It's for a clinical position on a children's ward. I've not interviewed in person for a long time!! Is this professional enough?

RTFT. She wore it and got the job.
Rtruth · 24/03/2021 17:21

Love it

FabulouslyFunny · 24/03/2021 17:22

It’s a stunning dress however IMO it’s not the style of dress you’d wear to an interview

May17th · 24/03/2021 17:24

It’s too busy. If there was one or two flowers you would get away with it.

It’s rather fancy!

Guess what?
She did!

RaininSummer · 24/03/2021 17:25

I am probably way out of touch but to me that is a going out dress not semi formal interview wear. Would you wear it to work? If so, then perhaps it's fine.

user1472151176 · 24/03/2021 17:27

Love the dress but personally I think its too bold for an interview.

tommyhoundmum · 24/03/2021 17:27

Yes, tone it down with a jacket or cardigan if you are really keen on wearing the dess and it makes you feel confident

Yogalola · 24/03/2021 17:35

Looks a bit fussy for an interview, lovely dress though. Suppose it depends on your personality, if you can carry it off

Enough4me · 24/03/2021 17:38

Welldone op!

Jeeperscreepers69 · 24/03/2021 17:44

Fashion is not for a interview. I wouldnt take you serious in that. Its nice but going out with the girls nice not interveiw nice. Maybe a nice blouse and loose fitting trousers?

THEDEACON · 24/03/2021 17:45

Too late!

helpIhateclothesshopping · 24/03/2021 17:46

I think it's a lovely dress, maybe a bit too glam for an interview although I doubt that would put too many people off. At the moment I think people have to appreciate that the shops aren't exactly open and you sometimes have to wear what is available, that fits.

viques · 24/03/2021 17:46

@BashfulClam

It’s lovely but a bit too much. I airways do wear one thing to stand out. Such as a bright top etc. I feel when they are discussing candidates if someone says ‘what one was that?’ The response would hopefully be ‘ the woman with the purple/red/bright pink blouse’ makes you easily memorable.
I think this is good advice. I wore a bright red dress under a black jacket for an interview . And got the job . I met one of the other candidates later and she said she knew I would get the job because the dress made me look the part!

Well done OP. I wonder if the jeans and t shirt person will ask for feedback!

Mrstwiddle · 24/03/2021 17:48

Definitely not, if I were the interviewer, I’d be wondering about your professional judgement.

QueenPaw · 24/03/2021 17:49

@Mrstwiddle she got the job...

MyFavouritePlace · 24/03/2021 17:49

Congratulations!

I meant to post yesterday and say that the dress was inappropriate - shows what I know!! Will definitely make me think twice in future and very happy to be proved wrong!

restrainingorder · 24/03/2021 17:50

can i be the first to say you definitely won't get the job and need a little black suit. :;

SinisterSparkle · 24/03/2021 17:51

Keep it for your 1st bbq of the year. I wouldn't wearnit for an interview
