To wear this for an interview?

It's for a clinical position on a children's ward. I've not interviewed in person for a long time!! Is this professional enough?

To wear this for an interview?

JustDanceAddict · 24/03/2021 17:53

Definitely not!

QueenPaw · 24/03/2021 17:55

Nobody going to bother reading the thread then?
SHE WORE IT AND GOT THE JOB

Insiderknowledgepls · 24/03/2021 17:56

I think it’s lovely. Given focus in MH on being person centred, I’d think it a positive sign that you’re comfortable showing you have a personality ans aren’t an identical corporate-bot. Esp if working with children, bringing a little bit of sunshine and colour to the world - carrying hope - could be uplifting for people using your services. Let your personality shine through the gloom. Good luck!

I love these threads! Cancel the cheque!

mylifestory · 24/03/2021 17:56

Too loud. Nothing more to say

me4real · 24/03/2021 17:56

I don't think it's very professional-looking. It's like something you'd wear to a BBQ party or something. If you have to ask us then you know it's not quite right.

Well you look very foolish, that outburst She wore the dress She got the job
HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee · 24/03/2021 18:00

@restrainingorder

can i be the first to say you definitely won't get the job and need a little black suit. :;
Can I be the first to say you’re absolutely talkin out your arse She wore the dress She got the job

No lil black suit required

me4real · 24/03/2021 18:00

If I was going for a clinical position I'd dress, like, clinical/professional. Just a suit or something. You're not selling your personality, but how well you can do the job.

doadeer · 24/03/2021 18:03

@youremyperson

I did wear the dress. The person in front of me wore t shirt and jeans the people who interviewed me wore scrubs. It wasn't very formal but I got the job so that's great!
Yay! Wonderful news OP I bet you looked wonderful
doadeer · 24/03/2021 18:03

I need a thesaurus I only know the adjective wonderful 🤣

CrazylazyJane · 24/03/2021 18:06

Goodness! There's some boring people on here. If you were interviewing for a job in the city or the corporate world I would say no but OP is going for a role on a children's ward.

I would wear it with black ballet pumps and a cardigan to keep it grounded as an outfit. If I was interviewing you I would think you were a fun, cheerful person who wasn't afraid to show a bit of personality and pizazz. If you like it, wear it.

tommyhoundmum · 24/03/2021 18:07

Congratulations!

TrixieMixie · 24/03/2021 18:07

It's absolutely gorgeous, but no, not suitable for an interview. Not even with a dark jacket. where's it from?

Unsure33 · 24/03/2021 18:08

Yay! Well done

HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee · 24/03/2021 18:09

I love all the definitive no way.NO! Posts. All emboldened and sure of their POV
Have clearly not read thread, She wore the dress She got the job

Trudij123 · 24/03/2021 18:13

Late to this - congratulations for getting the job!! I’m glad you wore it, I think it’s gorgeous and just right to make you confident in your interview.

supersop60 · 24/03/2021 18:13

Congratulations!
I know I said NO, but you know yourself best - well done!

QueenPaw · 24/03/2021 18:22

Honestly it's like when you post on FB
"Got this lovely jacket, £20 from next, comes in black or blue, here's the link"
Then you get
"Where from?"
"How much?"
"Was there other colours?"
"Have you got the link?"
Confused

MiddlesexGirl · 24/03/2021 18:28

Fantastic news OP. I'm so glad I don't work in a role where boring black, grey and navy suits are de rigueur. As an interviewer I would much prefer to see a bit of personality in an interviewee and as others have said, it helps you to get noticed.

Dogsandbabies · 24/03/2021 18:30

Well done OP!! And well done for wearing the dress. I bet you looked and felt great.

Very much so esp all the definitive no! You’ll not get the post, it’s unprofessional etc comments
bemusedmoose · 24/03/2021 18:35

I often wear things like this. Would wear it to an interview with a black 50s cardie and ballet pumps.

BestestBrownies · 24/03/2021 18:46

Congratulations on getting the job and trusting your instincts regarding the dress OP.

My first thought was “FFS, another example of something men never need to waste headspace on.”

caspersmagicaljourney · 24/03/2021 18:46

Lovely dress, but wasted on an interview OP. Sorry.😞
Something plain, maybe a bodycon style dress, or something with a smaller pattern would be more apt for an interview.
Good luck with the interview btw😁😉
