To presume that drug dealers have moved in over the road?

They don't seem to go to work, have five cars; a range rover, a mercedes, a BMW, an audi and a truck type thing.
A couple in their thirties with one child, renting the property in what is predominantly owner occupied road.

I'm going to get jumped on here, but they look rough, for want of a better word.

Am I being a twat for presuming they are drug dealers or money launderers/something else a bit unsavoury?

@ChelseeDagger

Are you a little butthurt that, despite being "working professionals", you, your husband and five children are holed up in a terraced house worth £200k, whereas the family across the street can afford the same house AND £ks worth of cars?

Well darling mine is the five bed end terrace, so I'm obviously above the renting riff raff over the road, irrespective of their tacky cars Wink

Okay just getting comfy for the deletion message now. 🍿 🥤

Is it Peter Andre? Just given the Iceland connection and fancy cars.

Don't forget the subtle mention of Katie Price too!

Lottery winners, inheritance beneficiaries, or just worked really hard to get where they are now. Could be many reasons why they have money/cars that you are envious of without committing crime.

What is the point of stupid threads like this ??

ChelseeDagger · 25/03/2021 11:46

The fellas are here to plumb in my appliances just now, but don't worry I shall be asking for their opinions and will report back..

I live in the only rental in our cul-de-sac, I've got fat and slobbish over lockdown, my husband and I rarely leave the house as he's self employed and work has dried up recently and I'm on furlough. But we've only got a astra and we shop at Aldi so hopefully that means our neighbours don't think we're dealers... 😂

Does there have to be one??

DioneTheDiabolist · 25/03/2021 11:49

No offence, but that's what you get if you live in a terrace house OP. If you dont want drug dealers renting on your street, move to a better street.Wink

Thanks for that. We were all panicking that you’d neglect to drag the appliance installation chaos into your bizarre judgathon.

Good to know they’ll be canvassed. 👍🏻🙄

Roszie · 25/03/2021 11:52

Roszie · 25/03/2021 11:53

Of course, she doesn't have an end terrace and only has the three bedrooms, poor thing.

HAHA sorry but I LOVE this thread!

You need to do more digging somehow, a casual 'nice to meet you, if you need to borrow any sugar let me know' would be a good start to your new neighbour :D

WithTeaTree · 25/03/2021 12:35

I know a guy whose house is an absolute state. Overgrown, unpainted, cracked window that has never been repaired other than with sticky tape. It’s a disgrace.

He drives a Lamborghini and looks the absolute business every time I see him. He clearly just spends no money on his house and all his money on the car and clothes.

nitsandwormsdodger · 25/03/2021 12:43

Maybe they are slumming it in your street while their new place is renovated ?
Can you go over with a welcome bottle of cheap tacky fizz and engage in polite chit chat to get info ?

ZednotZee · 25/03/2021 12:51

Their cars sound awful.

Only dealers would be seen dead in them, they probably hide the drugs in the boot of the beemer.

Or they just have awful taste, who knows OP?

Elai1978 · 25/03/2021 13:02

Very unlikely that they have £400k worth of cars. You don’t give much detail on exact models/ages but you could build a fleet like that for £20k if you wanted to (they’d all be a bit shit though).

BigSandyBalls2015 · 25/03/2021 13:09

Are they wearing Canada Goose coats ... sure sign of a dealer around these parts 🤣

mummylovesthesunshine · 25/03/2021 13:10

Ask them if you are so curious.

Would make for an interesting discussion.

Be careful asking for sugar, they might accidentally get it mixed up with cocaine!
EsmaCannonball · 25/03/2021 13:12

I know someone who has an incredibly well-paid freelance career where he works 99% of the time from home. He has a beautiful house and swanky car and is physically disabled. He's had neighbours tell him how wonderful it is that the government gives 'people like him' such nice things.

BigSandyBalls2015 · 25/03/2021 13:12

@EsmaCannonball Shock that’s awful

LunchBoxPolice · 25/03/2021 13:16

Better to have 5 cars than 5 kids
