 09/04/2021 20:46

Repetitive threads also.
But it is very big news. He has been here longer than most of us and has been a big part of the monarchy

Pixxie7 · 09/04/2021 20:47

Totally agree but finding tb in general very repetitive at the moment. However as others have said there’s a lot more choice with freeview etc.

AlwaysLatte · 09/04/2021 20:48

Repetitive threads also.

  1. It's big news
  2. Use Netflix something
Mummy195 · 09/04/2021 20:48

YANBU

It's a loop on every channel all day.

For some silly reason, I had assumed we would have this kind of wall to wall coverage when we were paying our respects to the Covid victims - especially the key workers.

Did not expect this much for one person.

AlwaysLatte · 09/04/2021 20:49

Oops double posted, I didn't think the first one went. But you get the gist!

Ladywinesalot · 09/04/2021 20:49

Omg lots of people fair every day!!
Shall we feel sorry for everyone?

The royals are outdated and I cannot understand the obsession with them! So strange

MissingMyOldLife · 09/04/2021 20:51

The OP's post is what I hate about modern Britain.

Have a bit of respect. A well-loved member of our monarchy, the foundation that keeps the stability of our country, has just died and here you are showing how little class and respect you have.

Sorry, you are missing Hollyoaks or Coronation Street. I'm sure you'll catch up.

Holothane · 09/04/2021 20:52

Don’t watch much tv now anyway Dr who for tonight.

CurlyhairedAssassin · 09/04/2021 20:54

I'm may be being totally ageist here but I imagine that it's mostly people of the older generation who both love the monarchy and who only have freeview channels. Catering for them?

Thank god for Sky Q.

Keyring · 09/04/2021 20:54

are people so insular that they cannot see the bigger picture?! I despair.

CurlyhairedAssassin · 09/04/2021 20:55

our monarchy, the foundation that keeps the stability of our country

Care to explain how the monarchy keeps our country stable?

LeaveMyDamnJam · 09/04/2021 20:55

I am no monarchist but I empathise with the family’s loss and hope they are keeping well. Do we need every main channel showing the same programme? No and where is Gardener’s World? Luckily I have Netflix.

Keyring · 09/04/2021 20:56

constitutional democracies like the UK are the most stable countries on earth.
DareIask · 09/04/2021 20:57

I can't think of a single reason/need for the bbc to broadcast identical programmes on 1 and 2. It doesn't make them doubly sad or doubly respectful.

Bitofanexpert · 09/04/2021 20:57

Totally agree. We aren’t in the 90s anymore, there are news channels for this.

Had to laugh at a banner across cbeebies during the bedtime hour telling people to turn to bbc one for a ‘major news report’.

Unfortunately no one comes between my toddlers and in the night garden, they won’t turn that crap off for no one Grin

Sweettea1 · 09/04/2021 20:57

No need for it to be on every channel. Couldn't they put it on tmz when t.v is crap anyway.

TheFairyCaravan · 09/04/2021 20:58

So much TV? I've not had the TV on all day (and who gives a fuck if I have). Maybe you should get off your backside and off the internet

I had surgery on Wednesday, and I’m disabled, so I can’t do much more than watch the telly right now. Bully for you that you can!

WeekendCEO · 09/04/2021 20:58

Sorry, what? I mean, I’m not bothered whether we have a royal family or not but seriously??? The foundation that keeps the stability of our country? Confused
