I would have said it's a bit excessive, but not all-day-hangover excessive.

Aibu to think this???

Would you expect to vomit all day after drinking this much?

I always found that hangovers were dependant on where I was in my cycle. Mid cycle, I could drink loads with no effects the next morning. Just prior to my period starting and 2 glasses of wine would result in hangover where was still vomiting late afternoon.

iMatter · 28/03/2021 16:36

I'm embarrassed to say I'd be absolutely fine on that Blush

Scrunchies · 28/03/2021 16:36

So very weirdly this has started happening to me. I used to be a frequent drinker, and before Christmas was drinking 2-3 bottles of red a week. I started feeling very ill so cut down, which didn’t help, so I stopped. NOw I can’t even drink half a glass. Even 100mls or so will absolutely kill me the next day. Tired, sick, fuzzy head, can’t function. I think it has to be some sort of intolerance, it came on so quickly out of nowhere and I’m devastated as I love wine!

harknesswitch · 28/03/2021 16:37

There was a time I'd be puking until about 3pm the next day if I'd drunk a bottle of wine

CornedBeef451 · 28/03/2021 16:37

I drank more than that yesterday and I'm fine today. That might not be a good thing though.,

LH1987 · 28/03/2021 16:39

Sounds like it was the steak or something else you ate. That much wine shouldn’t make you this ill.

littleloopylou · 28/03/2021 16:40

@HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee no, I drink fairly regularly!

@Ohnomoreno thanks!

I can drink well over a bottle before I feel any hint of a hangover. Have always been the same

HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee · 28/03/2021 16:43

I’m simply observing it’s like food threads were others will post they eat teeny tiny portions

Meltinthemiddle · 28/03/2021 16:44

Yes with wine definitely, any other alcohol seems to be a game of chance. Last time I drunk half a bottle of gin I was throwing up until 10pm the next day and couldn't get out of bed 😭 my hangovers are severe to the point imay give it up!

Arriettyborrower · 28/03/2021 16:44

I rarely drink red wine because it makes me feel so dreadful, however, like lady poison I tried an organic red and was absolutely fine!

But the Casillero de Diablo wines completely slay me, I avoid them at all costs so am sure it’s the Sulfites in them.

Saltyslug · 28/03/2021 16:46

I wouldn’t sleep and I’d feel awful

Branleuse · 28/03/2021 16:47

it depends. The older I get, the less I tolerate alcohol unfortunately. If I drink enough to feel it, I usually suffer for it.
The last time I had a proper night out, I think I maybe drank 3 or 4 pints and I felt like dying the next day.
Sometimes I have barely a glass of wine and I feel sick, and then other times its fine.
Its all very unfair

Saltyslug · 28/03/2021 16:47

I’m going to try organic though now!

poppycat10 · 28/03/2021 16:49

A few years ago 3 of us got through 2 bottles of red wine. I didn't vomit but I was in bed all the following day - so presume I had 2/3 bottle.

I can drink that much white wine and still be able to function, but I'll have a headache.

Hence I only drink one glass of wine at a time.

therocinante · 28/03/2021 16:50

Red wine fucks me over, so yes. I could have 4 double gins and feel nothing the next day but one glass of red wine gives me a mega hangover.

Tangledtresses · 28/03/2021 16:51

That wine is not very nice... a lot of sulphides, although with the steak combo 😵

Or if you are doing low carb no carb you just can't drink much it goes straight to your head

Tessateacup · 28/03/2021 16:51

Is that Tempranillo 13.5%? If you haven't drunk very much recently, a strong red like this maybe too much for you? I had two glasses of rosé 12.5% the other night and felt mashed!

HHSchultz · 28/03/2021 16:53

If I had that much Wine I would be very sick, but I'm old now. The no carbs would make me worse, nothing to soak it up.

PADH · 28/03/2021 16:53

I would be sick after 2 glasses of white wine, but drink over a bottle of red and be fine. I think it depends on the person. White white really turns me, and it's not the alcohol content.

littleloopylou · 28/03/2021 16:54

I think I will be skipping Casillero del Diablo in the future. And eating more carbs with wine Blush

fishonabicycle · 28/03/2021 16:56

I'm sometimes ridiculously sick from drinking too. No idea why it occasionally gets me. Yesterday I had half a bottle of white and was perfectly fine - no headache or anything today. Other times I've had 2/3 drinks and puked. I'm also small.

HeadNorth · 28/03/2021 16:57

My sister vomits copiously if she drinks any red wine. Can tan the white & rose, but one glass of red wine and she is hurling. I'd stay away from red wine in future.

dividedwefall · 28/03/2021 17:03

I have an allergy to sulphites and if I drink cheap, high sulphite wine I can feel very poorly after a single glass, including vomiting and banging headache.
